TheGerkuman
By the way, Verity Newman? Yes, it's a punny name. Verity Lambert and Sydney Newman were the two people behind Dr.Who in the First Place. (Hence Chameleon-fobbed John Smith's Parents being Sydney and Verty. ) Edited March 21, 2009 by Gerkuman.
Badnik Mechanic
Ghar! I wanted to make this topic! That way I could edit the description with who related puns when new stuff came out. I do hope that we get some new doctor who episodes soon, I'm going to miss a series of who this year. Also, I wonder if they've actually make and release that book? Patticus
Planet of the Dead trailer is being shown tonight just before The Apprentice, of course it's been shown already on BBC HD Preview so.... Looks like the trip to Dubai was worth it, that looks unbelievable! Also, finale set photo : BERNARD CRIBBINS This ties in with the fact that they are apparently filming at "Donna's House" next week. No sign of the enemy yet (still rumoured to be John Simm mind but we'll see soon enough)
Patticus
Russel T. Davies was on Breakfast TV this morning, and said that the second special will be on in/around November, and he confirmed that the companion for the final two specials is going to be Bernard Cribbins . And who's this on the set of Tennant's finale? I must warn you, it's one of the big spoilers for the episode. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3032/341016...c3d5f0fe9_b.jpg
SuperLink
What! I can't believe I missed the Easter special >.< I really need to keep a track of when these specials air, they all seem at pretty random times EDIT: Oh wait nevermind, I thought it'd already been on. *phew* thank god for this thread xD Edited April 7, 2009 by SuperLink
DSP001
Just saw the Easter special, was a nice lil episode, nothing to special, a bit underwhelming at times, especially the beginning and ending, I find it hard to believe its that lasers won't be installed on the top right under a hole in the ceiling =P and that the bus driver didn't slow down when he saw he was being followed by 5 police cars. A real wtf moment was the flying bus, then I should expect these sort of things by now from doctor who. And the little hint the woman said at the end, if that doesn't scream the sound of drums I don't know what does. And looking at the next ep, whooot for what looks like water zombies C:
TitanFifty
Was pretty good, just an average run-of-the-mill first episode. Although I liked the foreshadowing for the "four knocks" And did anyone else "WTF" when Lee Evans came on?
Patticus
I thought that the episode was pretty good, however the feel-good flying bus ending bullshit was utterly atrocious and the celebratory segment that has become standard fare for RTD was so false. Oh yeah, and using the anti-grav clamps that crystal dealy from the alien ship to effectively rocket jump through the wormhole would've been so much better. Can't wait for the next episode. "Water always wins."
The-BB
The ending was so goddamn cheesy! I was expecting that Sailor Moon says segment to come on before the credits kicked in... Today, we saw buses vanish into thin air... Does anyone understand what I'm on about? Anyway, next episode looks amazing. Anyone know when it will be on? The Conductor
I quite liked Planet of the Dead, the foreshadowing at the end made my jaw drop. What I didn't like was the way they handled Lady...shit I forgot her name...I'm sure it starts with a C...(can't be Cassandra can it?)...oh well I'll just call her Zoe. Any way, the way the handled Zoey it was like a fully absorbed finale combined with a sequel hook.
JezMM
It was definately a good episode, much better than the christmas special. But yeah, ending was painfully naff. Russel comes up with some good plots but he needs to stop doing that, lol. I really don't want Tennant's finale to end anything like that.

The Conductor
It wasn't so much how the information came to us, the fact is it was pretty damn exciting!
Paul Str337
I enjoyed it apart from Lee Evans who stopped being funny years and the bionic woman’s awfully fake English accent. The latter confuses me deeply considering the fact she’s actually English but looked and sounded like she was trying to channel Lara Croft. Don’t even get me started on how the Doctor helped a known criminal escape a perfectly honest cop.
Badnik Mechanic
Don’t even get me started on how the Doctor helped a known criminal escape a perfectly honest cop. Because he too is a criminal? And she risked her life to save him and everyone else, so in his mind she had paid for her crimes? Anyway, I enjoyed the episode, liked the story and I actually liked the fact that some of those alien things made it through and UNIT actually did something for once instead of dying! The prophercy stuff... I dunno... I like it, but I also knew it was coming the moment she started to develop psychic powers, that she was going to warn the doctor/audience of a future enemy. But the ending... the bus flying away... it was pretty bad, it screamed "I'm R.T.D and this is how I end all my episodes! WYYYAAAAAYYYY!" It just looked bad and it didn't make any sense at all... even my mum said "It was a bit too harry potter."
The Conductor
Don't you think The Doctor was being a bit of a dick to Christina? I mean one minuete he moans about being all alone but if someone asks to come along he tells them to piss off, and he makes up a cock and bull story about the people around him getting hurt? Um...okay Aldric died, Sarah Jane got dropped off in Glasgow, Astrid popped her clogs and Donna had her mind wiped (I suppose you could count Jackson Lake loosing his wife but that is only marginally The Doctors fault) but other than that his companians have been fine and dandy really, I mean really the only person who ever really gets hurt on their adventures is HIM and he just regenerates! God, what a whiney bitch. I should point out though, that David Tennant has been one of my fave Doctors so far; I also liked Paul McGann and Steven McCoy. That's another thing. He says that every time a new companion comes along, but they end up joining him anyway.
SuperLink
I guess he can't help but get attatched to humans. I thought the episode was great. The ending was cheesy, but I didn't like her as a character. I thought she was pretty damn bland really. That's probably the only real complaint I had with the episode. She was such an emotional blackmailer and excuse maker too.
Patticus
Karen Gillan Announced as Series 5 Companion! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8073734.stm BBC Films has confirmed that plans are afoot to bring Doctor Who to the big screen. In a BBC News article about current Time Lord David Tennant's appearance in spinoff series The Sarah Jane Adventures, a spokeswoman for the corporation's film division disclosed that "a script is in development" for a Who feature. It is not yet known if executive producer Russell T. Davies or incoming showrunner Steven Moffat are writing the script, or whether Tennant or his replacement Matt Smith will play The Doctor. Tennant will appear in special 'The Waters Of Mars' this November, and two subsequent one-offs, before handing the role to Smith. The Doctor has previously appeared in the 1965 film Doctor Who And The Daleks and 1966's Daleks' Invasion Earth: 2150 AD, with Peter Cushing playing the Time Lord on both occasions. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/a157234...ovie-plans.html Have they already forgotten that awful Dr. Who film that was made around 1999 / 2000? JezMM
Karen Gillan Announced as Series 5 Companion! Hey, she looks pretty damn cool/cute (a winning combo). This is going to be a very young and modern pairing we'll be seeing in Series 5 it seems! Have they already forgotten that awful Dr. Who film that was made around 1999 / 2000? Despite how it kinda messed up a few bits of canonicity, I actually thought it was a pretty fun romp. The 8th Doctor was great too.
TheGerkuman
It wasn't awful. Certainly not worse than Love & Monsters, the bane of my Dr.Who fanside. XD
