I remember Sega promising to make 2 of 3 BIG announcements. If Sega thinks Sonic and Sega all stars racing on iphone is something that can be considered a BIG announcement then I don't know anything about BIG announcements..
I mean, really? An another port of a game which was released a while ago is A BIG game? Lol.

They did say big, yeah:

"But to your point, we have some announcements in the early part of next year that will further support and add to this strategy. There will be two of three big Sonic announcements in the early part of next calendar year."

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/280468/news/3-major-sonic-announcements-in-early-2011/

I personally wouldn't consider these ports and the Sonic Cricket mobile game "big" announcements, but with their huge new focus on digital download games, then it wouldn't surprise me if at least 1 of these ports is one of the big Sonic announcements. Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing isn't a 'Sonic' game, so that shouldn't be one of the announcements.

It's not exactly 'early' being March now is it? I'd have thought they were going to announce something to be released on Sonic's Birthday, and if so they're running out of time to hype it up like crazy. (which I have a feeling they'll be doing) I mean this is the big 20! Sonic hasn't had that big an anniversary for 10 years. Unless you count the spazgasm of plip that turned out as '06. (rly gd gme btw)

I'll be annoyed if SAR is one of these "special announcements", as it's been said - it's nothing "special" nor really that interesting. But I still have faith in Sega that it is not; they're not that cruel...

Maybe next time when SEGA leaks something, we should thank them instead of calling them stupid. :P

Rumour: Sonic Anniversary coming to 3DS
http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sonicparadise.net%2F2011%2F02%2Fpodcast-la-hora-del-erizo-sonic.html

http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.soniczone.com.br%2Findex.php%3Foption%3Dcom_k2%26view%3Ditem%26id%3D401%3Asonic-anniversary-%3D-sonic-3ds%3F%26Itemid%3D150

Remember the guys at Sonic Paradise who reported that a SEGA rep told them about a title called Sonic Anniversary coming to Wii, DS, PSP and PS3, with an Xbox 360 version to be confirmed? Well, apparently they were also told it was coming to 3DS, a detail which seems to have got lost during the inital reports.

If true, then that 3DS game may just be a version of this game, rather than its own game.

“We want to team up with multi-territory partners in publishing, apparel and collectibles such as trading card games and stickers,” said Henno. “We also have interest in categories such as wheeled items, outdoor sporting goods and bedding in the UK and internationally.”

From Woun's article.

Lol, wheeled items what? Sporting goods, okay. And bedding like a Sonic comforter on sale in department stores, okay.

Wait he said publishing and card games? Finally a Sonic card game! More of those licensed books from the '90s?

I hope this is cool and not just more Burger King deals or something. Could be awesome!

Wheels eh? ASR2 confirmed loz. Sounds like a potential fast food promotion to me. Wow it's like it's 1994 all over again.

A TCG? Really? That sounds fun, can't wait to "summon" Dr. Eggman by paying 7 Chaos Emeralds, 3 eggs, 5 Burgers and 10 cans of Dr. Pepper.

On the other hand, I hope this means GOOD renders in commercials and stuff.

I'm cool with a Sonic TCG as long as they realize there are two markets to appeal to here, the Sonic kids who will buy it because Sonic is cool, and the card flops who will get into it because it's a good game. Just make the art sharp and original and have the game not suck. I've got a good card game mechanic for you Sega!

Card games on hoverboards.

No, please. First motorcycles, now hoverboards? Just give us the hoverboards. That'll do it.

A Sonic trading card game? This has the potential to be great. :)

I have a Sonic X trading card deck that my friend got me for my birthday sitting on my shelf. Why on earth do people continue to insist that there has been no Sonic card game before? Ignorance, I tell ye.
