Bearing mind that Colours was sqaurely aimed at the younger crowd from all all fronts and Generations seems to aimed at older folk (HD consoles, C.Sonic), I can see the writing being more to everyone's tastes. I wouldn't worry about that. The only thing that worries me in this giant wave of information... I don't expect a full blown story like final fantasy or 06 but I also hope the story doesn't follow the same line as colors did. Colors basically just had sonic cracking jokes at the boss for a good 3rd of the time with the occasional story element which was usually covered by a last second joke. I actually hope they follow the way unleashed did it and have those small light hearted and funny moments in between but also has a decent story behind it. Maybe even have a plot twist that isn't just (robotnik isn't the real final boss, this giant monster is!) too. I know a lot of people liked color's story and even I found myself chuckling a few time through it but I 'm just saying that a little edge wouldn't hurt. Thats just my opinion though.

I don't think...making anything HD means anything for the older fokes (unless your a tech geek thats different). Just liked to pointed that out lol but I do know what you mean. This game seems to be made to those who knew Sonic's history and proud to be apart of those 20 years.

Making the game HD means nothing. I said HD consoles, meaning the PS3 and 360, which have a far more mature audience than the Wii does, and the Wii isn't getting this game.I don't think...making anything HD means anything for the older fokes (unless your a tech geek thats different). With all the blatant nostlagia that this game is swimming in, I don't think the user-base is the reason this game might feature more mature jokes.Making the game HD means nothing. Most people who are fangasming at this are in their mid-late teens and 20's

Aha, so you can play truly classic like or like SA1. I was wondering how he performed a spin dash while running in the footage. I wonder also if tapping X while already rolling uncurls you...Using an Xbox 360 controller as a reference point, the A button jumps while pressing down and A performs a spin dash. This move has also been mapped to the X button, trading authenticity for simplicity.
Woo! Tricks are back, and properly! I wonder if they replace the Unleashed style QTEs. In the footage from the Spanish interview (last bit of footage before the fish case) Sonic goes off of a rainbow ramp but unlike Colours (and yellow ramps in Unleashed) nothing of much interest happens. That's where you get the option to trick then. This meter can be refilled by knocking out enemies and performing tricks in mid-air -- done simply by moving the two analog sticks in different directions -- after hitting a rainbow-colored jump ramp.
Best game ever. There are a lot of small nods however, such as the return of classic Sonic enemy Crabmeat, who does a little dance for joy if he happens to steal some of the hedgehog's rings.
So the others are in the story from the start? Good to hear.the story opens with Sonic "and his friends" being pulled into a rift in time by a "mysterious power."

Colours. Some of the enemies do it there for sure. Seeing it as a returning 'feature' is nothing short of brilliant though. One of the other recent games would have the badniks celebrate their little achievements.... I cant recall if it was Colors or 4 though....

Mmm...let me think...maybe Sonic is with Tails, then Shadow appears and wants to settle some things with Sonic, then, during the fight, this "rift of time" appears pulling all of them. But maybe more than one opens, dragging some of the other characters along

Alternatively we could just get something like '06 where it cuts to each group of people. And I somehow doubt everyone will be shown getting taken through the rift at once. Like we'll see Sonic and Tails getting pulled through, but later in te story you come across Cream who says she was pulled through too.Mmm...let me think...maybe Sonic is with Tails, then Shadow appears and wants to settle some things with Sonic, then, during the fight, this "rift of time" appears pulling all of them. C'mon, Colours's script wasn't all that bad...certainly better than what we've heard before. About Modern Sonic? Yeah, I feel the same as you.I'm rather worried by this. It sounds like Modern Sonic gameplay is going to have the same problems as before.
I'm also worried by this. Hopefully this time they'll be targeting the game at everyone rather than just little children.
What is pretty epic is that C. Sonic can switch planes like LittleBigPlanet!! Awesome.
Who gives a rat's ass on what MTV say! They ain't no games company.MTV failed at their report on the teaser, now they fail in their report on the game itself.

Way to be a journalist! Citing gamerankings to access what makes a good game. Guess the dude never played Colors?
Rings?
A-hem, why not aim for the quality of the Genesis games?
$60 is a high price tag for a fully 3D/2D Sonic anniversary title?

How about they just make it simple and have all the Sonic characters that are going to be in the game discuss what they want for lunch.Alternatively we could just get something like '06 where it cuts to each group of people. And I somehow doubt everyone will be shown getting taken through the rift at once. Like we'll see Sonic and Tails getting pulled through, but later in te story you come across Cream who says she was pulled through too.

That could happen too. Alternatively, if they were altogether they'd likely be in the middle of a fight with Eggman, like in Unleashed and Chronicles. How about they just make it simple and have all the Sonic characters that are going to be in the game discuss what they want for lunch.

Well we know the writers will make something somewhat humorous, I don't expect a serious intro so if it's a fight with Eggman I'm sure it'll have a bit of humor. That could happen too. I'm going to laugh when the Sonic Colors writers make a U-turn and make Sonic Generations have a serious tone with a hint of humor LOL. Mephilies kills 2 hedgehogs? That's Double the soloaris...and THEN THERE IS A HUGE MONSTER FIGHT! Both Sonics' are resurrected with Both Amys' making SWEET LOVE TO THEM! AND THEN ALL THE SONIC CHARACTERS TURN SUP- *shot*

Sorry, but I disagree. As far as I'm concerned, there are a lot of Sonic games that have a better script than Colors.C'mon, Colours's script wasn't all that bad...certainly better than what we've heard before.
However, since this game's target audience is different, I believe (or at least hope) that the writers will do a better job with Generations.

Hmm, good point...Colours was aimed a mainly 6-12 year old Mario fans/Children (hence why it was Wii exclusive). Generations is exclusive to the HD consoles, so yeah, there's a chance of mostly older teens/adults buying this game...If the script was the same as Colours in this game, it'll appear very, VERY cheesy in their eyes (or ears to be exactSorry, but I disagree. Then again, most cartoons nowadays have quite a lot of innuendo but I think they're mostly rated PG instead of U...but I don't know, the ratings for animations/films are very different to games.
