Thought Gametrailers score of 6.4 was bad? British newspaper Guardian gives it a 3/5, which is essentially a 6/10, joining Gamekult who also gave it a 6/10.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2010/nov/11/sonic-colours-wii-game-review

.. Eh. 3/5 is a fairly okay score. I'm always iffy about grades that rate on a five scale because if you have to represent an opinion with a nummerical value already atleast do it with some insight.

That's not low by the way. We can talk low once any review hits atleast a 5/10. Like GameTrailers and Gamekult, this simply means above average.

Has anyone tried the Wii Remote alone control method yet?

I do. It's pretty comfortable. The onlky issues I had were getting used to hitting the B button, and just the thickness of the D-Pad on the Wiimote. Dammit Nintendo, why not just make a normal fucking D-Pad?

I'll be switching to GC controller soon. I need to buy one first.

Edit:

Staying on topic, it seems that all of the negative reviews are just whinging about issues that don't exist. I got the game myself and don't give a shit what they think, but I just want this game to sell well. I'll be worried if it tanks.

Eh? What's wrong with the D-pad? I thought Nintendo controllers have the best ones.

The D-pad on the Wiimote is thick as hell, the one on the DSi and Classic Controller Pro are great because of how thin and big they are.

No idea.. I definitely never had problems with it. My problems were more with the shape of the Wiimote being uncomfortable when held sideways to play games. Although, bigger would've been better, but then the whole Wiimote would have had to be made bigger.

Sorry guys, I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree mostly with the GameTrailers review... I'm not feeling this game at all. Back to Sonic 4 for me.

That's nice, so guys, how'd you feel about Sonic Colors having nearly all the content Sonic 4 Episode 1 had and even more?

Would you kindly stop being a douchebag? I see these kinds of responses from you time and time again and I don't think anybody appreciates this.

Eh, if douche baggery is what you want to call it, by all means, go ahead, but since he decided to bring up Sonic 4, I thought it would be nice to bring up a small discussion about it.

To be fair I did not expect this game to please everyone...Some people like Sonic Adventure 2 more than Sonic3&K. Some people like Sonic 06 more than Sonic 2.

Opinions XD

But by no means is this game fail like the past games, I remember when we were LUCKY to get anything higher than a 6 :V. If 2 or 3 people don't like it that's better than almost everyone hating on it and 2 or 3 people liking it.

Even though Sonic 4 didn't go as plan people got games to fall back on if they didn't like either one of the big timers this year...I say that a success on SEGA's part ^^

That's the first time I've come across someone prefering episode 1 over Colors. But hey to each his own.

I will say 1 more thing though....this also has a lot to do with Video Game Complacency that been happening over the years. I still don't get how Kirby's Epic yarn...which was pretty much an eaze fest...appealed so many people, but I like a bit of toughness in my platforming. (and Replay Value/Mastering)

If the game is getting scrutinized cause its "hard" I will call BS and tell you to suck it up. I'm getting sick of videogames handing you everything on a platter and holding your hand in every "hard" thing that comes up. From what I played, Sonic Colors is the kind of hard I like to see and was the kind of hard that I enjoyed in the Gene Days.

Sonic 4 is also a eaze fest to me and was very disappointing in the "difficulty" department.

While agreeing with the score is fine, GT literally lied through their teeth throughout the entire review, and repeatedly made mountains out of anthills.

Out of curiosity, what was it that you didn't like, and which 3D game is your favorite?

That's the first time I've come across someone prefering episode 1 over Colors. But hey to each his own.

Dude, the game comes out tomorrow in the UK, Tuesday in the US, today in Australia, the only people who have even played it outside Australia are people like me who pre-ordered and got lucky enough to get it early... There's a long way to go before we'll see what the 'general consensus' is for this game, and nearly all publications have given S4e1 a higher rating than Colours. Unless you're talking about people 'preferring' a game based entirely on seeing footage online, I don't think you have much behind that statement...

Where did they lie? Mountains out of molehills, that's how I felt about people's negative responses to Sonic 4's physics on here, funnily enough...

I've gone into more detail in the Impressions topic. :) My favourite 3D Sonic.... Either SA1 or Unleashed... Possibly SA2 if you cut out all the emerald hunting and stuff.

I'm curious as to why you don't know which one already. From some of his posts it seems somewhat obvious.

Terrible controls. They spent the whole damn review whining about them. The controls were just fine.

Regarding Sonic 4, the physics were shit, and killed the game for me.

I'll be perfectly honest here: I have no clue how you could possibly like Unleashed more than this. It's superior in every aspect.

I was recommending that Dissident should look at your previous posts to see what 3D game you like the most, it seems as if everyone bet you are making it seem as if I'm trying to be a douche, even when you, the person that I could be acting like a douche towards to if I decided to, doesn't even understand my posts or the reasoning of them.

I'm going with Sean's comment about you.

Because I was being nice to another user and recommending him/her to do something to find out what they want to know? My my, I'm such a meanie.
