Very nicely made.

Makes me want a CG Sonic movie all the more.

Fuck that was amazing, O_o! And the usage of my favorite OCR song from that album nicely puts the frosting on it, <3. Damn, I really want to see Part 2 now, XD. Some spots were a bit choppy and others not so polished, but hot damn, over all it was incredibly pretty, especially on some parts. Sonic's model before the Super form kinda looked like the one from Brawl, but erm, more nice, X3.

I love how the creator of this wasn't afraid to slide in some of Sonic's personality along with the entire epicness of it. This, and the slight usage of humor too, <3. If a CG could be made like this, I don't think I'd have a problem (of course, made to theater quality and so forth). But I don't know, an hour to and hour and a half of no speech might not hold together, >=.

I'm not exactly sure if posting other people's work to show off here is against the rules, but this is something beyond exceptional quality, and can really harness a few pages of discussion, <3.

I actually had a sneak peek at that about a year ago in person haha. There was quite a bit of new parts I hadn't seen since then.

I know, I thought it was going to be that Sonic 2 ending thing at first, XD.

Actually I was thinking exactly this!
The model looks very very similar to the one from SSBB, which is all the more awesome as I think that model is the perfect one to use for 3D Sonic games.

This was pretty cool, can't wait for part 2!
Makes me really really think they need to make a Sonic movie like this, no live action, maybe an anime style, but I think CG like this is the way to go. Of course I do think there should be dialogue which means voices which means voice actors which also means bitching over voice actors!
But can you imagine! A Sonic movie like this, have it start in Sonic 2 settings with flashbacks to Sonic 1 as Sonic explains to Tails a bit of the history behind him and Robotnik, then have it progress through Sonic 3 & Knuckles, that's easily be enough to fill a movie as long as you bulked up the material like the maker of this video did.

OMG! IT'S THE GREEN EYES SONIC! THAT'S GAY! THE WHOLE VIDEO IS RUINED!

In all seriousness that was pretty freaking awesome. My only real complaint was that Sonic's eye color didn't change to red when he turned super... but that really doesn't matter... makes me want a 3D remake of the classic Sonic games.

I'd say whoever it is making this is going for accuracy, so green eyes was the original Super Sonic of Doomsday zone era, therefore green eyes Super Sonic in the video.

I think it's a nice change, I'm not one to bitch about eye colour, but I've gotten so used to Super Sonic with red eyes that the classic green eyed Super Sonic looks quite nice and kinda refreshing.....I think the colour contrasts better or at least looks nicer together with the yellow or something to me.

Had it not been for the sometimes bad physics and the lack of detail on the asteroids/space rubble I would almost have thought this could be a prototype for a Sonic movie - which would be AWESOME!
Sonic movie like this for 20th anniversary in 2011 SEGA? Make it happen!

Really enjoyed that, it was well made and hoping even though his video is over limit he can enter it in that Birthday Contest. >_> This was of much better quality than the Sonic 2 3D ending BUT that's not to downsize the quality of the Sonic 2 3D ending video.

Also glad as the description of his video says he recently got a job at Bioware (though not as an animator) so it's always nice to see people pleased with such jobs as I have a tremendous amount of respect for Bioware and maybe he can push them to work on Sonic Chronicles 2 or hand the IP to someone else.

Now all we need is a Sonic 1 and 3 ending in 3D and we've got the trilogy down. 8D -shot-

there are a lot of these (free form 3D sonic animations) on youtube. Most of them are nightmare inducing.

Some parts of it were good. Have to give him points for trying but I wasn't that impressed as a lot of other people were, merely like "oh that's pretty cool" rather then "OMFG AWESOME." It just didn't grab me really.

WTF was with that wank-y intro though? why not just have the radness of sonic running off that ramp on the death egg and jumping into space? way better!

Yeah I can agree with this. It would be understandable if this was a real movie and they were trying to pad it out to make it longer, but I didnt really feel the start with its drawn out Chaos emerald grabbing scenes.......plus if that's space shouldn't Sonic ya know run out of oxygen before all that faffing about?

I also felt Sonic's moves were a little offputting. For instance when he spots the Master Emerald he flys towards it but he sorta zigzags or curves to it rather than heading straight there which seems more like showing off what the animator can do rather than rational plot.
Also offputting was the speed Sonic moves at, at times when he doesn't need to be he's fast and other times he feels quite slow, and when Sonic actually stops moving but the background moves and he is intended to move along too just looks odd....perhaps if he'd had a more in motion body rather than standing there in moving midair then it would of looked more believable.
Dodging those missiles whilst on Robotniks ship feels quite mistimed too.

Polish it up though and this would be quite awesome. I'd love to see a whole movie made like this.

Like when he's on top of the ship waiting for the missle to come. He's like... sitting there then he lazily sort of flips out of the way... waiiits.... flips again.... waaaaits, fflips. It's off putting!

And no scene where sonic tries to ram the damn thing? I'm sure everyone tried that at least once!

Yeah there is no sense of urgency, like a few more scenes where Sonic seems desperate to catch up would've been nice, and maybe a real sense of danger, even some showboating on Sonic's part....the models and some of the action is great, but the personality and character is where it gets let down.

Also, yeah a ramming scene wouldve been nice (....<-- kinda sounding like I'm reviewing a porno >_<) something like Sonic headbutting it full pace with hilarious results! and him having to find another option.

I actually thought the beginning was one of the coolest parts...very atmospheric...but thats just me.  Did anyone notice the 3D Metal Sonic vs Sonic video on there? Looks like Tron and Sonic X-Treme had a baby.

Woah! That actually had me on the edge of my seat. I've done animation before, so I know how hard it is to create fluid animation. This is amazing. I love the way the camera zooms around the asteroids, mixed with the sound effects, it's really jaw dropping. And there's attitude in there. Something the games have been missing for a long time.

First I wanna say: Man Sonic is so damn cool. If I ever in life think he's lame I will watch this. That's what I thought throughout the entire thing.

Moving on, I've seen the Sonic 2 ending and that was amazing, but I feel that this tops that. There was just more input into this film. I'm speechless and in amazement. I need to show this to people!
