Major Bumpage, but we got some New Portal 2 DLC for PC coming May 8th, titled "Perpetual Testing Initiative", wich allows users to create their own Test Chambers and also lets them share their Creations in the Steam Workshop.

Buut, I think I'll let Cave Johnson here explain it in further detail

Hm, I sure hope that we can do a better job at this than Wheatley...

I wonder if this will ever make its way to the 360. Im finding little reason to go back now since I've played the game to death.

Fantastic. =D I mean the tools have been avaliable for a while for those willing to put the effort in to learn them, but it's great to see some user-friendly tools for the average gamer.

Looking forward to this piece of DLC so that I can attempt to make my own test chamber of death.

I almost cried when I saw the water compile properly first time round.

I do like the look of the editor. Really like it. Being able to reshape rooms like that is giving me wowsers in my trousers, considering how much longer it takes to do the same in Hammer. I might give it a try, but I'm not sure I'd enjoy the simplicity over the extra functionality Hammer offers.

What would be amazing is if we can make a basic chamber here, and then import that map into hammer to add extra flair.

EDIT: Video answered that question. Yep you can. But of course.

Motherfucker. That interface is FANTASTIC. Accessible, easy to use, and and provides all the tools you need for a decent-looking, if somewhat basic test chamber. One could say this is Portal 2's answer to Trackmania 2's own level editor.

If only actual game dev tools were this easy to use.

Cave Johnson here. I've asked my boys to hijack arbitrary online forum accounts all over the web to bump Portal 2-related threads. Why? To remind you all that the Aperture Science Perpetual Testing Initiative is now online. Now, get busy and start making test chambers before I decide to shut down this website so you'll have no further distractions to making test chambers. Let's go! Close browser. Open steam. Portal 2. Community Test Chambers. GET ON IT!

We're done here.

Playing some demo maps by beta testers or pros or whatever and...

Damn.

Remember when we thought Portal 2 was easier than the first?

Blappeture Mesa?

Also, it's hilarious how Cave has some actual sense when it comes to a certain experiment...

At Sixense Studios, we’re focused on creating software and games for motion control platforms. For the past three years we’ve been working hard developing motion-enabled DLC for games such as Valve’s Portal 2 on the
PC platform. Now we are proud to announce our first content for PlayStation Move, Portal™2 In Motion™ (P2IM).

P2IM was developed independently by Sixense as DLC for Valve’s Portal 2. Our game designers were focused on creating the most immersive and intuitive motion gaming experience ever seen on consoles. The result is a campaign that’s pure puzzles, each of which requires the user to use the motion controller in new ways. We created motion control gameplay to take advantage of everything the PlayStation Move can do and we added this to
all of the gameplay mechanics from the Portal 2 universe. Sixense is also implementing PlayStation Move support for the full Portal 2 campaign.

P2IM features 20 test chambers that progress in difficulty from tutorial to advanced levels. Players choose to play as either Atlas or P-Body (the
robots borrowed from Portal 2), and use new motion features like 1-to-1 control of objects, Portal Surfing (moving and reorienting placed portals) and scaling cubes. When used in conjunction with familiar features imported from
Portal 2 (such as Excursion Funnels, Hard Light Bridges), the possibilities quickly multiply. Because Sixense is focused exclusively on developing motion content, we believe that we can deliver new experiences that will get gamers excited about motion gaming – P2IM is just the beginning.

In the coming weeks we will be sharing more information about the Portal 2 In Motion, the schedule for release and exclusive videos. We’ll be showing P2IM for the first time at E3 in Los Angeles, CA (June 5-7). You can also catch an exclusive sneak peak and live Question & Answer session on the PlayStation E3 livestream from 1:00-1:30 pm on Wednesday
June 6.

Basically it's DLC for Portal 2 using the Move, along with trying to implement the move into the campaign. Sounds cool.

So, it's basically the Razor Hydra-based content except with the Move?

Can't see how this'll work that well, seeing as how the Move is shit compared to the Hydra.

Humm, I'd almost be tempted if it wouldn't require me to buy both the PS3 version AND a Move Controller. Ah well.
