  1. Roger has every right to step down from the sonic role, but tbh that blue broken heart pic he posted the day he announced he was leaving the role did make things confusing for a hot minute.

who knows what's happening behind the curtain, maybe SEGA didn't let him have another choice but leave because conditions have changed or something. I mean it's still SEGA we're talking about.

You know, I've been needing to bring this up. That whole day did not read like he made the decision. Especially with what Tara said and him seemingly agreeing with her. And that's all without going into how much he seems to have enjoyed the role. To go out on something like Puyo Puyo is... interesting to say the least.

I'm not sure who here coined it but it seems more like a professional move on his end. Like, Sega didn't really let him go, but they made changes to his contract that no longer made sense for him to continue in the role. So, instead of burning bridges with them, he chose this route as to leave some doors open.

But yeah, idk. Sega continues to be silent about it all and I doubt anyone will give a straight answer anytime soon. All we know is that Sega is continuing their record of not being able to keep any form of consistency with this series.

Yeah I'm not too sure it was by his own accord. Given how all the other voice actors were acting especially with mike posting from cryptic shit. It seems like there might be another reshuffle but who knows?

He said in the interview that he didn't want to divulge too much information; clearly he's being professional and doesn't want to burn bridges or create drama. Considering everything that we know for sure and what we can infer is also likely, he chose to step away but only did so because he wasn't happy or his needs weren't going to be met. SEGA probably facilitated his decision to leave. Like, I've had amazing colleagues leave jobs that they enjoyed because the employer wouldn't allow them to progress and develop, or otherwise made them feel consistently undervalued.
