I stumbled across these great pictures of JazWares' booth at the 2011 UK Toy Fair. And I am stunned. JazWares sure knows how to make me go broke. They're celebrating Sonic's 20th in style with some of the most anticipated figures ever. The blue 'hog has evolved over the years, and JazWares pays homage by making a set of "Sonic Through Time" figures. Each figure contains a Sonic from a different design era, and is packaged in a box themed after the games that the Sonic is from. Here's a prototype of 1991 Sonic. I love the box! Green Hill Zone FTW!

Now, we have the good old Dr. Robotnik, who comes with a small army of EggRobos! I never would have guessed we'd see figures of those! But if you prefer the more current Eggman, he will come with his robots from the opening cutscene of Sonic Unleashed. And what's that on the left? Modern Tails with a very Sonic 4-esque Badnik! It looks like it's for Sonic Colors, but I don't remember seeing that Badnik anywhere. Sonic 4 part 2, perhaps?

Well, since these figures were shown at the Toy Fair in London, I assume they're planning on releasing them there.

Tomy distributes Jazwares figures in the UK, so it's likely Tomy will get these if they're showing them at a UK toy fair.

Buckles are in the right place, just his head is twisted backwards. Take a look at the thumbs :P

They all look to be in the very early stages, so they likely won't hit stores for a while yet.

Right that would make sense. Thank you very much!

also do I notice another 10 inch casing there like the Sonic one just released, with a different casing? Maybe we are getting 10 inch ones of these too.

Fantastic! More money to give to Jazwares! Not that I'm complaining.

So we have:

Sonic Through Time 1991 - Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic Through Time 2008 - Sonic Unleashed
Classic Eggman with EggRobo
Modern Eggman with Egg Fighter robots
"Sonic Colors" Tails with Sandworm badnik (as seen in the Asteroid Coaster stage)

Who wants to place bets on other Sonic Through Time figures? I don't think we'll see a Sonic 3 design, as it's not very different from the Sonic 1 figure. I'll bet we'll get:

Sonic 1991
Sonic 1998/1999
Sonic 2006 (either Sonic '06 or Sonic Riders design)
Sonic 2008 (Unleashed)
Sonic 2011 (tied in with the upcoming game)

12" Classic Sonic??

Mostly old already released stuff, are thos plush toys new? Off to the right is a Shadow and ???? comic 2-pack.

To the right is a mystery figure box! I can't tell what it is, but I see Sonic, a classic Sonic the Hedgehog logo and... a red/yellow background thing. Is it the Tornado??

Posted Image

EDIT: Did some photoshop distorting and found the mystery box to be (I'm assuming) a Sonic, Knuckles and Tails 3 pack. I assume that these will be a repack of the existing STK figures, unless Jazwares did 3.5" retro figures of all three.

Looking at the Shadow comic pack to the right, looks like he'll be packed with Silver as the comic matches the Sonic Universe #25 cover:

Posted Image

EDIT: also, does that 12" modern Sonic seen above behind the classic Sonic figure have a weird "fur" texture? You know the one I mean, that light fur texture that they put on figures in the 80's. Lint magnets!

Looks like the Sonic and Shadow plushes are new. Their tags both carry the 20th Anniversary emblem.
