Alright, it's SU #38 summary time!

1.The issue begins with Eggman's Stache Flyer descending upon Station Square leading a squadron of Egg Camels (Eggman AT-ATs) while G.U.N. tries to evacuate everyone.
2.On board one of the Egg Camels, Eggman is showing the brainwashed Hugo Brass the might of his empire as they invade the city. Hugo simply replies "Yes, sir." to every one of Eggman's Soliloquies.
3."Y'know, Hugo, I got a real kick out of rewiring your brain. You came to rescue your Paladin unit so brazenly, so heroically, only for all of you to become my mindless minions! But now you're just...BORING."
4."Yes, sir. Sorry, sir."
5."No matter. The point is to capture Snively and interrogate him. Why make his big move now? It doesn't fit his usual pattern of back-stabbery. And why stop here of all places?"
6.Eggman calls out to Orbot and Cubot, also on board two of their own Egg Camels.
7."Dromedary two and three! Are you ready for the assault?"
8."This is Dromedary two, awaiting your command, o bulbous one!"
9."'Ey, I dunno what this has gotta do with "Drama" and "Dairy," but I'm ready ta go! Bada-bing!"
10."All forces...ATTACK!"
11.Elsewhere, at G.U.N. Headquarters, one of the soldiers informs Commander Tower that the President's escorts have arrived.
12."Very well. I hate to send two-thirds of Team Dark away, but the President was adamant! Then again, I don't think Omega's going solo."
13.Cut to the battlefield, where Omega is leading a squadron of Big Foots and Laser Hunters into battle.
14."Forward, inferior robots and fleshy things! Let us thank Eggman for a chance to destroy so many of his robots! Thank them with fire!"
15.Meanwhile, in one of G.U.N.'s laboratories, Hope tinkers away on an item capsule.
16."C'mon...c'mon...Omega's going to need extra support out there..."
17.Suddenly, Snively sneaks in, greeting Hope and causing her to run away screaming "Red alert! We've been breached!"
18.He tackles her to the ground before she can hit the alert button.
19."I'm not here to cause trouble!"
20."Save it! I saw what you did to Knothole! And now you're doing the same to Central City!"
21.Snively drops to his knees.
22."I convinced you to leave Knothole BEFORE the invasion, remember? And I'm not involved in what's going on outside! I came here to talk to you! PLEASE hear me out!"
23.Hope holds her hand up to the alert button, hesitates, and then drops it.
24."Fine."
25.Hope asks Snively how he got inside the base and what he wants. Snively says that he used a personal cloak and that he's done working for Eggman and is on his way to save his girlfriend.
26."Since when did you have a--?"
27."I want to start a new life, a new family. And I won't do it without my baby sister!"
28."Y-You're serious? But you know we aren't really related, right? Your dad married my mom after my real dad passed away when I was a baby!"
29."Ah...actually, while we were still in Knothole, I took the liberty of doing a DNA test."
30."WHAT?!"
31."With just one hair! And I found--conclusively--that we had the SAME father!"
32."But--But--! Why would dad and Granny Agnes lie about that?"
33."Our father was a shrewd man. He probably thought I was dead. Or maybe he didn't want you involved with the likes of me! But all that doesn't matter! He's gone. You know the truth now, and we can finally be together!"
34.Elsewhere, back at the battlefield, Omega is blasting one of the Egg Camels.
35."You squandered your greatest creation, Doctor! Now I will break all of your puny toys!"
36."So THIS is where you ran off to?! I made you, I can UNMAKE you!! Let's show him just what I mean! Send out the Egg Paladins!"
37."Yes, sir."
38.Brass' mighty Paladin unit descends from the Egg Camel, now fully under Eggman's control. They surround Omega.
39."Careful, you treasonous trashcan! These are Legionized G.U.N. soldiers! You wouldn't want to shoot your army buddies, would you?!"
40.Omega fends off the attacks from the soldiers and subdues them with physical blows.
41."Oh, for the love of--! NOW! HIT HIM!"
42.Suddenly, Mecha Sally takes Omega by surprise and knocks him back.
43."Analyzing new target...Princess Sally?!"
44."HAHAHAHAHA!! The one and only! Do you see now what happens to those who oppose me?!"
45."Leader of the most productive Freedom Fighter team. She should be rescued!"
