I think you're missing the part when I said
These differences are so nebulous. I made the GIF because your points are trivial. Your second comparison doesn't even have him as a lighter blue, the shoes are completely imperceptible in the game and some things you're saying like the hands are just incorrect. They're not even technically different designs, just different models for the same design.

SaturnWolf got a reaction from Angyu in Why is there a stigma against the Sonic community
I don't really think people discussing a person and events who have been public knowledge for well, well over a decade at this point are really adding to any sort of stigma. Christine is going to come up when discussions of the public view of Sonic fans come up because, whether we like it or not, she is a prolific figure and her behavior constantly puts herself in a spotlight, for better or for worse
That said, I believe this is just sort of how it goes with fandom. It's always the shock value and cheap laughs that get more attention than thoughtful discussion or cool fanart. Outside of the people who are already fans, nobody really cares about the latter, because they don't really have any sort of attachment to the source, but everyone will laugh at drunk Star Wars kid, because you don't need to be a fan of Star Wars to get a chuckle out of a person jumping around and being silly with a stick
Nobody outside of Star Wars fandom really talks about the HelloGreedo's, the Dave Filoni's, etc. It's not that different from how nobody outside of Sonic fandom really talks about (insert Sonictuber name here) or (insert Sonic Team employee here), but, removed from the context of Christine's harassment online, everyone can get a laugh out of a woman who cares way too much about this sort of thing to be macing a Gamestop employee over a shitty inoffensive redesign for a children's game
It's annoying to have people like that constantly spotlighted, but it's nothing new or exclusive to the Sonic fanbase

Are you aware of which game Iizuka has actually directed? You attribute Shadow to Naka here when Iizuka directed it, along with SA1, SA2 and heroes.
He serves as a producer on modern Sonic which is a key role but not the same thing as director. The current director (Kishimoto) definitely has his own style, just as Naka, Hashimoto and even Iizuka did before.
All this drama over Iizuka genuinely feels like its only happening because hes the only name people know regardless of his influence on the brand.

SonicTubers being hacks is nothing new, sadly. As Wraith put pretty much perfectly, the reason the likes of Premydaremy get so hilariously pissed off over the lack of Sonic news despite claiming to be over Sonic or whatever, is because regurgitating Sonic news is all they have. People aren't watching their shlock for them, it's just more Sonic content (if you can really call it that) for people to stuff their faces with. God forbid they learn how to make actually interesting videos, that's effort!
(On that note, props to Cybershell for coming back and showing them how it's done. I didn't get the hype at first, but now I've watched his stuff I can tell he's a good dude).

...Are we really having transphobia here on a freaking Sonic the Hedgehog forum?

Please. Gender identity is not "corruption". Neither is being gay.

Anyway, I hate the Shadow mandates because I feel like they're forcing him to be a caricature of the character he used to be. Shadow wasn't even that edgy or angry in SA2... He actually quipped from time to time and had a respect for Sonic.

Sonic Team has shown they're not capable of making a good game that's even mostly 2D, entirely 2D? We're looking at another Sonic 4, best case scenario, worst case scenario, more of Classic from Forces where the damn game doesn't even work the way it should at any point
Perhaps a defeatist way to look at it, but let's see they're still capable of making good Sonic games before we demand a return to any formula. Though unlikely they'll be returning, I would rather see the team behind Mania handle the 2D stuff from now on, because Sonic Team clearly has no idea why it worked

Frozen Factory is the 4th world in Lost World, so SaturnWolf may have meant that by "4th level".
Even then, I can only 'open myself up' to Werehog, Black Knight, etc so much before realising they're hot garbage. There's ways to mix things up without missing the point.

They need to make a modern 2D game (with 2.5D graphics or whatever) that isn't about nostalgia and doesn't suck. They haven't tried that since Sonic 4* and we all know how that went. That was a half-assed attempt. They need to step it up and make it as loved as Mania.

SaturnWolf got a reaction from KnuxDLX in What would you like to see in a Sonic Adventure remake?
The previously cut levels, maybe one or two new ones. Mushroom and Desert, I assume are Mushroom Hill and Sandopolis, which I think there's actually a lot that could be done in translating them to 3D to make them unique and fun to play, Jungle, however, is a bit harder to tell, but I really don't think it would be that hard to make a fun jungle level for Sonic Adventure
One level I had come to mind a few years ago was one exclusive to Metal Sonic once unlocked. Taking place on the Egg Carrier as it slowly sinks, you have to get out before that happens. It wouldn't even be that hard to work into the plot, just say Eggman was transporting him somewhere else
I'd also like to see Knuckles get more traditional levels, even if just in a competition/time trial mode so we can see his abilities applied in those sorts of levels
Maybe I'm asking for a lot with some of these, but I don't think any of these would be too expensive or complicated to produce

