  1. Past hour
  2. “While I agree, I think the stealing souls part is much more important…” Magolor said to Mugman. “Is this devil still out there stealing souls or have they’ve been stopped?” He asked, crossing his arms. Magolor didn’t want to assume the devils gender. “If they are, I have some..choice words for them.” Magolor added in a threatening tone as magic sparked in his hands.
  3. "Eh, I've seen better" Bigby replied, as he stomped out his cigarette, and walked over to Luigi embedded into the sandy ground. The man proceeded to roll up his sleeve, revealing a rather hairy arm, before grabbing onto Luigi's leg. And with one arm, Bigby immediately pulled Luigi into the air, effortlessly pulling him out and even hanging him in the air for a few moments. It was clear he had incredible strength.
  4. "A theme park was one thing, but trying to convince impressionable children to gamble?! That was a step too far!" Mugman said in a righteous tone of voice, more concerned with the casino part than the 'trying to steal souls' part. Mugman was also holding a triple scoop ice cream, happily licking away at it between conversation pieces.
  5. "I..." Mecha paused, as he looked towards the group. He seemed surprised by the sudden apologies and invitation to join them. But it did remind him of his organic counterpart in a way too. The robot pulled his hood down, revealing some exposed wiring, metallic spikes, and a small piece of blue paint that hadn't fully turned to rust yet. "Yes...I believe I would like to accept this offer". The metallic hedgehog said, as he looked towards the girl. "...Thena. That is...a nice name". He said, trying to make small talk, although considerably awkward at it.
  6. "This is it, guys!" Maria looks dead ahead, noticing a steep incline... an incline going in on itself. The loop. "I'd rather fight a witch, thank yo-AAAGH!" Homura cries out as the car passes through the loop, sending everyone upside down!
  7. Yesterday
  8. “Well, I… hm… I suppose that would be an apt description, yes…” Nia relents, shrugging her shoulders and nodding at Lander. She isn’t shy about his compliment either, boosting her confidence. “And stunning, hm? I am pleased that I am appealing even after all this time.” She’s celebrating a lot more about this on the inside than the outside. “Nonsense, I can’t imagine it would be terribly difficult.” Nia waves her hand dismissively while shaking her head at Lander. “Besides, swimming is an activity offered here, and they advertised beautiful reefs, if I remember correctly.” She taps her chin while looking at the water in thought.
  9. "I-I could try something. Francis Drake told me that masters are capable of performing minor spells ourself." Before Lander could even finish that sentence, a blue magic circle formed under the groups feet and they could feel a gentle warm air helping them dry faster. Though judging from Landers reaction, he didn't expect that. "Oh...did I do that? Odd. Nero and Drake aren't capable of performing tricks like that..." "Oh, Mr Wright? It's good to see you too. We saw Maya back in Delfino Plaza, so Artoria must be here too? I hope Nero doesn't cause any trouble for her. Nero seems to get very competitive when she's around somebody she considers a rival." He sheepishly told the lawyer. When Lander turns to face Nia, he goes quiet for a second. ".....Heh. Nia...you look stunning and give off an air of maturity. But you still tease me for being so clumsy. It's like you've changed, but are still the same. I'm truly glad to see you are doing well." "H-Huh? I couldn't ask you guys to do that. This is supposed to be a vacation, I'd hate to take your valuable time away like that. I-I do appreciate the offer." Though he outwardly seemed reluctant, he couldn't admit that getting to spend time with his friends casually would've been a lovely experience.
  10. Yawn. Wake me when they finally port it to the Ouya.
  11. Yeah, this exactly. AI is going to keep advancing so long as businesses seek new excuses not to pay people money, and it looks like they will. Probably the only sure way to stop the alarming growth of AI is to repeal minimum wage laws and institute universal basic income to make up the difference, because if that isn't done, human employees will only get less and less desirable to employers. Also, I think people who are skeptical of claims that AI will threaten humanity are assuming those claims entail things like Terminator or The Matrix. I don't think scenarios like that are likely. But something like Wall-E, I could definitely see happening. As to what this weird X chain is, I'd normally assume it's a troll being intentionally wrong to provoke reactions, but some of the grammar would point more towards AI.
