Not sure how often I'll post in this topic, but I have an image that I wanted to share.

I drew this on the back of a notepad at work last week:

I also have quite a bit of drawings here:

Love it btw.

That is exceptionally well done, it caters to the Genesis Art of him so well, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference with the official art! Very impressive and please keep them coming!

Thanks guys! Yeah, I love the short round bellied Sonic. I would have perfected the drawing, but being on the back of a notepad and not being something I should be doing at work to begin with, I think it turned out rather well. I've been working on implementing props, as my usual Sonic drawings involve him just standing or running.

I took the liberty of adding some colour to it and make it a little more clear with some minor edits.

Why I did this? Because it's THAT awesome!

Nice work! =)

Oh wow, Tizo Teh Hedgie, haha thats awesome! Thanks! I see you altered the eyes, did you change anything else? Makes me want to revisit it and make a more quality version, similar to yours.

Nice nice, it's amazing how a simple doodle can become something that looks so official, and yet original at the same time! I think I might just mess around and add shading and gloss to this guy if you don't mind!

Actually naw, he's good without it, more classical, and boy oh boy I hope this merges my posts instead of creating a new one!

I'd take this drawing over some of the stuff found in the early manuals.

I remember the US Sonic CD had some excellent Sonic art in this style. Unfortunately the dimwit who did the manual design forgot to put high resolution images in, so they were extremely pixelated.

Found it:

Forgot to mention, I started with the eyes as a single shape, then built the mouth bit and head around it. I find I can get much better drawings this way, rather than doing the wireframe circle.

Once again, awesome artwork Eggman - totally diggin' the classic style! Poor Unidus looks sad, though - is Sonic gonna let him go? D:

Thanks Hunter!

I had planned on changing Sonic's right hand to be holding a spike ball, but wrist cramps put a stop to that. I don't know why, but I always default to the "hand on hip". Guess it's easy for me :P

work in progress:

My plan is to make a 4 image series that represents each original series Sonic game, the first three of Sonic 1-3 and the fourth one representing Sonic 4. Sort of like how the Knuckles comic series did a mural every three issues:

Excellent work, Eggy. I can't wait to see the last one colored, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the classic Sonic mural you plan to do. :)

Thanks! I'm still sketching it out, should have it done by Sonic 4's release. :)
