    • Welcome To Your New-Look SSMB!   07/11/15

Hello! You might have noticed that this place has changed a little bit since you last saw it. Welcome to the Sonic Stadium Message Board - 2015 Edition! The moderators, Bmn and myself have been working really hard these last few weeks to make sure the upgrade from IPB 3 to IPB4 was as seamless as possible, whilst also taking the opportunity to update the look and feel of The Sonic Stadium in a modern way. So there are a whole bunch of technical things that have changed, as well as cosmetic changes that relate to how the forum works. You'll see your username above the main content area: click that and a dropdown menu will appear containing most of the options you need to work your profile. Next to your username are a bunch of quick icons that take you to Notifications and Direct Messages. In the blue bar underneath the header, you'll see an 'SSMB' link on the far right (next to the search button), hover your mouse over that and you'll see different sections of the forum, like Calendar and Forum Staff pages etc. Posting replies is simpler than ever, and a lot of the bugs that have been prevalent in the forum this past year have been squashed. (Needless to say though, that if you're seeing anything that's a bit wonky, do post in the Member Feedback/Bug Reports forum, as it will help us troubleshoot stuff!) The cosmetic changes are part and parcel of a wider initiative by myself to reinvent The Sonic Stadium in 2015. Did you know that this plucky little website will be 15 years old in October? It's been through an awful lot, and with the changing habits of forum goers and website readers alike I've been spending a lot of time trying to figure out the best way to present the site (and forum) in a way that makes sense for everyone in today's era. That's why you see a chop-and-change of some of the forum listings on the homepage - SSMB has been re-organised so that discussion is at the top of the list, and the more popular forums are front and center so you can access them much more easily. Needless to say, SSMB's butterfly change into this current form is a prelude to what will soon happen on The Sonic Stadium itself, later this year - a lot more housecleaning is needed on the main site yet, before I can fully unleash the revamped design. Either way, I hope you like this new look and functionality, and are looking forward to what's coming soon! As this is brand new forum software, there will naturally be some elements that haven't crossed over to this new SSMB immediately - namely Badges. We are working hard to get these back, don't worry. They're not lost forever! We're working on a way of getting them back to you.  Stay tuned on that front! You can comment on this news in the topics situated in the Announcements forum, here.

so, there is news. news about a sonic game.

The German voice actor for Orbot, Romanus Fuhrman, has posted a new voice acting role for cubot for a still unannounced Sonic game, called 'Sonic Mach2'.

The Page shows the following:

sonic mach2
computerspiel von sega
rolle: orbot
regie: ilja köster | iksample stud

translated for those who don't know german:

Sonic Mach2

Video game by Sega

role: Orbot

regie: ilja köster | iksample stud

Source: http://www.romanus-fuhrmann.de/synchron.htm

Is this possibly the first evidence of the next main title? We'll have to wait and see.

maybe. In 2013 he has had a role in 'sonic urals', wich later turned out to be Sonic Lost World. So I guess that Mach2 is just a working title.

"Mach 2" Makes it sound like it has a bigger emphasis on speed. Another Boost game? I hope so.

Looking for "Sonic Mach 2" on the website, can't seem to find it. Anyone else having trouble finding it? Maybe it was taken down.

Nevermind I found it.

Wouldn't it make more sense for it to be Sonic Boom, though? It's the only Sonic related thing in Germany that has Orbot in it at the moment.

....Italy? Dude that's German.

Perhaps it's a codename for Runners, and Orbot has a speaking role on the way? But none of the ripped graphics indicate that... oh man. This may well be something.

Still there mate, don't scroll down very far, it's quite near the top.

As for the title, I wouldn't take any hints from it just yet. If "Sonic Urals" turned out to be "Sonic Lost World" then the real name could be anything. The question now is when his stuff was recorded. Does anybody know how far in the development cycle a game's voice cast is usually brought in? Lost World is listed as 2013 and while that game did indeed come out that year, who knows about this one.

If this is a console game for this year, I'd put bets on a Thursday reveal, SEGA do tend to like Thursdays. The first we'll get clued in will likely be domain addresses being registered by SEGA which is usually done the day before a reveal.

To me, this sounds like either the return of Boost and Mach Speed Sections.

...or both at the same time. Oof.

I see Sonic Urals and Sonic Lost World both listed there.

...the Sonic Boom cartoon hasn't started in Germany, has it?

Considering they're both terms relating to speed and the like, Sonic Boom, Sonic Mach (Speed) 2, you know... yeah.

What was Sonic Mach1?

Okay, crazy theory time.

We recently had the "Sonic travels through Sega Worlds" game rumor. Remember how it also mentioned a Sonic Colors +Gens compilation?

...what if "Mach2" is the working title for said game, since it features 2 games?

The voice actor would have to voice act for the Colors Part of the game, since Colors wasn't dubbed into other European languages, that trend first started with Generations. And Sonic had weirder working titles, like the before mentioned Sonic Urals (which is M&S2014 btw, since Urals are Mountains in Russia, which is where the 2014 Olympics took place)

Yeah, this is just a crazy theory of mine right now with basically nothing to back it up, but...who knows..?

What was Sonic Mach1?

Presumably the "Mach 2" as a title refers to the fact that Sonic's top speed is already Mach 1.

Mach 2 is the speed of sound no?

Mach 1 is the speed of sound and falls closer to Transonic speeds (specifially Mach 1 is categorized as Sonic speed).

Mach 2 is closer to Supersonic speeds.

You guys said Mach 2

Mach_I_new_h718.jpg

(technicly its the mach 1 version, but hey I'm trying to be funny here) :P

JK, but we always need levity. Also doesn't surprise me since Orbot has been in every game since his introduction despite the absence of others. Though don't think this means anymore than somethings coming, but this sounds like a fullscale game over another ap, so wait and see I guess

Runners maybe?

IIRC the only voice acting in Runners is Sonic saying one line in one of the menus or something.

This is probably just the Sonic Boom cartoon or something though.

Also betting this is the Sonic Boom cartoon, or the video game getting a release out there (who knows why, but it's Sega we're talking about here).

Since, you know, the term "sonic boom" and it's relevance to mach speeds.
