I just hope this is NOT the 20th anniversary game. I will be utterly disappointed if it is so.

It's coming on in 2010. That's only four years after the acursed 15th anniversary game. So no, it's not.

Because most possible game buyers aren't interested in a 2D game. HD 3D is the norm now. This feels catered only to old school fans.

You've done a lot of market research, then?

The sales of games like 'Splosion Man and Mega Man 9 tend to disagree with you, though.

How can it be the 20th anniversary game if it won't be released in the right year? What CSS said. Anyways--

As an Aside, I saw that back when it was new, when I just randomly went to Gamespot. You know what I thought? "Looks like the same crap they've been pulling since Adventure 2". And I was right on the money.

I'd reckon 06 is closer to SA1 than anything else, but nevertheless, a recycled game doesn't necessarily have to be a bad one. That's hardly why the game failed, although since I know you're don't like SA2 anyways, I suppose I'm not saying much. xP

This game's gonna sell regardless. It's not like old schoolers were the only ones who'll notice this game.

Not ones like Sonic 06. ShTH had a marketing trick to get it to sell well: GUNZ!

Sonic '06 made the platinum hits thing or whatever on Xbox didn't it? that's pretty mucha a sign that a game sold fuckloads.

Kids dig the hedgehog.

It did, but not to the extent Shadow did the first two weeks. And Sonic 06 barely even made a million units whereas Shadow hit over that, although that doesn't really mean much.

But Sonic 06 didn't have GUNZ!

Teaser site is up. I'm too slow.

Anyway, I'm slowly getting hyped up for this game. I just want a picture of the Sonic render, dammit!

Given Sega's track record of plan execution, this could make or break Sonic.

People have been saying that since Sonic Heroes.. what gives?

yeah even bad Sonic games sell good.

Sonic Black Knight didn't.

All I have to say is, 2010? Too Early.

Does anyone get more of a Dr. Seuss feel from those forms than anything else?

OK, WHAT is everyone arguing over?

You're all acting like this is politics or something.

"I raise to you sir the rate of performance of our candidate has been a bit thin lately, I dare say his image has been worn thin, he wants to go back to the roots of his campaign to find and reinstall his core base, a return to form for self discovery. Oh but how will this relate to his current positions on things? Well I do say that this may not reflect how he performs now, maybe he will go back to find a new way to reach audiences everywhere. This has been a requested move for our candidate to take for a long while, but now that it's being acted is this really the right course of action?"

Boring stuff people. I hope they do the ONE key thing I think Sonic games have been lacking. Creative, fun, unique, and awesome level design. Make Sonic do things only Sonic can do. Make it fun. Make it fast but a good platformer in it's own right. I am looking forward to it, but not as the rebirth of Sonic or another crash, but exactly as they're advertising it as: A brand new 2d Sonic adventure. I'm sure I'll love it, wait to see more.

I'd say it looks more Tim Burton-ish to me.

And from what I see, I'm guessing the game is going to a 2.5D game ala Sonic Rivals minus the Rivals. Looks like we'll have to wait and see.

Objection! They did that with Sonic Rush Adventure.

You saw all that from a little trailer yet you didn't see the word 2D?

Honestly, I could care less if this were a game to "recapture that classic magic" as itwere. The only thing I care about is that the game better be fun.

No, I saw it on the teaser SITE, not the trailer. I can tell from the lighting and shading from the platforms.
