Yes Yessssss Yessssssss What is Killer Is Dead? Let me sum this up the quickest way possible: Suda51's long awaited return to the directorial chair since the first No More Heroes. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/01/16/initial-details-about-suda-51s-killer-is-dead-emerge No More Heroes 2? Shadows of the Damned? Lollipop Chainsaw? All good games I suppose, but this. This is Suda finally milking his creative and artistic vision for what it's worth. That midas touch of his that just wasn't present in the games he did not direct is coming back into full force and I'm loving it. New IP, new shenanigans. I don't think I could be more prepared for this. Of all the sweet looking games set to come out this year, this takes the top spot. No questions asked. Fuckheads.

DmC: a new Devil May Cry

If you are trying to imply that I said this, then look back. I called it mediocre hack and slash that requires little to no difficulty to master, redundant functions, and a broken style rank system that can be easily manipulated. That is in the same vein of, I don't know, God of War or Heavenly Sword which is a good game. And I also hated the social commentary which if you haven't noticed this about me, I'm very adapt at political science and hyperbole of poor satires of political figures or conspiracy theories such as "the world is out to get you, man" do not sit well with me because it is stupid, immature, and not what I know DMC was ever about. Apparently the premise of the game relies on that so yeah. You want a positive? It looks pretty.

Yeah... So if you've been following my status' you'll know I've opted to making a weekly humour comic based around this Zombie Tag session so far we have... Zombies Me/Black Rock Shooter - The slightly irritable girl that mopes about and is always the last to join in on her fellow zombies plans because she doesn't really care for being a zombie and just wants to get a decent meal, Jango - Is the evil super-zombie that vows for world domination and infecting everyone, he's pretty much really strong but not taken seriously because he's shorter than the others. Delusphere - Is the clueless zombie that has no idea what is going on due to losing 2 brains, he's pretty dumb (not like the real Delus though ) Hogfather - He is the comically leader of the group who is always after a juicy brain so he comes up with all these elaborate plans to get one, normally focusing on just Nepenthe an apartment across, the plans always fails and he always has some amazingly lame british pun. Spiderman - Spiderman always fights with Blue Wisp who openly mock each other all the time, he was formally a Super Hero who recently went Super Zero so he sort of lays about the apartment feeling sorry for himself and trying to get himself back into the hero business. Blue Wisp - Blue Wisp always fights with Spiderman, he is the resident zombie Wisp and always has some cheesey or perverted dialogue to say, He also tries to flirt with Black Rock Shooter but is often shot down by her sarcastic remarks. Solkia - A humanized-Zombie Fennekin girl, (he) is always moody, witty, sarcastic and rude who normally just laughs and mocks the groups attempts to get brains, He's normally centre of each plan though so he can't really complain. JezMM - Alice is probably the only person BRS can relate to out of the group, Alice is just kind of there because she was bitten by BRS, who feels guilty about zombifying her friend, so lets her stick around, Alice sort of is the awkward inclusion in the group and is the centre of attention for sexual innuendo's from Blue Wisp and some of the group. Still need to add more over the course of time if I stick with this, otherwise please let me know if you'd like to be in it! Humans Nepenthe - Nepenthe is trollish neighbour across the road, she openly mocks and teases the zombies often luring them into traps where her assholeish body guard and friend, Ralph is waiting to ruin the Zombies days, she's a bit a weird but loves to wind up the undead, be it dancing outside their window or hurling abuse from across the street, she has magical Japanese powers that make her weirdness justified. King of Awesome - He is a huge fan of Wreck-It Ralph, so much so he decides to pose as him and is typically an asshole jock that loves to mess up the Undead, he's Nepenthe's protector and always ruins Hogfather's plans comically often resulting in him beating us to a pulp and sending us packing back to BRS' apartment. Grumpy Old Guy - He randomly appears at the worst times but is often overlooked as Hogfather is too hell bent on acquiring Nepenthe's tasty brain, Black Rock Shooter & Alice always notices him but both of them are normally left unheard due to the group's fixation on Nepenthe, However the Grumpy git is oblivious to the undead as he's always too busy time-jumping and messing with his experiments, sometimes being the accidental fouler of Hogfather's plans. Cola - Another NPC however as Scott Pilgrim he is pretty useless at his job of protecting the living and always tends to turn up too late to each scenario. If I go through with this it'll just be a simple web-comic style dealio each week, what do you guys think? Of course the Mods will appear as cameo's and medics too!

After going through them, the current survivors rank like this (naturally does not include posts here in the safe house): Nepenthe secured 12 semi-automatic weapons Grumpy Old Guy retrieved 10 children's lunch boxes complete with cheese dunkers sweet gato found 3 walkie-talkies but two of them were covered in MLP stickers geez Gavvie only located 1 first aid kit and to be honest it's mostly just antiseptic wipes pooshoes put in 0 effort and sat around getting drunk back in the safe house the entire time and is showing minimal reaction to prodding Chaos Warp and NGw00d were difficult to rank because the survivors weren't really paying attention to what they did while they were zombies and what they did after those ravishing doctors took them behind a screen and told them to remove their trousers for some reason.

