What can I say? This stage predicted the future.

And come on, if the final boss song has to be an orchestral remix of a theme, wouldn't it just be awesome to hear an epic, orchestral, minor-key version of "It Doesn't Matter"? Come on SEGA, make this one a winner.

That'd be pretty slick! Better yet, I remember how Jun Senoue said that, when developing the music for future Sonic games, he wanted Sonic to have one main theme, like Mario, rather than have so many, and in the future, he'd want to try and do just that (I don't have the exact link, whoever can back me up on this gets cookies). Perhaps a new version of It Doesn't Matter can be this game's primary theme (like how Reach for the Stars was the main theme of Colors), and can finally take the place as Sonic's definitive theme? I dunno, I'm just throwing ideas out there, I think it'd be great for an old song to return as the theme of this game, especially one that defines Sonic's character so well.

I remember him saying he'd think about doing that in the future. The series is very often quite disjointed, so one or two more staple tracks, including a main theme, would go down a treat. That'd be pretty slick! And I was just thinking. Remember how SA1 and SA2 used the same/similar invincibility music and then Heroes used it again but mixed it's own theme tune into it? That needs to happen.

While I want to see new stages based on the old levels, areas, and motifs, rather than outright remakes, I still want old stage music to return, remixed and remastered, and there's way too many great examples that I'd like to see return. But in addition to this, I also want to hear vocal themes return. It Doesn't Matter and Open Your Heart are 2 songs that NEED to come back for this.
And come on, if the final boss song has to be an orchestral remix of a theme, wouldn't it just be awesome to hear an epic, orchestral, minor-key version of "It Doesn't Matter"? Come on SEGA, make this one a winner.
I raise you an epic video game climax of 3 continuous boss fights in a row, each featuring an individual orchestrated remix or arrangement of 1: It Doesn't Matter, 2: Live and Learn, and then, 3: Open Your Heart (but not necessarly in that order though).
I swear, if Sega/Sonic Team doesn't do this, I just might have to make that arrangement myself. Really Orchestrated with real instruments or not, my GS Soundfont and Anvil Studios will have to do. (but then again, I really should finish the other 2 remixes of His World I started a few years ago...along with Flowering Night...and Lost Woods... and a bunch of others. Actually, I have quite the backlog now that I think of it.

Another version of 'open your heart'? No matter what any human or fan says, that was sonic best theme by far. It had more meaning in that song then anything else in sonic's history.
Yeah, brought me into Environmentalism instantly.
Seriously, what's up with that lyrics?! Pretty horrifying for little kids, ain't it?

This style sounds like a mix of old and new.

Eh, it just sounds like an Advance 2 reject, don't see how it's a mix of old and new really. Advance 2 had an awesome soundtrack mind, but I wouldn't want more of that for this game.*Leaf Strom beta*

As Classic Sonic's theme. It'd be kickass.

While some may think that SEGA are going overboard with the whole "Z0mG CLASSIK RETR0 SAWNIK" stuff that's been released so far, at least we can be sure Generations will feature it's fair share of music more associated with modern Sonic too.

I did like the two instrumentals of "It Doesn't Matter" in Black Knight particulary the one before the final boss, I don't want to hear the lyrical version all of the time, but a little snippet of it to be used as Sonic's main lemotif would be boss.
I hope the act clear music comes back, you know the one I'm talking about, the only theme that's remain constant in almost all of the games(Sonic 3-Sonic 4), hell even 06 had it, it would be a crime if it didn't come back.

Metropolis Zone. Nuff' said.
That somehow reminds me of The Hives, for some reason.