46."But she can't! I've made sure of that! And she's already hurt Sonic more than you could ever hope to!"
47."I no longer desire to destroy Sonic. Much. If there is no chance of rescue, perhaps destruction is the kinder option?"
48.Suddenly, he's blasted by twin lasers from the front by Mecha Sally and from the back by Metal Sonic.
49."Nah-ah-ah! I went through a lot of trouble to get her! FIRE!"
50.Meanwhile, back to Snively and Hope, he explains how he came to escape from Eggman and his new mission to rescue Regina. He than asks Hope to come with him.
51."I don't know...the Commander has been very kind to me...I've lost my first family, and I abandoned everyone in Knothole. I don't want to turn my back on those who've shown me kindness again."
52."You're one little girl on an army base. Come with me. I'll always be there, and Regina will love your knack with machines."
53."...It can be awfully lonely here at times..."
54."By then, Eggman will have restored order to his empire, but he'll be weakened! We'll be united, and STRONGER!"
55."Wait..."
56."We'll topple him from his throne once and for all! First we'll take the Eggman Empire, and then ALL OF MOBIUS! And then you and I can rule the world as one big, happy family!"
57.Hope draws a disgusted frown.
58."What do you say? I'm sure Regina will let you pick whichever continent you want as your own!"
59.Hope slaps Snively's face.
60."You HORRIBLE, WRETCHED little man! You had me! After all the evil you've done, you had me believing there was a SHRED of decency in you--AGAIN!! But there isn't! You miserable, hateful, EVIL man! You're not my brother in ANY shape or form! I'm staying HERE! And I'm helping the Commander stop YOU and Eggman in any way I can!!"
61.Snively sheds a tear and then loses his temper.
62."And what do you think you can do, huh?! What can a second-rate, ungrateful brat like you POSSIBLY build to counter a GENIUS like me?!!"
63."How about this?! Flame Shield, ENGAGE!!"
64.Hope hits the item capsule that she was tinkering with and it surrounds her body in an orb of fire.
65."Get out of my workshop. Get out of my country. GET OUT OF MY LIFE!"
66.She hits the alert button and Snively escapes in his cloaked Egg Jet. She then curls up in a ball and starts crying.
67.Elsewhere, the Commander is notified by the alert that an unauthorized vehicle is in the base.
68."What the blazes--?! Don't let him take off! Send a full security team to check on Hope!"
69.Snively takes off with G.U.N. air assault vehicles on his tail. However, he blows past the Egg Stache Flyer, prompting Metal Sonic and Mecha Sally to destroy the persuing air crafts.
70.Back to Eggman, he notices Snively escaping and asks Orbot if the Egg Jet's tracker is still working. Orbot gives him the affirmative and he orders all of his units to disengage.
71."Uh...you sure about that, Mack? We're bustin' some heads over here, y'know! Could finish this fight today!"
72."I could roll over the United Federation at any time. This will just serve as a reminder to them about who's in control--and if they manage to rebuild stronger...well, that's all part of the game, isn't it?"
73.As Eggman's forces escape, Omega taunts the Egg Paladins.
74."Come back here! I'm not finished with you!"
75.Back inside of the base, a soldier informs the Commander that they've won.
76."No...we were spared defeat. Keep the civilians in the bunkers and keep on high alert."
77."Yes, sir!"
78."And start a damage assessment. I need to know how badly we're hurt."
79.Meanwhile, in Hope's workshop, the soldiers have secured the area.
80.Omega comes in to comfort Hope.
81."Hope? Are you...damaged?"
82."I'm never going to have a normal life. I'm never going to have a family again."
83."Um...there-there? Please do not leak anymore? I am sorry. I was not built to comfort."
84.Elsewhere, inside Snively's Egg Jet, tears fill his eyes with a look of rage on his face.
85."Regina will understand. She'll appreciate all I've done! My plan will WORK! I'll MAKE it work!"
86.Back to Eggman, he draws a sinister grin.
87."Run, run, Snively. Fast as you can! You can't escape me. You can't beat the Eggman!"
88.The issue ends.
89.There's also a very funny Off-Panel strip showing why the President needed two thirds of Team Dark to escort him.