DmC: a new Devil May Cry

I'm getting really tired of posting in this thread so this is probably going to be the last major post I make here before I eventually find a way to play this game. I honestly don't believe that DmC appeals to an audience that doesn't prefer taste or challenge in their games. It simply appeals to a different audience. DmC and the other DMC games are clearly different breeds of action games and which one you prefer, or even if you like both, doesn't say anything about you as a gamer. I think saying that people who like DmC don't enjoy challenge or exploring new things is doing a massive disservice to those who see something in this game you don't. I still am not fond of this game in terms of how it does certain things and what it means for the DMC series. I let my money do the talking by only buying games from Capcom that I want to see more of in the future, such as the upcoming Ace Attorney 5, and DmC is not one of them. However I don't look down on people who enjoy this route and if nothing else I am glad that others can appreciate something I do not, because unlike a certain other reboot that's coming out soon, I don't see the game as wholly offensive other than how it treats the core game it bases itself from. Beyond its place in the DMC series, I don't really give a shit, and it's not getting that much vitriol from me anymore. What it means for people enjoying DmC, however, is that Capcom is very unlikely to bring back the old DMC after this game's success. The surprising lack of criticism made toward this game in professional reviews means there doesn't seem to be much discussion about not only what could make future installments closer to old DMC games in spirit, but also the inherent flaws this game has on its own. I'm not mad at Ninja Theory for making this game, at people who are enjoying the game, or even at those who are ignorant enough to write off the criticisms as "baww white hair." It's Capcom I'm personally irritated at due to their modern business practices and for having so little faith in their own IPs that it's just one of those "damned if you do, etc." scenarios. If this game bombed then they probably would have written off DMC as a failed franchise and never bother to revive it again. So at the very least I can say without irony that it's good that people can appreciate this game because I can't think of a single advantage if everybody hated it instead. I don't even like what I see of the game myself, but between the two options the franchise would have ended on a way too sour note if this game turned out to be actually bad like a lot of people were expecting, or even hoping, it to be. So did the game turn out good in the end? It probably did after all. But as a consumer that's personally not my concern.

DmC: a new Devil May Cry

It depends on what type of gamer you are. If you are here for the experience, don't find any enjoyment in discovery of new aspects that you can do, and prefer to not getting your assed kicked a few times because the learning curve is as flat as Taylor's Swift's ass, this game is for you. If you want a challenge, depth in your control scheme, variety in abilities, and being rewarded properly for overcoming said challenges, you will hate this game.

    Silencer226 Art Updated: 5-23-15

Hi all, I had an older art topic, but I requested a lock on it to start fresh. Most of the stuff I have today is all traditional, mostly charcoal drawings. Basically this is just stuff that I did in my art class, the majority of it being gesture drawings. I am going to be studying how to draw the human figure this year as my own personal study. But anyway, pictures. ^Pen not charcoal, contour gesture A still life, I notice several things I could have fixed in it. The study in the class was actually on light and shading. I am sad that the table left scratchy marks on the picture. :< Creepy lady portrait, eeek. Lol. I want to take another lfie drawing class. Well, off to do some more studying.

