Rayman Adventures (iOS, Android)

Rayman is coming back to mobile in a brand new game: Rayman Adventures!

Embark on amazing adventures through legendary worlds on a quest to rescue the Incrediballs!

The enchanted forest is in trouble; the ancient eggs that sustain the sacred tree have been stolen and scattered across the world.

From haunted medieval castles to the mythical worlds of Olympus, Rayman, our fearless adventurer, and Barbara, his Viking companion, set out in search of the Incrediball eggs to breathe new life into the sacred tree!

So, it seems like an Origins 3... for mobile. Instead of an Origins 3 for console or Jungle Run 3... uh. Opinions?

Did Origins and Legends sold poorly? Seems Ubisoft gives little to no attention to the franchise if that's the case.

What a lousy way to celebrate Rayman's 20th Anniversary I'll say.

Ubisoft can go fuck themselves. Was a unbelievably disappointing way to celebrate Rayman's 20th Anniversary, especially considering they won't put a new Rayman game into development BUT THEY HAVE THREE DIFFERENT TOM CLANCY GAMES IN DEVELOPMENT.

Rayman deserves much more than this. If it's a full on Rayman mobile game, it could have easily been put up on PSN/XBLA/Eshop as a smaller downloadable Rayman game, which leads me to believe this is just going to be either another 2D Runner or something else entirely.

It's basically just rearranged Legends assets to new Levels, with little new, exciting tropes or elements, from the looks of it.

It doesn't look bad, it will probably be a pretty neat mobile game, but as the only game Rayman will get on his 20th Birthday, this is pretty fucking disappointing.

Pretty much just looks like a level pack sequel for Legends that's mobile exclusive for some reason - how well will this even play with touch screen controls I wonder?

Well doesn't seem like we're missing much anyway.  I had my fill of endless amounts of Legends gameplay from the daily challenges back when the game was new.  I think the formula has lost it's charm a little - without even new envioronments to re-excite, this really does look like more of the same in a bad way, considering Legends was already more of the same regarding Origins.

The Tom Clancy games sell better.

Splinter Cell Blacklist has sold close to 2 million copies, Ubisoft revealed, while Rayman Legends is right around 1 million sold

I'm said it's delegated to mobile simply because the art in these games are beautiful and touch screen controls are always pretty awkward.

It's nice to see he's not completely dead in the water after the Legends exclusivity/delay fiasco and "disappointing" sales.

You know to be honest out of all the mobile games Ive this looks like one of the more interesting ones. I really loved Rayman Jungle Run and from what Ive seen this looks even better. Yeah it sucks that this isn't the 20th anniversary game that we had all hoped for but for what it's worth it looks fun. Also to those who think this is a slap to the face for fans on the anniversary you guys have not seen Rock Man Xover that is shit.

A worse game doesn't make another game better.

Next thing you know, they'll be shoving microtransactions into the game. It's Ubisoft after all.

Yeah, the Tom Clancy games are selling better, and yes, it could've been worse, but that still doesn't make it less disappointing imo.

Capcom at least has the excuse of being in pretty bad shape (they had to go to Sony to even make a new entry of their biggest Franchise possible), but Ubisoft? They make Millions and Millions every single year through Assassins Creed alone. You'd think that they would have some spare cash to give their Mascot (or ex-mascot?) a nice, pretty big birthday console game. But...no.

If it was any other year, I probably would be like "Hey, this looks like a pretty cool mobile game!" - because it really does look like a pretty cool mobile game. But seeing one of my favorite Videogame characters having his 20th Birthday, a pretty dang big Milestone imo, and all he's getting is a mobile game consisting of rearranged Legends assets with very few new stuff in between just...kind of bums me out. Again, it still could a pretty good game (I'm actually pretty certain it will be), but as a huge fan of Rayman, this is still pretty dang disappointing.

my goodness am I getting tired of hearing this sentence :V

It isn't that big of a deal. I'd much prefer a Rayman 4 or Rayman Legends 2, but this is pretty awesome too.

