About Me
About Me: I don't know(th) edition.
By: Burnt Ash, I think.
General Sonic fanbase and fan stuff that's related to me, I guess.
Just a fellow member of the SSMB since August 2011, although I do consider it to be October 2011 when I really started to get into the forum. I never really understood how forums worked and how to keep up with topics, so I guess you can thank notification settings for allowing me to remain here for about the past year and a half.
I suppose, like the majority of us, I am also a Sonic fan, with a bit of an interesting tale to tell. My liking towards the Sonic series is interesting in that the aspects in which I liked in the series has changed considerably especially in the last four years or so. I played Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Mega Collection years back, but I only really got into the franchise beginning with games like Shadow the Hedgehog or Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, despite my current dislike for both games. While I was getting back into Sonic, I would notice that each and every game I enjoyed, regardless of its flaws, I managed to enjoy it well. The story of Sonic 2006? Loved it. The story of Shadow the Hedgehog? Epic. The glitches of Sonic 2006? Fun. I suppose now would be the time to chastise my past self for my general ignorance of flaws or indeed a thorough lack of any sort of critical analysis whatsoever. If I had to make a list of all the Sonic games I've liked in the past, it would likely include all of them sans Sonic Heroes, Sonic and the Secret Rings, and Sonic Colors. Nowadays, it's much more simple to list the games I like, and I guess I can attribute that to a developing, critical sort of outlook on things, such as Sonic. I'd probably narrow the Sonic games I like considerably down to the following: Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Unleashed, and Sonic Generations. The rest I either don't particularly care for one way or another, or I just dislike them. I'd say both lists are just about even. I think this is somewhat of an interesting development, at least in regards to changes within me as a Sonic fan.
Especially as of late, I seem to have developed some kind of slight disinterest in Sonic, although I'm not completely sure if this is temporary or permanent. Perhaps it's things in Sonic games that I like to see that just aren't showing up anymore, or maybe the repetition of discussion and debate across the internet, or something along those lines. I love a good, fresh debate, as well as a Sonic game that would meet a good chunk of my interests in Sonic games, such as Sonic Unleashed (HD), for example. However, regardless of what my interest in Sonic looks like, I love the SSMB, and the general community of it, and it's probably why that even when I want to take a break, even when I want to leave to commit myself to increasing my productivity, I just can't. I've made several friends on this place, and I've come to love some of the debates and discussions we've had through the years, and I guess I'd like to be on the site for as long as I can, regardless of my connection with the Sonic franchise.
I believe the text below would, to an extent, describe me as I am in real life.
Well, I suppose that's enough of the standard Sonic fan About Me explanation, and I guess I'll probably go into who I am as a person, to some extent. Currently, I'm nearing the end of my 10th year in high school/secondary school, and it's given me a sort of melancholy mood, just like when my 9th year was coming to a close. Perhaps I'm realizing I have to grow up sooner or later, or maybe it's just the general bittersweet mood of leaving yet another year behind. But regardless, I've had some great moments this year, and I've also had quite a bit of time to reflect on myself and figure out just what I want to do in regards to the present and future. I've made new friends, both in real life as well as on the forums, and I've come to be a much more sociable person than I ever was in the past, so in that regard, I definitely appreciate a lot of the things I've accomplished this year, but at the same time, I know I still have lots to learn especially as the end of high school comes closer than ever.
In regards to academics, I guess I'd label myself as somewhat smart, yet plagued by the monster we all know and love, the one named procrastination. But regardless, I've been able to hold on considerably well (A's) in the high level classes (honors/Advanced Placement here in America), and I've also come to enjoy a good chunk of what I learn, whether it be the various perspectives of history, or the general complexities and power of mathematics, or the genuine interest I have for literature and science. I'm interested in all sorts of educational fields, to the point where it's difficult for me to determine sometimes what I want to do in the future. I enjoy writing a variety of different genres (except maybe narratives), I love mathematics for the most part, I am absolutely intrigued by many things science-related (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, you name it), and I have an enjoyment for reading several types of books, especially those in the fantasy, action-adventure, or classical genres. I've also grown an appreciation for understanding and applying international politics as well, especially throughout the past year. In this regard, this is what I mean when it comes to my interest in education. I enjoy learning a lot of things, and it's definitely reflected in my general attitude towards school and education in general.
I'm probably not one to talk about my personality as I don't really like to classify myself under a collection of words, however, if you've seen me post on the forums or talk on the Skype chat, I guess you'd probably know my general personality. I'm generally more expressive around my friends, and I suppose that's part of what defines me in regards to my personality. It's a bit of a complex thing to narrow down to just a few words, personality.
This should most likely be describing the Unofficial SSMB Skype Chat.
I believe I have mentioned the Skype chat previously on this page, so with that in mind, I might as well tell you that SSMB has an Unofficial Skype Chat. It's not affiliated with the forums in any way, but at the same time, it's a great way to get to know some of your fellow forum members and just discuss and talk in general. If you're interested in the Unofficial SSMB Skype Chat, ask one of the moderators to add you into the chat, and they'll do so. Who are these moderators? Well I shall name but a few.
I believe some people would call this something along the lines of "Miscellaneous".
Names that I've been previously known here as: thebluehedgehog, BlueChaos, Yacker the 2nd, Burnt Ash.
If you see any posts that say something like: "Edited by Burnt Ash (Yacker the 2nd)", that's not me. That would be your friendly neighbor Felix, with whom I decided to "switch" with on April Fools' Day, 2013.
You'd find me on or know me from:
TSSZ: sonichedgehog, thebluehedgehog, Burnt Ash.
The Sonic Stadium: sonichedgehog, thebluehedgehog, Yacker the 2nd, Burnt Ash.
Sonic Retro Message Boards: Burnt Ash.
Sega Forums: sonichedgehog.
YouTube: sssa206.
A satisfactory conclusion.
I guess this about me is now adequate, so with that in mind, see you on the forums and the Skype chat, and thanks for reading, I suppose.