  12. “Toys Party” may be used as the Japanese market name similar to “World Adventure” or “Sonic Toon”, with “Rumble” being a more “appealing/hardcore” name for international audiences. And again, legal reasons.

    Sonic Shower Thoughts

This recently occurred to me. The literal definition of monotreme pertains to their... well, to put it politely, posterior anatomy. The Sonic universe contains sentient echidnas and platypuses. How do they feel about their respective species being classified in such a manner? (I am trying desperately not to give in to the temptation to make rude jokes on the subject.)
  14. Considering it's supposedly going to be mostly a Switch 2 in a lot of ways, I'm all on board. Switch itself was a pretty great decision for the time, but you could tell 90% of the 3rd-party (and some of the 1st/2nd-party looking at you Xenoblade 2) either ran like ass, looked like ass or both at the same time. I really like the form factor of the original Switch, but I hate how it performed, so beefing it up with better, more modern hardware that lets you do essentially tech magic to improve the image quality and framerates should be the priority and I'm glad that that's what they're doing. But for the love of god make joycons not crumble and drift after 2 months of use, I really hate using those compared to literally any other controller. Hell, that's one of the main reasons why I haven't used my Switch for more than a year now outside of a session or 2 of Ring Fit Adventure.
  15. Yup. From doing some quick googling via lens, it’s from a Dude on Twitter. from a personal perspective though, I find this Dumb. This undermines the Actual uniqueness of the game, and makes it cheaper than the actual game. From how I bought it (Switch, Physical, 39.99), you’re telling me, that I could’ve waited 2 years to play it on a shotty port? No thanks, I’d like to respect the work put in making this game. And I’m wondering if SEGA even gave the Green Light to do this, because no show on Netflix has to do with Mania. Prime Dash was prime, so why Mania?
  16. I'm quite happy with my Switch. Don't know what they can do to tempt me to buy another one. There's no one upping Smash Bros. Ultimate.
  17. It would be better if Mac/PC Netflix users could play too...
  18. It seems to have some noticeable lag regularly whilst playing on a Galaxy S21 Ultra, but it's not horrible. I just can't figure out what's causing it. It's a perfectly fine port, I guess. The fact that this exists only as a freebie with Netflix feels kind of dirty though. It's such an undervaluation of Mania when there's no way to buy the game for any given mobile platform. Also, the port was handled by Lab42, a subsidiary of Sumo Digital. And I think they're using fan art on their website, right?
  19. “It would be most unfortunate if after surviving the goddess of death and her wiping of the multiverse, some water is what would be his end.” Nia nods, still sort of joking around in a serious tone. “Perhaps we should teach him to swim while we’re here?” She suggests, tilting her head slightly.
  20. Yeah I'd much rather just drop the $7 once for the game than pay a monthly $7 subscription for a service I'll never use. I want to buy Sonic Mania with money, not rent it.
