Lol, maybe a bad idea, but I wouldn't put it past Sega to try push Jazwares into doing it for publicity for the game, even though Sonic fans would, ya know, like more Sonic!
Or or or, what about power rings! Good idea! Like if they made tiny power rings out of real metal (not gold, as that's expensive I hear!) but real power rings! Give them a weighty feel and an awesome shine, then while they're at it make some of the shield monitors and stuff iconic to Sonic....that rhymes!

Oh crap I hope not! Seriously!? the werehog!! they need to get over that utter piece of F@#&ing Sh!t, seriously, if this were the dregs, like the last of the last ideas for the 3" figures then this would be ok, but in the second wave!? NO.
There are far more deserving characters. Rouge? Big? Gamma? Eggman for F-sake! They haven't even made the series' second (or tie for first) character and main villain, and they are already flogging that shithog.
Really pisses me off.
Give me Blaze, give me the Chaotix, the Babylon rogues, all FAR more deserving GUH!
*cools down*
Will be nice to have all the other main cast though, that is, after I can put epic amounts of money through eBay! Though I am curious as to why it is that particular line up? Amy, Shadow, Rouge, Big would've made sense...or Omega.
Hoping the Chaotix will be the third wave!! and ever hopeful for a surprise Nack figure..

Here's the thing, they're gonna go for all the newer stuff because it'll get more sales. Kids see the Werehog because Sonic unleashed was kinda recent. Same thing with Sonic and Caliburn. There's also plans to do the vehicles from All Stars Racing for this same reason.

Also, Nack is out of the question for the foreseeable future. The Jazwares rep says they only have the license for current Sonic, which is apparently Sonic 06 and onward (Sonic X style figures were rejected by SEGA). Whether they'll pursue the license for classic Sonic remains to be seen.

The thread is on This page btw.

Alright, so get this.
Reading the topics here inspired me to go to my local TRU again.. that plus it's on my way to the grocery store for the weekly shopping.
I enter the store from the exit (long walk to the actual extrance) go to the "Sonic Section" and what do I see..?

.
..
...
The new JUVIs.
What.The.Bleep
It's like they totally decided to skip Metal Sonic, they even got another box of the small plushies (I'm so taking one of the boxes next time)

JUVI's look alright, best is still probably the Metal Sonic one since his eyes aren't weird looking (almost like they're tucked under the chin o_o)

I hope you're right on line 2, in that I'd gladly pick up Silver Sonic. The organic characters, on the other hand, look too freaky and "Sonic X" for my tastes. Plus the indented faces look too weird. I'll stick with the First4Figures series for Sonic and his living pals, and will stick to the bots and badnik Juvi figures.

For those who missed out on the 10 inch Metal Sonic:

10" Metal Sonic is Back in Stock

Uh by Silver I think he means Silver the Hedgehog. The guy from "light years" (lol) in the future who first appeared in Sonic 06. Not the other robot Sonic from Sonic 2.

Rather have a 10" Silver figure than a 3" one.

So much Sonic stuff coming up now!

Got mine (10 inch Metal)today! Thing is ten inches of AWESOME. Also, a neat thing, mine has a fixed paint app. The muzzle is painted properly and extends to the top of the torso.

I only have a few gripes with this figure. As mentioned before, the shoes are painted wrong, but I can easily fix that. What I can't fix is some articulation issues. None of the limbs twist, which hinders the poseablity a great deal. Also the waist doesn't twist even though it looks like it should. I think they could have done a lot better with the articulation, but it'd probably cost more if they did.

Oh well, beggars can't be choosers, and Metal Sonic ANYTHING is much appreciated.

Also yes, that "Silver" is Silver the Hedgehog.

I checked into my local TRU today after shopping and guess what...!

THEY HAVE 3 IN STOCK!

I checked out each individually and went out with the best looking one.
Posted Image

One of the other two had some black eye paint on the mouth piece and the other had a little excess plastic on the chin.. wasn't a big deal.

With tax it was $18.41 (About £11.25)
Shipping isn't much better than eBay, the lady at the post office said $30 (£18.30), but if I can somehow squeeze him in a box under a total size of 35 inches (11 tall, 24 around) then it would be $16 (£9.75)

So rounding off, it's about £30 with a box, foam peanuts so it doesn't damage on the way over there or £21 in a tight squeezing box

Awesome!! All except for the werehog, it can go f* off a bridge over lava.
Great to hear Eggman is FINALLY shown some respect by having a model of him made, after all he was only the SECOND (or tied for first depending on how pedantic you are) character and the MAIN villain!
Can't wait for the whole 3" line, even if I do have to expensively get them shipped over from America <_< . But what's the deal with Knuckles? I still haven't managed to find a single 3" figure of him; does he only come in the comic pack?
Also I'm hoping that these models are scaled properly to each other, won't be as happy to display an equally heighted Sonic next to Eggman...

EDIT: Just noticed Amy's thunder thighs. Wtf? They have to at least be twice the thickness of Sonic's legs?

I'm down for the 3" Eggman and Metal Sonic. I'l be skipping the others as I (1) have too many STK trios of figures as it is and (2) could care less about Silver, another Werehog and Amy (unless they make a Sonic CD version).

Agreed that Amy looks great. Awesome to see Eggman and Big joining the lineup too - Will be well worth getting these from America. Hopefully we'll see Blaze and Rouge appearing in the next wave also. :)

I would definitely buy a Robotnik just so I can place him next to Metal Sonic. Of course, I have to buy Metal Sonic as well.

I kinda wish there was a Toys R' Us near me, I would definitely buy that 10'' Metal Sonic figurine.

I imported mine. Well worth the pennies. It's one of the best figures yet released and looks far better in person than in pictures. Cost me about £18 total and it looks great with my plush pile. You won't regret getting one!

I hope they expand the 10" line some more. Really impressed with it.

I've got to wonder if this three inch Amy will have a hammer; Neither of her hands are sculpted for holding anything. Then again, I suppose they could just make the hammer a "snap-on" accessory.

Latest updates:

Eggman is about 4in
Big is about 4.25in

Needless to say, these are NOT re-releases of the Toy Island figs.

Amy is apparently part of another comic pack, but when she is released solo, she may come with a Piko Piko Hammer.

All these comic packs are starting to make me wonder, maybe we'll get comic exclusive characters somewhere down the line? Though I'm not a big Sally fan, I'd LOVE to have her in this scale. It'd also be a prime opportunity to get a Mighty figure.

I think I might just start copy pasting the rep's word here.

How the heck did you get it for £18? After the £10 on the figure.. that only leaves £8 for shipping :o
