Holy crap, who is Crush 40's new drummer?

My God, I was not expecting that. That was awesome.

Damn Crush 40, getting me all obsessed with this song again. Heck, I've even had to put myself through watching a ton of awful Sonic Free Riders reviews just to re-convince myself that not shelling out for an Xbox 360 and Kinect just to play this game is a good idea.

And the lyrics, oh god the lyrics... they're just as ridiculous as ever. How delightful!

I honestly cannot wait for the day that somebody creates a t-shirt like this:

Love the song, though that cut/stop at 2:17 bugs the heck out of me.

By the way, do we have the official lyrics now?
If not, could someone please tell me what you hear around 0:32? Previously, people have been saying it's "Watch as it passes by, you're mad to try, but they just can't keep up", but I don't think it's right...

I got my CD in the mail today! That was quick.

Holy crap, who is Crush 40's new drummer?

It's listed simply as "Katsuji".

LYRICS:

I'm falling free in the wind, in the wind
Free to be me in the wind, in the wind

What would it feel like to be speed of light and rule the night and day
Watch as it passes by you as the masses try you but they just can't keep up
Into the free, into the me, into the ever knowing
Felt so refrained, felt so constrained
But now I'm breaking out and Free...

I'm falling free in the wind, in the wind
Free to be me in the wind, in the wind

Beg, borrow, steal, you've made your deal and with no hesitation
Crawl, walk or run you've had your fun of which is very certain
Into the free, into the me, into the ever knowing
Felt so constrained, felt so to blame
But now I'm breaking out and Free...

I'm falling into the Free, into the Free
Free to be me, I am Free... I am Free

What would it take for you to make a simple speed transition
Into the known from the unknown and feed this wild temptation
Into the free, been starving me, into the ever knowing
Felt so constrained, felt so ashamed
But now I'm breaking out and Free

I'm living in, in the Free, in the Free
Free to be me, I am Free I am Free
I'm falling free in the wind, in the wind
Free to be me in the wind, in the wind

Thanks a lot! I knew that part wasn't right.

And apparently Katsuji was also a musician in Sonic & the Black Knight, if that's of any interest.

Katsuji's the SA2 drummer, as well. I think it changed to someone else (Mark something) for a while after that, though.

Katsuji was the drummer on the songs "Knight Of The Wind", "Live Life", "Live & Learn" and "Sonic Heroes", while Mark Schulman did the drums on "What I'm Made Of..."

Nope, sorry. 'Free' is the only new vocal song in the game. Un-Gravitify is in there as a gear part tune, but that's about it.

Katsuji-sama! haha I knew he would come back. (always made those drums go berserk)
Just the energy, and the rush every tune carries. Pow! =D

The lyrics for "Free", is timeless. Definitely a classic tune.
Maybe its a sign of things to come?

I do believe the game rip is in this very topic. Should be in there.

Isn't it the exact same version as in Zero Gravity anyway? What's the point of ripping it?

Yeah it is (though it loops at a very strange point). I suppose if you want a looping version it's good for that.

I thought they use the Crush 40 version of Un-Gravitify in Free Riders, not the original. D8

I'm looking forward to listening to the OST myself. For anyone here who has the actual album, is anyone planning a rip?

We forbid the distribution of rips with official CD releases as well as music rips of games released before the scheduled date on the forums (we treat it like every other leaked material). But honestly, it's not that hard to find them elsewhere.

By the way, it seems that Fumie Kumatani was too busy with Colors to contribute anything to Free Riders. Whelp, guess I'm not going to bother with this game's music then.

^ Saw that coming. While listening to the gamerip nothing really screamed Kumie to me.

Tell you what I do dig though, I'm glad they brought back simple sampled lyrical tracks in-game. I wouldn't want them in every Sonic game but I do like the edge they give.