Please enlighten me. All I'm seeing is the dress and hair being more detailed, because aside from that she'd fit right into the humans in Unleashed, especially if you were to give her the more simplistic detailed dress she wears most of the time. In fact, we could even use characters like Mario, Luigi, and Wario since we're talking about Mario/Brawl characters. Well for one, Sonic is an animal while the dwarfs are human. Secondly, they're Disney characters, as is their Pixar subdivision, similar that of the Pixaresque designs that we associate the Unleashed characters. The proportions always vary between each other between each and every character whether human, animal, or inanimate object come to life. Thirdly, the fact that you used Disney character designs in the first place goes against your point because as Pixar is a part of Disney and we compare the humans from Unleashed with the character designs they make, that goes against your point against Unleashed's humans. Do we need to start comparing concept art here? I thought you were going to bring up realism again regarding the human designs. But the same can be said of Unleashed regardless. None of them look bland either. I mean really, how the hell are you going to tell me that these character designs: Are less interesting and less exaggerated than these: As far as designs go for humans (or even the non-humans)? (I seriously could not find a better example on the internet in my search, so if anyone can do better, I'd love a link) Um, no. The characters body types and exaggerations ABSOLUTELY fit like a glove with Link's design. That's the reason you don't see the body types and exaggerations from examples such as Twilight Princess or Majora's Mask in the same place as Minish Cap or Wind Maker, EVERY iteration is different. They're a part of the same series, but each one is different with varying levels of cartoony exaggerations or realism from each game. Games like Twilight Princess, Majora's Mask, and Ocarina of Time fall closer to the realism spectrum while Minish Cap, Wind Maker, and Spirit Tracks fall closer to cartoony. That's not saying that the former games are realistic when it comes to their humans (far from it actually), because yes they do have varying proportions (like Unleashed), but you can't throw the former category of designs into the latter category and expect it not to clash due to the myriad of factors such as lighting, style, tone, setting, and graphical quality, along with the proportions, that would go against it unless you were specifically making a crossover that is unconcerned with fitting in due to it being a cross between artsyles in the first place. That's the reason why no one sees issue with the character designs when it comes to the Zelda series, in addition to the fact that they change every character proportions every game, up to and including the central three characters Zelda, Link, and Ganondorf. So it becomes a moot point either way. Same case follows with Sonic, except his design has been far more consistent as far as proportions go compared to the Zelda series, and as a result changes in designs become more apparent and the reception follows with it. Nevermind the fact that, unlike the Zelda series in which the characters in different universes/periods of time/whatever-the-hell-was-the-explaination, Sonic has been in the same consistent universe since start to present. But even then, other characters are made to fall into place so that they fit in. That's why they couldn't just put Eggman in his cartoony porportions into a game like Sonic 06 when the concept behind that game was "What if Sonic was real", and the same even applies to Sonic himself since they alter his proportions. And the reason why people don't like that look is because they don't think it fits right with Sonic. Look, GUN Commander? Despite him being in ShTH, he could definitely fit beside the case if his proportion was given a lift and a tuck. Elise? She fit the game she was in, but she set off some uncanny valley alarms as far as the whole series went, and people thought she didn't fit well - were she given a few alterations, she could probably fit (thought considering the fanbase holds a grudge against her, I don't think it would be too welcoming regardless). Eggman? That shouldn't even be a question to ask. And Prof. Pickle? I think I would sit back and let people like Verte, Diogenes, Ragna, Komodin, and Indigo Rush jump in to explain that one, because this post is long as hell as it is. TL;DR - Character designs are not a simple algebraic case of X looks better than Y and would be better next to Z than Y does. It's a whole calculus of variables. And there are a few exceptions for that to where the designs don't need to matter such as crossovers, for example.

Dude. Blaziken has enough merit to be used in UBERS where all the LEGENDARIES are stuck in. In fact Blaziken was so great this gen it was kicked to Ubers. Why? It gained a niffy tool in the form of Speed Boost. Blaziken's attacking stats are great, its attack is 3 points away from Emboar and is higher than Infernape's. What made it not have little competitive use is the fact Blaziken was far too slow, relying on using Agility or being a Baton Pass receiver. Infernape while having less attack than Blaziken had good attacking stats anyways along with a blazing 108 speed and armed with Flare Blitz and Close Combat its no wonder why no one bothered with Blaziken in the past. However with Speed Boost its a whole different game. Unlike Infernape or Emboar as well as any fire type pokemon, Blaziken can gain a free speed boost by using protect. From there it can either speed up again or get a swords dance boost and once it gets a swords dance boost its usually game over due to it being armed with Flare Blitz and Hi Jump Kick. Very few can survive this combo, save for Kyogre if it runs into Flare Blitz and the Giratinas. But the only downside to Speed Boost Blaziken that I can think of that its really predictable unless it runs Shadow Claw and it will lose a lot of HP due its recoil. Infernape is still good but not Blaziken good. Its doing the same thing its been doing in the last generation. And Emboar, while its bulky due to its massive HP stat with a great attack stat, its defenses are average, if not below average and its too slow. It may die before it gets to fire off anything. Not to mention its going to rely on recoil moves which hurts it in the long run. But due to Blaziken's new yet simple strategy it can outrun anything it wants for free and demolishes it from there. As Sonic would say "GOTTA GO FAST!"

The Sonic topic of utter positivity

Sonic music can NEVER go wrong. Well, except for the Game Gear titles... ...Well, save Sonic 1 GG/MS. The rest of them are usually meh. From the very beginning (Green Hill) to the most recent ones (Say, Planet Wisp or Terminal Velocity), these themes are extremely catchy and the melody is guaranteed to stick on you. This is something I /really/ like about the themes of 90s-esque platformers, in that they tend to have a very solid melody, something I'm trying to imitate. But the most unique of them all, the thing that shouts that this is a 2D Sonic game of the 90's? The main themes of the games. Now note that I'm talking about the Sonics 1~K, CD and 4 here, not the newer ones which have actual, vocal songs for their theme songs. These melodies really have something that shouts "SONIC", and is really hard to replicate. Trust me, I tried. They share almost /nothing/ in style, and even the chord progressions are different. However, they always manage to give a similar feeling, even Sonic 4. ...Well, Ep 1, anyway. (I should Genesize it one of these days...) I've really never heard anything like them, and the only non-officialSonic thing I've heard that could even possibly come close was the theme for Before the Sequel. It's really amazing how deceptively simple it looks/sounds.
