Episode Metal should've featured freedom fighters as enemies, with Metal Sonic joining up with Metal Knuckles at the end. The chase is on... or it would've been

About Me
I'm a bit of a dork; I really like technology, history, sci-fi and such, and I really like my videogames. I also kinda like animé, a lil bit of manga and some other graphic novels, but my interest in them has waned of late.
I don't know what else to say now, so if you want to know anything else, message me or check out my Interests or something.

I always like to know what's going on in the world. =] Politics, wars, natural disasters, long-awaited electronic product launches, gaffes and riots, uprisings and suppressions. I don't find everything interesting of course, but in general I like to be up-to-date on things.
- History -
I really and truly love to learn about the past, be it the Earth's early life and the Great Bombardment; the Cambrian Explosion; the era of giant arthropods and other insects; Dinosaurs and Marine Reptiles; Terror Birds and post-Dinosauric evolution; early man and its many early civilisations, the rise of Europe and the great empires of the past 500 years, the conquest of the Americas or the recent World Wars.
History, to me, is an utterly fascinating subject.
- Music -
I really enjoy listening to music from a variety of genres. I like the classical music of people like Hans Zimmer and Thomas Newman used in the movies Gladiator and Road To Perdition, I like videogame music from people such as Kenji Yamamoto or Koji Kondo, and I like remixes of said VG music from artists like DarkeSword or DJPretzel.
I love to listen to traditional music as well of course, not just soundtracks; favourite artists include Blue October, Mumford & Sons, Sigur Rós, Idlewild, Michael Jackson, They Might Be Giants, Kerli, Linkin Park, Mumford & Sons, Delerium and After Midnight Project.
Musical genres I like include Celtic music, Alternative, Ambient/Dream Pop, Rock, Metal, Soundtracks, Classical (sometimes), Folk and some others I can't recall right now. Music I can't stand mainly includes anything which predominantly relies on mindless, tuneless screaming. Death or Black Metal, Screamo etc are genres I simply cannot abide.
- Reading -
I love to read as well. Absorbing myself into somebody else's world, into their life, into their thoughts and their actions; it's a great thing to do to escape (albeit temporarily) my everyday life.
I like both Fiction and Non-Fiction. Authors I especially enjoy reading include (though are not limited to) Adam Roberts, Carl Sagan, George Friedman, Max Brooks, Paul Strathern, Robert Cowley, Joseph J. Ellis and Timothy Zahn. Books in particular that I love include New Model Army, Farenheit 451, Star Wars: Heir to the Empire / Dark Force Rising / The Last Command, I Am Legend, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, The Forever War, The Next 100 Years, Wanted, Watchmen, World War Z: An Oral History of The Zombie War, and various books regarding the early history of the US like Facing East From Indian Country, and Passionate Sage: The Character And Legacy of John Adams.
- Science Fiction -
I /love/ sci-fi. I love imagining what the future might be like, and I love reading and watching what great people like Ray Bradbury, Robert Cowley, Isaac Asimov, Dmitry Glukhovsky and others think it might be like. Catching glimpses of futures that may or may never be through books, videogames, television shows and movies is and will always be fascinating to me, as is reading about what it might /really/ be like through books like The Next 100 Years by George Friedman.
- Technology -
I really like to keep up-to-date in my knowledge of present and future technological developments, as well as owning some (but certainly not nearly all!) of the day's electronic gadgets and gizmos.
- Television -
I really enjoy watching TV; it can be both funny and very informative, provided I don't watch dross like Britain's Got Talent or Big Brother.
I like comedies including The IT Crowd, Armstrong & Miller and Mitchell & Webb, historical dramas like Rome, John Adams and Band Of Brothers, modern dramas like Sherlock, documentaries like Horizon, Coast, The World At War and Walking With Dinosaurs, and of course the news and the BBC's own Newsnight.
I also thoroughly enjoy sci-fi shows like Fringe, Stargate SG-1, Farscape, Primeval and, up to a point, Star Trek.
- Videogames -
Ah videogames, my lifelong obsession and favourite escape from the rigors of daily life. <3 I do love my games.
I started my gaming life with the Sega MegaDrive II, though I had earlier experience with an Amstrad machine but I was too young to fathom how to operate it so remained uninterested until the bright, vibrant colours of Sonic 1 caught my eye.
From there I graduated to the PC (Win95) and original PlayStation, and from those platforms I headed to the GameBoy Colour, the N64, PC again (XP Home) and to the Dreamcast.
The GameCube and GameBoy Advance followed shortly thereafter, and there I remained for some years, occasionally upgrading, even outright replacing my PC until the DS and Wii arrived. After several more years, during which time the DS was replaced with a better model (the Lite), I grew into the Xbox 360 and built my first PC.
Though I look forward to the 3DS and Project Café with eager anticipation, I await the successors to- all- present generation videogame consoles with baited breath, and in the meantime I continue to thoroughly enjoy my videogames. =]
Favourite games of mine include Sonic 1-3 & Knuckles, Quake II, Metroid Fusion, the Metroid Prime Trilogy, Zelda: Wind Waker, Mario Galaxies 1 and 2, Metro 2033, Modern Warfare 2, Red Dead Redemption, IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey, Call of Juarez, the Mass Effect trilogy and many more. =D -