Issue #235 arrived today. I must say, this is the first time I've actually felt as interested in the series as I do now. It's still not brilliant, but compared to the absolute train wreck that it used to be, it's amazing at how much they've turned things around.

Oh, and I wonder if I'm the only person who wonders whether or not the cover image for #235 is a coincidence;





No, wait! Come back! I'm not crazy! Whilst I doubt many (if any) other people here will get the connection, the factor here is that both Silver and Battler (the guy in the other picture) share the same Japanese voice actor. As soon as I saw the cover for #235 I was reminded of the fourth Umineko cover, and the fact both characters are voiced by Ono Daisuke just makes the similarity even more amusing.

1. Dear whoever is in charge of the power rings; WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE BRAINS WERE HANDED OUT? Seriously, I know they're pretty limited in number, but I would have thought giving a spare to the godlike magical cybernetic monkey would be a top distribution priority. Then you'd avoid him being stuck in a corner like this because he'd just pull out a spare ring after giving his crown over to Eggman.

2. Speaking of which though, how can everybody tell that the robot Sally causing shit is a roboticised real Sally and not a metal copy? I'm honestly curious.

3. Eggman's swag is out in full force today.

4. Eggman: Oy, Lynx, I want to legionise your useless flunkeys now.
Conquering Storm: But it would dishonour the clan!
Eggman: I fucking own your clan, bitch!

5. I do like the way the Regina/Snively thing was handled here. She outright rejects him at first, but then he proves that he truly does love her by bringing out the magical armour of oh crap and she goes back to swooning for him because POWAH. So next time, in the World Heavyweight Boxing Championship, it's Eggman and his techy bag of tricks vs Rock'em Sock'em Snively!

6. I think I can sort of see how SU#37 ties in with this all now; for a handful of issues, the action will be located at each one of the areas where the GMs featured are, before moving on. I can imagine Bunnie, Matilda and the Sandblaster DEL will be coming up soon.

Mordred Hood: And soon, my time to shine in the sun will arrive, and everyone will get to meet...LORD HOOD, the most effeminate reptile on Mobius!
Silver: You're saying that while the action is still in the Dragon Kingdom?

1.The issue begins with Eggman, Orbot, and Cubot meeting up with Conquering Storm while the Raiju clan train in the Iron Fortress.
2."As you can see, Doctor, my clan is strong. For generations we have stood against the other three houses and the ignorant "free" people!"
3."MMM-hmm..."
4.Orbot comments about how frightening the Raiju clan look while Cubot (Now naturally speaking pirate.) says "There be too much flippin' and kickin' fer me pleasure!"
5."You demanded my house be legionized. I allowed myself a slight modification for their sake. As you can see, my clan does not need it.
6."MMMM...legionize them anyway."
7."We pride ourselves on our strength, SIR. To be legionized would go against our life's philosophy. It would be the ultimate dishonor to anyone lesser than me."
8."Ahhh...I see now. And I don't care! You're part of my Dark Egg Legion. You're all to be legionized. Otherwise, I'll wipe your clan off the map."
9.The Doctor asks Conquering Storm if she's seen any sign of Jun Kun.
10."No, sir! He has not been seen since the loss of Mobotropolis!"
11."Oh, well. And Snively? Any sign of him?"
12.Conquering Storm shares a shady look with one of her ninjas.
13."Not presently, sir."
