Use this thread to share your screenshots from Sonic games! It could be a high score, neat detail, or just something you find interesting! I'll start with this gem from the Sonic Runners x Puyo Puyo event.

So after the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comics were cancelled in 2017, it was unknown at that point on whether or not Sonic the Hedgehog will ever come back into the comics.  Well, it turns out that in 2018, SEGA announced that they will be partnering up with IDW Comics to make a brand-new Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series!  And what better way to celebrate this special occasion than to have the old writers who wrote for the Archie Comics make a comeback into the series?

There's been a lot of villains throughout the history of Sonic who were either super underdeveloped or had an unsatisfying end. 

Out of all the mistreated villains from the different Sonic canons, who are a few that you'd like to eventually see make a return in some fashion?

Announced on the news tab today on Sonic Forces: Mobile, a brand new battle event is incoming featuring a clash against the past (Classic Super Sonic), and Future (Super Silver). Players will be split into two teams, and as per previous events, will score points for collecting rings and winning, with those points doubled if you use either of the event characters.

If you missed out on getting Classic Super Sonic earlier this month when Superstars dropped, or you haven't gotten Super Silver yet after his last rerun back during Summer, this is your chance to do so, so don't miss it!

Interesting article about mods on Sonic Frontiers what does everyone else think?

It's officially been one full year now since Sonic Frontiers released (November 8th 2022), and throughout the months, it's a understatement to say a lot has changed about the game. Not just with the usual feelings that can change when a honeymoon phase with a brand new game ends, but quite literally, as Sonic Frontiers is the first mainline game in the series to get frequent and substantial content drops that significantly altered aspects and elements of the game, for better or worse.

I remember reading a comment somewhere along of lines of how arrogant Sonic seemed in SaTAM. To be fair, Sonic can get overconfident at times but he was usually portrayed as heroic and cared about his friends. The same poster also mentioned that (s)he(?) that they low hey hated how Sonic was portrayed in SaTAM and hoped that the comics were different. That post must be long gone now but Sonic's personality was mostly the same as the show. I do not believe his personality to be arrogant but I can see why he can come off as such.  Sonic can be really overconfident, snarky and smug but he does learn from his mistakes and is a kind person. What do you think of this? Do you think that commenter was right to be weary of Archie Sonic? 

While there’s a lot to pick apart with the Sonic Dream Team announcement, nothing has completely engulfed the discourse quite as much as disbelief, frustration, and misunderstanding with its platform: Apple Arcade. We may not know what Dream Team itself is outside of some form of 3D platformer with multiple characters and Lost World-esque aesthetics, and we may not know if it’s even worth playing yet, but that hasn’t stopped people from obsessing over the Apple part of its release.

So now that a few weeks have passed since Superstars release, and there's been a chance for the dust to settle, so to speak - I thought now would be a good time to discuss how Fang's overall return to the series ultimately panned out (Obviously, not counting the incoming mini-series as that's yet to release as of this topic). 

Fang's surprise appearance at the tail-end of the Superstars trailer was a pretty hype moment for most everyone, given that Fang has been a basically forgotten character in the franchise, especially when Team Hooligan was banned from appearing in IDW during the (frankly, idiotic) mandates that disallowed Classic characters in Modern, and vice versa. Since then, we've gotten the Fang's Big Break prequel comic, and finally, his villain role within Superstars itself.

So, I've noticed that some fans tend to compare the fan made Sonic games towards the Sonic Team made games and I have to wonder if it's fair to do that?  Like, the thing about Sonic fan games is that the fans who made the games have enough time on their hands to make the games and they don't have to worry about things like upper management forcing them to put out a game before a deadline.  So at times, it makes the Sonic fan games seem better than the Sonic Team made games by comparison.

Halloween was good this year, wasn't it? Lots of cool, spooky vibes and the kids doing all of that 'trick or treat' stuff. Marvellous. But if you live in Mexico and turned the TV on the morning of October 31st, you'll have likely jumped out of your seat as you saw this face staring back at you:

No, Dr. Eggman isn't really invading the real world in a Sonic X style - this is popular Mexican TV celebrity Pedrito Sola, who hosts the 'Ventaneando' programme. And the show's make-up and wardrobe team have clearly done an excellent job transforming the charismatic presenter into a menacing character hell-bent on taking over the world.

You can check out Pedro Sola's X account here for a number of videos and photos of him getting prepared for the role (and this video shows him in action a little bit too, if you're interested). But we think it's an inspired outfit and very much worth sharing to the world. Well done, Mr. Sola! Please don't turn us all into robots.

Sola wasn't the only one in dress-up for Halloween either - his co-hosts also got in on the act, as you can see below.

The Sonic the Hedgehog IP is on a growth trajectory following the success of Sonic Frontiers and the two Paramount movies, with SEGA Sammy announcing in its annual financial report that the franchise has moved 1.6 billion units as of March 2023.

That humungous figure covers both physical game sales and downloads of full game and free-to-play titles across console, PC and mobile. A report on GamesIndustry notes that this is a 7% increase on last year's performance, meaning that the Sonic franchise is enjoying a particularly positive consumer boost right now.


In a slide dedicated to the Sonic franchise early in the investor report, SEGA Sammy reveals that Sonic Frontiers, which released in November 2022, has racked up 3.2 million copies worldwide as of end of March 2023. In a corporate interview later in the same document, SEGA Sammy CEO Haruki Satomi calls the game's performance "one of the best games in the entire Sonic IP game series, winning over many new Sonic fans."

Elsewhere, the company also points to the two Paramount Sonic the Hedgehog movies as a key factor in the respectable increase in franchise sales;

It has certainly been a very busy year for Sonic the Hedgehog, with various DLC updates for Sonic Frontiers being released alongside Sonic Superstars, the announcement of Sonic Dream Team, a symphonic world tour, various social marketing initiatives and even The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog all continuing to generate goodwill in the community - and importantly for SEGA Sammy, converting to sales.
