Nintendo's announced a new Kirby games today for Wii in Japan and it looks similar to the axed Gamecube game, apart from the lack of co-op characters. No details at the moment except that it's planned for release this year in Japan, it's being made by HAL and the below trailer.

Amazing News!!!! this made my day!! sad to hear the lack of co-op characters =( however is that....the return of copy mixing? ala crystal shards??? thats not a normal sword copy ability, (you see the normal one at the start) its like its mixed with something else...same goes with the fiery one.

So the "water" copy ability is confirmed, also...cowboy? AWESOME!

=D

This is really a surprise. I wasn't expecting Wii to get another Kirby game at all. This looks really great. Water Kirby. Cannon Kirby. BUT the awesomest: Indiana Jones Kirby!!

Sword Kirby's hat was changed a bit. And there are special attacks it seems. And what is that in the upper left corner?

And what Azukara said,

It hasnt changed, that is some sort of upgraded sword ability, or sword mixed with something. You can see the normal sword hat at the very beggining. 0:03 =3

Huh, so the hat only changes when he uses he special attack.

Oh, and I wish Kirby would still change colors when he gets powers. Or it'd be cool if you could change his colors like in the GBA and DS ones. I want grape Kirby =3

Looks cool. Super attacks, new powers, and Kirby being Kirby. KEY looked nice and all, but I really do prefer the more traditional Kirby gameplay. Looks like it's controlled with the sideways Wiimote, tho'...I kinda hope there's a classic controller or Wiichuck option, but Nintendo's got such a boner for their controller gimmicks so I dunno...

Oh no. Nintendo will want to use the totally innovational idea of making you shake the controller to use those super attacks.

I seriously doubt this'll be WiiWare.

I'm not going to lie; I came into this topic expecting to lock it because I thought someone made a duplicate topic on Kirby's Epic Yarn.

Since I didn't see who posted it, I was expecting someone to be asking what happened to the original Kirby Wii.

Holy shit. All we need now is Half-Life Episode 3 to be announced and 2011 will be the year of vaporware revival.

Also is that some Metroid escape music I hear at the end?

Holy crap. Classic Kirby with sucking powers is back with all new abilities? This is an immediate buy for me. I really hope it'll come out early this year, hopefully, over the summer. It looks amazing!
