Today, the NPDs (via executive director Mat Piscatella’s Twitter) have released their January 2023 U.S. game sales ranking, and while Sonic Frontiers missed the top 10, it’s still hanging on at a respectable 12th place (down from 6th in December).
In a prior report, NPD listed Sonic Frontiers as the 16th best selling game of 2022 in the U.S., while SEGA cited in their recent investor report that the game had sold 2.9 million copies worldwide by the end of December 2022.
It’s difficult to say if Frontiers can maintain this pace through February’s packed release schedule, but its ability to hang on three months after release is yet another accomplishment in its impressive list.
