RLS Legacy got a reaction from Haalyle in Sonic Boom (Untagged Spoilers)
Season 2 continues a fairly decent start.
However, there is one gripe I have with the show's humour which damaged my enjoyment of it in Season 1 and which they clearly haven't gotten over in Season 2 based on today's episode.
It's the 'jokes' which revolve around extended periods of silence following/building up to a punchline. Examples: the almost 20-second silence after Knuckles says "what's the worst that could happen?" in 'Mayor Knuckles', the dead silence when Knuckles pops out of the cake in 'Eggheads' and, in the new episode, the shot lingering on Eggman's rocket being towed away for a good 10 seconds.
And I get that the fact that nothing happens is supposed to be the joke, but it's simply painful to watch. It's a Family Guy brand of humour which is awkward, comes across as padding, and chiefly isn't funny.
Aside from this, the pacing thus far in the new season feels a little... off. The stories haven't been particularly coherent and we seem to just flit jarringly from one setpiece/scene to the next with nothing in the way of a proper transition. Eggman's plan was never established properly, either. He wants to make money off an asteroid strike...? But only off people he deems worthy enough...? It just all felt very weird and sloppy.

RLS Legacy got a reaction from SpongicX in Why does Cartoon Network insist on screwing over Sonic Boom?
Title. This continues to royally aggravate me. Even after the surprise success of Season 1 (averaging a million views per episode), CN are evidently trying to sweep Boom under the rug.
Season 2 fucking premiered this morning, and they put it on at 6AM, when very few people are awake. Did they not learn from this the first time around?
Plus they do no advertising, no commercials, absolutely no publicity whatsoever. Literally the only way you would know it was happening would be if you followed Sonic on social media, which most kids aren't doing. It's as if they're deliberately sending it out to die, and THEN they have the gall to fill the rest of the day with 50,000 episodes of Teen Titans Go.
Cartoon Network (and SEGA, I guess), listen up: IF-YOU-DO-NOT-MAKE-ANY-EFFORT-TO-PROMOTE-YOUR-SHOW-IT-WILL-NOT-SUCCEED.
Also, searching 'Sonic Boom Season 2 premiere' on Google for results within the last 24 hours yields practically nothing. No reviews, no news, no pirated episodes (yes, we're all thinking it) or anything. Do people just.... not care? If so, that's really sad.
Plus, the franchise in general seems to be absent out and about. I see no Boom merchandise, advertising, posters or any such stuff in shops/high streets, contrary to what SEGA promised way back when. Nor have I seen any kind of promotion or TV spots for Fire and Ice, not counting the fast food tie-in that happened over a year before the game released.
It honestly almost feels like all parties involved have given up on trying to push Boom to kids and are relying on the devoted fanbase/occasional word of mouth to keep it afloat.
    Thoughts?

Something that really concerned me about the panel was Aaron's description of Fire and Ice.
He was incredibly careful with his words; he said he's 'played it', but notice he didn't say he liked it or thought it was good/great/awesome/outstanding/amazing, just that it's something he "hopes [we'll] look forward to."
The fact that he danced around actually praising the game doesn't instill me with much confidence for it.

So. Wait. Hold on. Holy shit. I just fucking realized something.
Sonic 25th is going to be classic centric. The series is going back to its roots, yet again.
We see the return of Ben Kalough, he's apparently alive. Significant numbers are a 4 and a 3.
"Red herring" is one of the hints just recently dropped.
Are you seriously fucking telling me that the 25th anniversary game is Sonic 4 Episode III?

RLS Legacy got a reaction from FriendBot in BOOM REVIEW: Not sure if I can post this, but...
... I've been a Sonic fan for a while now, and was among the many droves of people who were disappointed with Sonic Boom (the games, not the show which, incidentally, I think is brilliant).
Now, apologies if this kinda thing ain't allowed (I'm interpreting 'written works' as including reviews), but I've recently begun contributing to freelance game review site - which you've probably never heard of - GameSkinny, and one of my inaugural pieces is a 7000-word analysis of Rise of Lyric, with an in-depth look at its development, its successes and failures on many fronts, including the story, as well as some amusing anecdotes and a final assessment of the game's merits.
    Here's the link:

In short, I'm quite proud of it, and though it may come across to some as a whiny diatribe, I mean every single word written in it. So, where better place to hear the thoughts of fellow Sonic fans than TSS? I'd really appreciate it if people would take a look - I'm not assuming people have the time to read the whole thing - and offer their own views, as well as constructive criticism. Always gratefully received.
Thanks in advance, everyone, and Happy New Year!

    Hi there everyone,
I've been a Sonic fan for a while now, and I've been doing a shameless lurk 'round these parts for a similarly lengthy period of time; but seeing as how I'm starting a new project that I'm rather proud of, I thought now'd be the perfect time to sign up and share it with some fellow devotees.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpT4rUfVwbA&feature=youtu.be
It's the first episode of a new LP of the incredibly polarising Sonic Unleashed that I'm intending to be a 'reboot' of sorts for the channel (in that I'm actually going to finish it) and I'd like some criticism.
Now, before the inevitable "don't use a camcorder" comments come rolling in, I'm fully aware of the fact that it isn't optimum quality (the video, anyway, even though HD is available - the audio's like butter to the ears), but I'm on a budget and don't want to pour vast quantities of money into a professional capture device that may or may not even work with a PAL Wii U, finicky piece of hardware that it is.
As such, I'm more looking for you guy's thoughts on my commentary. As in, do you buy into my brand of anarchic hyperactivity and enthusiasm? How'd you find the humour? Am I engaging? All that kind of stuff, and since the audio is infinitely higher quality than the video, it'll be easier to critique my voiceover anyway. Lucky!
So, thanks in advance, and here's to the playthrough, and the success of everyone who enters this hallowed place.
Also, the Werehog really isn't as universally terrible as some people make him out to be. Seriously.
