  1. I just don't think Ben Shwartz's voice would fit game Sonic, if that is indeed why Sega is replacing Roger Craig Smith.

Ben's voice works for the naive, childlike Sonic of the movie. But game Sonic's personality and that voice would be a total mismatch.

It's not like they haven't totally changed the way Sonic is written before

I think it would fit better than Smith's.

I agree. While I liked Ben's voice in the movie, I don't think he should play Sonic in the games because the movie and the games are in totally different universes.

Ben’s performance in the movie makes Sonic out to be this hyperactive kid. For the movie, it’s passable but I don’t think the same could be said when applied to the games where Sonic is a lot more laid back and chill.

I don’t doubt Ben could reel it back a bit and play that role quite nicely but that does remain to be seen.

Both Dewey and Movie Sonic are characters Ben views at young, naive and a bit hyperactive, with obvious cocky hints in Sonic. But then there's Leo from Rise of the TMNT, a, well teenage mutant ninja turtle, where he basically uses his normal voice - and I think it's a very solid fit for game Sonic. Some of it is still pretty high pitched and maybe a bit too dorky, but other than little qualms like this, I think it's a great fit.
