  1. Even though I've never owned a PS4, I've always thought the little touchpad on the controller was a neat idea. Doesn't seem to be talked about much though, so I guess it's not really used often.

      And you're absolutely right.

I only have four games for my PS4 but I can say not one of them uses it. You can use it to navigate an on-screen keyboard, but personally I find it's way too hard to be precise with.

Back in the day I thought it'd atleast be used for touch-based Vita games that'd be ported over, or atleast for laptop-style touchpad navigation. But I guess it'd be redundant even for navigation when you have the joysticks and buttons.

I believe they utilize it for PS TV since it is a Vita you can pair Dualshock 4s to.

Some games make use of the touch pad, especially games that are ports of touch-screen stuff, like Tearaway Unfolded and KH DDD.

I forget that it's even on my controller. Don't think any of my games use it.

The only time I used it was for Spider-Man PS4

It's just another Select button at this point.

Such a cool idea, yet not utilised because no other console uses it (and much like games in VR, there's no need for it).

It's downright amazing when using it as a PC controller, that's for sure. It's basically an immediate mouse pad and left click, wherever you need it, destroying the need to reorient yourself to reach the mouse for menus and options outside the game. Why they haven't made it an official selling point for the controller, I have no idea; it's sooo handy for PC gaming.
