SEGA's 2012 Plans?

From the Sega Blog...

Games? As in... more than one?

Now... was that just a figure or speach... or have they let the kitty out of the bag? *speculation, it's a wonderful thing*

I think they mean all that in general. As a part of what these events are. previously it was Sonic 4, Sonic Colors then Sonic Generations. Now it could be something else.

I think this year these games may be Sonic 4 Ep 2 [if the release date will be later than said events] or/and some new title which is not announced atm.

The Oxford English Dictionary of Sega words

Yes: Confirmation. It's happening, we've made an official announcement either via our own outlets or via an eclusive deal to a third party news agency. We can confirm your query.

No: Confirmation. It's not happening. We are not doing the suggested. Examples are as follows, 'are you making a Sonic MMO?' 'Are you making a Knuckles game?' 'Are you making Dreamcast 2?' 'Are you making/any plans for Sonic Adventure 3.'

No Comment: Confirmation, it's happening, it's in the making, we're just not at a stage to talk about it yet. If it were not happening we would say so. As is the way of Sega. Examples, Sonic Unleashed following the FTP leak, Sonic Generations following the line from the Sega Spain rep.

Mexican Community Manager: Comic relief.

Not that I have something to your definitions but in 2010 Iizuka said in interview when asked about SA3 "No. There are no plans" but in April 2011 when asked the same questions he said "No Comment".

Tracker just posted this in the statuses.

Start Your Engines for a Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Sequel

Publisher Sega will release a sequel to Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing this holiday season, Kotaku has learned.

Toys associated with the franchise were displayed in a booth at the Toy Fair in New York this Sunday, where an attendant confirmed that Sega is making a sequel to the franchise-crossing kart racing game. There will be new characters and vehicles revealed later this year.

YYYYYYEEEESSSSSSSS! :D I'm SO excited to hear more about this and see what other characters Sumo can throw into the mix. (I'm also quite excited to see some of that new merch at Toy Fair that the article hinted at. ;))

Hell yeah! Give me NiGHTS, Segata Sanshiro, NiGHTS, Ristar, and Gillius Thunderhead and that's all I need.

I wonder if Sumo is developing again? More than likely, but you never know.

I'm still gonna wait a bit. I'm still expecting it to be an updated port.

Hi Sonic! What are you doing with your new Sonic toys in the top left corner of this photo?

I bet those are the Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing sequel toys. The background on the boxes looks like the first game's menu background.

Lol its a good thing you pointed it out, I didn't even notice sonic. Well we finally have our first look at the sonic figures... now we just need to figure out what they are.

Eh nothing to get excited about seeing as the only thing recognizable are two Shadow artworks and what looks like the first game's boxart.

I'm more interested in what appears to be Luigi on his MKWii motorbike on the edges of the two middle shelves. Seems odd to have that on a Sonic-headlined shelf block

I'm personally more excited for the Mars Attacks figures... .. .. I didn't even notice Sonic when I first posted the picture in the status updates =p

My girlfriend on the otherhand noticed Sonics feet before the Mars Attacks figures... I think we both need help =p

Spotted at the Jazwares booth.

Still trying to find some photos of the Sonic toys, right now people are taking pics of other stuff and Sonic is sorta creeping into them. I don't think those are anything new though, looks like the 20th anniversary line.

Although if thats the old Eggman + Metal Sonic pack, might indicate they're going to re-release some older figures that match with episode 2.

if the image isn't showing, try visiting here.

oh gosh, I loved this game, I would kill someone for having a sequel...and of course an opportunity to see some more love for Shenmue and Ryo Hazuki! :)

this is what I'd like to see

- Of course more characters, such as NiGHTS, Gilius, Bayonetta, Blaze the cat,

Astal and Joe Musashi

- some tracks from the first game, as well as new tracks from more franchises

- A little more emphasis in speed

- Option to change weather in stages (could be cool)

- a second personal vehicle for every character and an option to customize and

upgrade a bit

- A Story mode with funny interaction and even some boss battles

and now here's the things I'd like to be updated:

- more original weapons, and more in number

- frame rated enhanced

- Grand Prix for more players

2012:

All Stars Racing 2

Sonic 4 Ep. 2

the year of 2's, the year of "first" sequels to very good games

sounds amazing to me

also, a sort of "left out pack" for Generations (or an upgraded new release) with Ice Cap, Casino Night and Final Rush , as well as act 3-4 for every level, frame rate fixied, online mode, improved story, different playable characters, classic physics fixed, would definitely make my year

I hope to see a fully fledged "Daylight" Modern sonic game in HD. It's just insane what can be done there.

Hope that they use an even more dynamic music system like the example a guy in sonicretro made, where depending on what route or how fast you're going the whole song accomodates to it, and also disabling the hi-filter when you boost since it always 'ruins' the amazing tracks in Unleashed and Generations.

SEGA has VERY big plans for 2012-2013. But I'm not going to tell anyone here. Nobody would believe me,anyway.

Though I can you guys this: SEGA of Japan has NO interest in the Wii U. SEGA is also changing its entire 3rd party platform business structure to mainly digital, mobile and PC only, and SEGASammy will be disbanded by the end of the year as SEGA is forming an alliance with a new company. Which will be a......I've said too much wink.png
