Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, has passed away. The company said in an official document that his death came about due to a bile duct growth, which he had been previously treated for.

No. It isn't. Rest In Piece Iwata, you fought hard and led Nintendo well (to me anyway.)

Not today and not even any time soon..I'm actually speechless to think that the guy we've seen announcing all of this content from directs and everything else is just gone now. I really do wish the best for anyone close to him and that the company still ends up in good hands, he deserves that much. I still can't believe this.

He was charming, he made a lot of good decisions, he was one genius of a programer and all of all, a man who made being president of a company fun.

Well, damn. I knew he wasn't feeling well recently, but it seemed he was doing better. Such a shame.

I know people didn't agree with all of his decisions, but you can tell he really cared about Nintendo as a company.

I know that he has missed a lot of events lately due to health but to hear that he has passed is shocking still.

People give him a lot of shit but I think the man had great vision. I'm really going to miss Iwata Asks, it was a funny and interesting look inside games development.

He had a lot of personality, which I feel came through in his work, both when coding and as a president. RIP Iwata.

I knew that he had been skipping events lately as he had been in the hospital over the past few years, but I didn't think it was anything serious.

I send my condolences to Iwata's family, friends, and co-workers, I really do. I can't bear to even know how Reggie and Miyamoto feel about this, especially with last month's E3 Digital Event (Muppet!Iwata or not) will now be one of his final public collaborations with the two...

I know Nintendo has been getting a lot of criticism lately, but there's no denying this man practically helped built Nitendo into what it is today along with his influence in the video game industry overall.