14."Phooey. The tracker in his Egg Jet shows he landed near here. I guess I'll make a stop and ask Regina. You get back to your...ninja-ing, I suppose. Orbot! Cubot! We're leaving!"
15.Eggman, Orbot, and cubot leave and that ninja that CS looked at speaks to her.
16."B-but you let the tiny man take the ancient armor from us hours ago!"
17."I did. But that was in the past."
18.Elsewhere, Liu Fang, one of Stormtop Village's locals, walks up to the well that Regina is imprisoned in to give her her lunch.
19."Wake up, witch. It's lunch time. You're lucky Li Yuen is so gracious. If it were up to me, we'd have refilled the well once you were--"
20.Suddenly, Snively phases in behind him and shocks him unconscious.
21.Regina asks why Liu Fang did not continue with his insult, but Snively suddenly descends into the well using the bucket and carries her lunch tray to her.
22."I'm afraid he came down with a bad case of unconsciousness. Tea?"
23."SNIVELY?!"
24.Regina asks what the meaning of this is and Snively explains that he's rejected Eggman and come to save her. He offers her some tea, but she swats it out of his hand.
25."Regina? Sweetie? Honey-pie? Dear?"
26."I was the queen of the Eggman Empire. I was the bride of the four houses. I had all of New Mobotropolis under my control. Now I sit at the bottom of a stinking well. At the first sign of trouble, what do you do? Disable the A.I. wench? Stop the treasonous Lien-Da? Rally the Yagyu? NO! YOU LEFT ME AND WENT RIGHT BACK TO EGGMAN!"
27."I--but--he--you--they--"
28."I don't care what your plan is! The minute it goes awry you'll go crawling back to him!"
29."B-But, Regina...my Queenie-kins..."
30."Just leave me alone. I'd rather rot in here than to have you disgrace me again."
31.Snively draws a sad frown and ascends back up and out of the well.
32.Suddenly, his silent depression is broken by the village's locals alerting Liu Fang of an oncoming Eggman attack.
33."He's here...but so is she. My love. No more running. I've made the preparations. I can do this! I will do this! For her!"
34.Meanwhile, Li Yuen calls the citizens into the temple and the village guards to the center to combat Eggman.
35.Li Moon begs that he get inside as well, but he wont take shelter until everyone is safe.
36.Suddenly, both of them are attacked by Egg-Swats, but Monkey Khan flies in to protect them.
37."The Badniks are too much for your militia, Li Yuen! Call EVERYONE back to the temple. I'll protect the village!"
38."Yes, at once. Thank you!"
39.Back to Eggy, he, Orbot, and Cubot are flying around the village in their own personal Egg Mobiles (Cubot's is even square!) when they're startled by the loud sound of an exploding Egg-Swat.
40.Eggman asks who has that much firepower around these parts and Orbot points out the approaching Monkey Khan.
41."Monkey Khan?! He's here?!"
42."Eggman?! He's here?!"
43.Khan draws a smile.
44."Oh-ho-ho-HO! Sweet revenge is finally mine!"
45.Orbot accesses information on Monkey Khan.
46."hmm...According to his files compiled during your time...away...*Ahem*...he's suspected to have a soft spot for the Princess!"
47."Is that so? Well, let's not deny him the pleasure of her company!"
48."Summoning now, Boss."
49.Khan powers up his staff and begins to swing at Eggman, only for Mecha Sally to block his blow.
50."I'm gonna crack you wide open--!--Sally?!"
51."Mecha Sally, actually...Still haven't come up with a good codename for her, though. "Princess X"..."Egg Sally"..."Acorn Annihilator"...The "Princessassin"...what do you think?"
52."...she's...she's been roboticized...?"
53."Affirmative."
54."Roboticized and weaponized. Didn't Sonic tell you? Anyway, attack. I have other business to attend to."