Why? Because I'm so sick and tired of Ubisoft's utter bullshit? It isn't just the game. It's a long long line of nothing but utterly idiotic and bullshit practices. Between Unity's broken shit, shoving microtranscations into full console games, Legends' delays, Legends' broken promises of stuff like Online Multiplayer, and now this middle finger to the Rayman community, who have been eagerly awaiting something for Rayman's 20th Anniversary, is given nothing but a mobile game, which is either going to be a endless runner, which is nothing but a joke for a 20th Anniversary game, or something that's going to feel broke, trying to control a full Rayman game on a touch screen.

That's not to mention the fact that if it was a full game, it could have easily gone up on consoles as a downloadable title. The entire thing just reeks of laziness, and considering it's Ubisoft behind it, it wouldn't surprise me.

It sucks that this isn't on consoles, but I'm game for a full fledged Rayman Origins game that I can take anywhere for the price of Angry Birds.

Uh, yeah, it's the same song and dance over and over again, and I'm tired of hearing it. Sorry if that's blunt.

Also it's kind of ironic that you mention an endless runner being a joke for an anniversary title when you seemed fine with Sonic Runners. But then, we'll probably get into the "it wasn't a 5th year interval anniversary so it doesn't count" argument, so whatever.

I also don't see how this being a full game on consoles would feel any less lazy, considering it rips assets from Legends. Like... Besides microtransactions and ads, there wouldn't be much of a difference. :V

There's a massive difference. Sonic is clearly having new games being released. Runners is clearly not intended in any way shape or form to be a anniversary game. Now if Fire & Ice was announced next year as the anniversary title, I would have had a problem then,

But that's not the point. The point is Runners and this game are two totally different situations altogether.

As for this ripping off Rayman Legends' assets, that's a whole different problem altogether. But it still doesn't change the fact that this will either be a total joke or a hard to control platformer on a system that doesn't really do platformers well.

Uh, what? SEGA specifically stated a refocus to mobile games. Do you wanna show me the statement where Ubisoft said the same or does a family member work at Ubisoft?

Sonic's last main series game came out the same year Rayman Legends came out. We haven't had anything besides Boom in the meantime.

Also there isn't anything saying Rayman Legends is "clearly intended" to be an anniversary game either.

And not every mobile platformer is hard to control. Jungle Run was just fine, in fact, and I played it on a small iPhone. I'm assuming it'll have the same basic control scheme as the last Rayman mobile games.

Yes, but I have a very low hope that Sega might have the brains to realize that they need a main series title for the 25th anniversary or else they'll become a laughing stock.

Rayman Adventures on the other hand, is such a disappointment because everyone has been awaiting a sequel to Legends. There was a ton of people who watched E3 just to see a announcement of a new game, a title to celebrate his 20th anniversary. This feels like a middle finger to the Rayman fans. If it wasn't Ubisoft, I'd be content with saying ''Alright, well there's still a chance a anniversary title could be announced'' but Ubisoft have a history of screwing Rayman over, between the mentioned delays of Legends, despite it being complete, and the Rabbids taking over for years.

As for that final bit, I should rephrase that to Rayman Legends styled platformers wouldn't work well. The reason why Jungle Run was good was because the gameplay was simplistic, with running being handled automatically. If this turns into a full Rayman game, this means you have to do things such as running, wall jumping and all that with multiple buttons and such.

Maybe you're just overreacting, tbh. No one else hear is going off on an Anti-Ubisoft tangent just because they released a mobile Rayman game. You could, I dunno, wait for the game to come out first, play it, and then make a judgement on whether it's broken or unfun.

Or is this another case of "[company] made a bad game*, don't ever buy anything from them again!" kind of thing?

And what if they do make an actual anniversary title? I don't expect one myself, but hypothetically, how would you react? Would you take back the things you said about this game since most of it would be moot?

(*game I didn't want)

But why they have to start making mobile games, too? I always loved the Rayman franchise, and I don't want it to end up as Sonic.

Alright, I may said that a bit too early, we will see it. Making one or two mobile games is not a fault... :)
