  1. My extremely original and unique hot take for the day is that Colors' reception really only makes sense when you compare it to turds like Secret Rings or ShadowTH, and that it was when the Sonic franchise started to play itself more like a generic platformer and started to downplay its own unique strengths.

      It's the same reason S4(E1) got a pass from the press / general games ranging from "not that bad, stop complaining" to "omgwtfbbq a sonic game that's actually good" at the time of release

      Colors is the Sonic 1 to Generations Sonic 2. You can totally play 1, by why would you when 2 is better in pretty much every conceivable way?
