According to Joystiq, there is a rumor that Sega is making a Sonic Riders entry for the Xbox 360 accessory "Project Natal".
Your thoughts?

Reaction to the rumor itself: Doubtful. Sega already released All-Stars Racing in February. And is there room for a spinoff on the Sonic Team development plan?

And since I don't have a 360 and I'm not really interested in the Riders games, it's "meh" to me no matter how it turns out.

Not sure if I believe the game is real though. Sega usually discontinues mini-series at the 2nd entry if if doesn't meet expectations. It does say XBLA though, so it wouldn't be a full title anyway.

As a Sonic fan an exclusive like this drives me crazy. It's like how I'm never going to play Sonic Rivals. Not planning on buying an Xbox with Natal either.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing (360, DS, Mobile, PC, PS3, Wii)
Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (iPhone)
Sonic Golf DX (Mobile)
...in addition to two new games still in development stated for release by the end of the year....
Sonic Colors (DS, Wii)
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I (360, iPhone, PS3, Wii)
...as well as these other confirmed titles...
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode III
...on top of several other games rumoured by Sega...
Mario & Sonic 3
Sega Superstars 4
Sonic Heroes 2
Sonic Riders 3
Holy snap. That's a lot of games to all be in their developmental stages at the same time. Sumo's most probably handling that fourth Superstars title, but that still leaves Sonic Team with a ridiculous amount of games to be working on simultaneously. Just exactly how big is Sonic Team, anyways? I'm stoked for a third Riders game as much as anybody else, but still - how are they going to keep their balance with all of these games?

But I personally hope/expect it to land on the Wii in some form. Like in an Unleashed manner; NOW PRO develops a ground-up version for Wii retail with the same story but with optional Balance Board support. How has this not happened yet?
Which can wait until next year, Colors and 4 are enough for me this year on the Wii.
If it's never going to be on the Wii, I'll probably pick it up like I said as long as it's not Natal-exclusive as I don't want to spend the potential $150 was it(?) for one.

anyway, what kind of Sonic game could SEGA give us? there aren't so many choices. An adventure game is quite impossible to create. We can only imagine party game, some-kind-of sport game and a Riders game. The last choice is the most obvious at this point.
Let's do a simple analyses: SEGA is trying to be at the top, and is trying to put Sonic in every places, obviously for making money. that's a good thing I think, as long as they develop a GOOD gameplay without ruining the Sonic Franchise that we all know and love. With Sonic 4 and Sonic Colors they're kinda trying to take a look at the old days and put the main Sonic Series in the right direction, but in the other side Sonic is a certain money maker, and I won't be surprised If I see him everywhere.
I know you old fans always want the old Sonic back (I'd like it too), but times have changed, the game marketing has changed, I mean, we see Hello Kitty skating on Wii, what do you expect SEGA to do for making money??
the important thing now is their hard work on Sonic 4 and Colours, for bringing back some respect for our favourite blue running hedgehog

If this is true, hopefully they can bring back what made the original one so great. Kinda doubt it with it supposedly being a Natal/Wave game though.

I do have the first two games (first one on PS2 & second one on Wii) and liked both of them but a brand new XBLA sounds just awesome, if the gameplay if 10 tens better than the first and second then i'm game =D.

As far as Natal goes... not sure how that would work out. I honestly don't even thing Natal is going to hit it off, especially based on this price tag I'm hearing about it.
Either way, I would seriously LOVE to see a new Sonic Riders game that actually gets the control scheme right, and includes more characters without Sonic Team characters or generic robots. Exploring more of the story is something else I'd like to see, too. But yeah... they really got to get that control scheme right or it isn't going to work. And as far as Natal goes, I still don't think its going to hit it off that well.

YO DAWG, We heard you like Sonic and Natal, so we put Riders in your XBLA so you can play as Wave while you play with the Wave...
*banned*
EDIT: ahem.... Maybe I should give my opinion....
I don't have any plans to buy Wave (nor an XBOX360) but I really liked the first Riders (never played ZG).
Myabe this is a remake of the first one and the term "free" was made just so people knows there are some differences between the original and this (lIke Sonic Adventure DX/Sonic Adventure 2: Battle)

but i expect sonic riders 3 to be for wii and ps2.
i think sega (and sonic team) trying to get the attention for microsoft at e3.
i don't think its a big game , i think its simply an online game with all the features of the other rider series except story mode.