63.Meanwhile, Khan and Mecha Sally are squaring off, Khan trying to reason with his roboticized friend.

67."I have your file. Ken Khan. Subject of discontinued "Project Khan.""
68."Fight Eggman's programming, or whatever's controlling you! I know you're strong enough to break free! Please! You HAVE to! Eggman built me to be able to destroy ANY enemy! Don't make me destroy you."
69.Elsewhere, Eggman, Orbot, and Cubot approach Regina's prison well.
70."Regina! You're looking "well." HO-HO-HO!"

72."Of all my sub-bosses, I could tolerate you taking my throne most of all. I'd rather have another Overlander in power than some scruffy Mobian. You even have an interest in machines! But then you have to ruin it with that horribly unscientific "techy-magic.""

74."Yeah, well, good riddance."
75.Back to Khan and Sally's battle, he tries to electrocute her just enough to disable her.
76.Back to Eggman, he continues his chat with Regina.
77."But enough about you! Have you seen Snively? I've been looking everywhere for that little twerp!"
78."He's not here."
79."That's not what I asked you. Did he stop by?"
80."I'm not telling you anything."
81."I'll take that as a "yes." But that makes no sense. Why go through all this trouble, come all this way, and then go running off? Up until now, I was beginning to believe he actually DID love you..."
82.Back to Khan and Sally again, Khan's attempt to disable her failed and she fires a laser out of her forehead..
83."Firing "Boomfant.""
84.Khan blocks the laser and Mecha Sally suddenly powers down, causing her to fall.
85."SALLY!!"
86.He catches her and asks Eggman what is wrong with her.
87.Eggman says that their battle depleted her energy and she'll basically be dead once she runs out of reserve power.
88.Khan demands that Eggman get her a new battery, but he reveals that she doesn't run on batteries, but Power Rings.
89."Just like the one you use for a crown. Then again, you'd have to give up your advanced power and would be prone to being controlled again!"
90.Orbot whispers to Eggman that his meaning is understood.
91.Khan takes off his crown.
92."I don't care. I won't let her die."
93.Eggman flips open a slot on Mecha Sally's back.
94."Very noble of you. Here's the access port...just fit the Ring into the prongs there."
95.Khan does so and is then greeted by Mecha Sally's claw grabbing him by the neck.
96.Orbot brings Eggman the Egg Mobile that he "ordered" and Eggy proceeds to dig through the back compartment of it.
97."Now I know I had this tucked away for just such an occasion...AH-HA!"
98.He pulls out a new crown and puts it on Khan's head.
99."A shiny new Command Crown will get you back in line! A village conquered, an old pet project tamed, and a would-be usurper at the bottom of a well! I'd call this a good day!"
100.Suddenly, Eggman's joyous mood is broken by a loud "BA-WHOOMP!" in the distance.
101.The "BA-WHOOMP!"s continue louder and louder as something big approaches.
102."What is that?"
103."I'm not sure, Boss! All of our units are accounted for. So, unless someone has reactivated a piece of the region's ancient tech..."
104."Wait a minute..."ancient tech"? And Snively IS here, but unaccounted for...?"
105."Yes, sir."
106.Eggman gets a worried look on his face.
107."Oh, dear."
108.Suddenly, a HUGE titan dressed in green armor rises out the trees and heads straight for the well.
109.Eggman, of course, is shocked.
110."Egad!"
111.The titan uproots the entire well from the ground and breaks into Regina's chamber. Snively jumps in from it.
112."Snively?!"
113."I told you, my love! I'm done with Eggman! I've come for you! I threw the entire Dark Egg Legion into chaos! I braved G.U.N. and the United Federation! I secured a war machine of your land! This...ALL of this...was for YOU!"
114."You...came back...this is really all for ME?"
115."Of course, my darling queen! Let us never fight again!"
116.The two share a kiss.
117.Eggman, Orbot, and Cubot are unamused.
118."THIS is what the fuss is all about?"
119."Ew."
120."ARRR--! That not be natural!"
121."MMM--HMMM-HMMM--Would my Snivy-kins do just one more little thing for his adoring queen?"

My God Khan, did you ever think that maybe repowering the death machine that's trying to kill you with no backup plan was really a good idea? Its true, Love does make you stupid.

I honestly don't know who I want to win this; both parties are evil to the core, but Snively has sympathy points, but Eggman is just classy. I'm pretty sure Snively will just go neutral after this.

I suppose I'm one of the few people who's glad to see Regina again?

Also, Eggman is just so damn OP now. His city is devastated save for his Eggdome which he made into the Death Egg Mk. II. With just that one thing, he almost blows up Mobotropolis, robotizices Sally, tears through the United Federation like it was tissue paper, and screws up the Dragon Kingdom.

Now THAT is a threat to be reckoned with. Ever since he logic'd himself back to sanity, he's gotten more chaotic, more unpredictable, and his destructive power has gone up to 11.

I really want to know how this all turns out in the end.

Conquering Storm is the best original Archie character ever.

At the moment, she seems a lot like all the other female villains in the comic.

Really? She is only subordinate to Eggman and, for all intents and purposes, works to undermine his command without directly violating it. She is clever as well as strong. She works for her own ends and always has shown to be working to gain strength. A female is the embodiment of strength for an entire clan of males. She commands strength in what looks like an all-boys club and they fear as well as respect her. Iron Queen had to at least work with some Ram hulk thing to command that respect and she was nowhere near as smart as Storm. Lien-Da is just Eggman's secretary. She is a strong villainous female without being subjected to any overt sexist displays(Looking at Lien-Da here) and does not let any patriarchal figure show her up without the proper force with the exception of Eggman because he could destroy her clan in seconds. She is awesome and has character. Honestly, since the whole Iron Queen thing, maybe she could be a female Big Bad on the same level as Ixis and Mongul.

Not exactly. Ixis and Mogul have nigh-godlike powers, so she'd need something herself in order to compare with them powerwise.

But other than that...eh, dunno.

Naugus's Crystal magic was capable of taking control of Titan Metal/Metal Sonic Kai, and capable of wiping out sheer amounts of nanites.

Naugus is like the ultimate weopon against Eggman, however, his magic doesn't effect all metal. His magic didn't even scratch the Death Egg MK 2, it's most likely made out of something very powerful.