  21. Earlier today, Sonic Mania Plus finally made its debut on mobile devices via Netflix Games. Initially revealed last year, this has been a long time in coming, and marks the latest development in SEGA and Netflix's partnership. Anyone with a Netflix account and access to a compatible mobile device can now download and play on both iOS and Android. This port was developed by Lab42, a subsidiary of Sumo Group. You can check out some official screenshots below: I decided to take some time to play the game ahead of writing this. How is it? Well, it seems fine, if barebones. I'll admit, I don't always have the best eye for frame rate, especially on a smaller screen. If you've played previous Classic Sonic mobile ports, you should know what to expect, though there is a caveat: you cannot adjust the size or position of the touch controls. To give you an idea of how it looks on different devices, here are the touch controls on an iPhone 14 Pro: And here they are on an iPad Air 2019 model, which has a 4:3 aspect ratio: The only part of the touch controls you can adjust is switching between right handed and left handed: If you'd like to see the game in motion, I recorded the first 17 minutes (again, off of an iPhone 14 Pro). 23. "Awww, thanks for the concern Lander!", Shantae said, as she shook the water out of her hair, smoothing it out. "But, it's not the end of the world. I can just change out anyway", she said nonchalantly. That said, she certainly wasn't objecting to a drying if Lander had the capabilities. "More importantly, it's good to see you're alive and okay Daniel", Phoenix said. With that, Lander had run into the other master of Artoria Pendragon. "Can certainly agree on that", Jack Sparrow remarked. He'd had his own experience in having to rescue would-be drownees. "Needless to say, it would be an unnecessary damper on the festivities and mood to see a comrade go out in such a way".

    Sonic Channel Artwork: Knuckles' Training

Knuckles is hard as! Fair play
  25. “I imagine the life of an ally is far more valuable than articles of clothing,” Nia speaks up as she directs her gaze to Lander. It seems he’d grown and changed a bit as well, she notices. “We would rather be celebrating a reunion instead of mourning at a funeral anyhow.” Despite keeping her formal tone, a bit of her old snark manages to subtly sneak into her words.
  26. "Cough! All...that time...I spent...training...I could've.. also...learned to swim." Considering he travelled around with Nero and Francis Drake for several months, it's a miracle he's still alive with how clumsy he can be. He takes a moment to recover before trying to speak some more. "Gah!" He suddenly jolts up in shock. "Shantae?! You saved my life again but your cute outfit is all wet because of me..." He could ask Nero to come around and use her fire elemental powers to help dry her off quickly. Although the intense heat from the sun might do that just as fast anyway.
  27. It's hard to define peak. The answer will change from person to person. Especially if you are a Classic or Modern fan, and again that changes based on what media you grew up with. Fan of the comics? Well, if you were a Sonic fan in the US growing up in the 90's you had Archie. UK? Fleetway. Both tackled the freedom fighter aesthetic and adjacent universe wildly differently. Sonic fan growing up in the last decade and reading comics? Doesn't matter where you are, you have IDW filling that niche. If you were to put me on the spot right now, I would say the peak of story telling would be somewhere between the offering of Forces and Frontiers. Now, if you would indulge me for five minutes, I shall explain the mad ramblings... Storytelling. Forces gave us the hero LOSING, Eggman taking over the world and then having a Freedom Fighters motif to rescue our hero to then defeat the badguys(tm). The problem with Forces storytelling is that it falls of a cliff, rather quickly. In terms of how Infinite falls off, and several VR based enemies not reappearing (Chaos 0 being the MASSIVE example). Frontiers, on the continuation of storytelling, gave us someone we knew how to write in universe well. With several nods to various IDW mainstays and large standing moments from the Blue Hedgehog's past. Now, don't get me wrong, I think Frontier writing overall was very good. But that last boss was massively contrived. Gameplay. This will change massively depending on who you ask. This really is the Classic vs Modern debate. There are people ride or die for both. I personally, in a post Mania world, am more a fan of the Modern playstyle. BUT... I think Frontiers did not do open world zone well. I think the collectathon was a little too much, and I also think the DLC story should of been the more canon one, but that's me. I will once again say that I enjoy Forces' sub 5 minute levels, it allows faster storytelling and scene swapping with a variety of locations. Mania levels being more than 5 minutes drove me to the brink of madness and latter Superstars levels are just... well, bleh. I personally enjoy shorter more concise level structure, hell even Frontiers' cyberspace stages were decent, but needed more image variety. Maybe my brain is just more accepting of it in my coming old age. Conclusion. Give me a large Forces esque game with a decent story throughout the game that doesn't fall off so quickly. *ahem* That's my peak.