SaturnWolf reacted to Scritch the Cat in Does SEGA Even HAVE to Listen to Us?
Adventure fans are probably getting more vocal now because the Classic fans have gotten Sonic Mania, and there isn’t a counterpart game for the Adventure series yet.  Also SM even existing and being a hit gives lie to the idea that Sonic needs to have nobody but Sonic playable In order to be truly Sonic, and that lie, above all else, is what destroyed the Adventure era.  Add in that SM was made by former hackers and fangame developers, and you’ve got what feels like a vindication of the belief that the fans now know more about what Sonic should be than SEGA.  Meanwhile, 3D Sonic fan gaming is coming along; it clearly still has some growing to do, but the more fan projects people play that take heavy inspiration from the Adventure series, the more people will feel “These really aren’t that hard to make, so why doesn’t SEGA?”

Bottom line, I don’t think fans of the Adventure era are really languishing from the lack of another game like it.  They might never come around to accepting the sort of Sonic games that have replaced it, but I’m assuming most have lives outside of Sonic the Hedgehog, so they’ll get over the loss.  However, they also see some times as opportune to remind the world that they still exist and still want a third (good) Adventure game.
Among the current reasons the fans might be vocal are:
    1) SM making them feel nostalgia is good for the brand and worth pursuing.
    2) SF convincing them that boost won’t ever surpass what it was in SG and likely will get worse instead; also that Classic Sonic is no longer a novelty.
    3) TSR calling back to character relationships not seen since the Adventure era.
    4) Mobile games calling back to that era.
    5) Sonic’s official YouTube and other social media reconciling with that era.
    6) The increased prominence of Jun Senoue after a multi-game absence.

It's best to never expect Sonic 3 to get a rerelease, because you're basically asking Sega to pick their date for an incoming lawsuit. Even if it released with the proto music / without MJ's music, people will immediately start asking why it doesn't have the 'original' tracks anymore. And since Sonic 3 is pretty beloved by everyone, it'll get media attention from game journalists, and the floodgates will likely open all the same since Brad Buxer, Scirocco, etc aren't exactly long gone or completely inaccessible.
You can't just owe someone money for 20+ years and then suddenly pretend you never owed them money at all. Something about the game would have to be settled in court before it could get a proper rerelease, with or without the music. If it didn't, then Sega would be all kinds of fucked.
It's unfortunate that one of the best games of all time is locked behind problems this severe, but remember what I said about this being a monkey's paw franchise.

We're finding you're all logged in from the same device and the timing of activity like you have to take turns on a computer don't really help the case at all. We already fell for some lines about not believing you once, Levi, but I am not inclined to continue giving you the benefit of the doubt until I'm confident you're here in good faith.

SaturnWolf reacted to Tracker_TD in Currently looking for anyone who might be interested to look inside the Sonic 1 prototype for Madonna and other feb 1990 content?
    You don't know either.
My point is, no matter how many people are looking into it, this stuff isn't easy and results take time. If other people are looking into it, by all means go find those people. But whatever other people find will probably end up on TCRF pretty quickly anyway, so it's not going to be a significantly different timeframe. Given Hidden Palace and TCRF frequently work together, I'd imagine some of TCRF even got a headstart on rummaging through the dump.
Feb 1990 content does not equal Madonna. I find it unlikely she made it into any actual game scenario, since she got cut so early on in the project. I don't think there'd be anything more significant than the demo loop shown earlier.
TCRF won't show stuff until it's actually been found, and that'll take however long it takes. Shit, even the main page for Sonic the Hedgehog mentions undocumented sequence data for some tracks is on the to-do list; but there's a lot of games that people on sites like TCRF work on rooting through, and there's only so many people with free time and the skillsets to do that.

The one mandate I don't agree with  is that they can't call Sonic's home planet Mobius, I think they should bring the planet name back for the sake of world building and making it feel like the world the live in has an identity.

SaturnWolf reacted to Roger_van_der_weide in What are some mandates by Sega you don't agree with?
I hate mandates that indicate Sonic Team doesn't understand what alternative universes are, like when Black Doom wasn't allowed to appear in Archie "because he died in the games". Ignoring the fact he never showed up in the comics yet.
As if indicating everyone who died in the games also automatically died in every possible Sonic spin off media and Black Doom's corpse is present somewhere in AOSTH, Sonic Boom and Sonic the movie as well somehow.

Or Sonic Boom Rise of Lyrics's initial concept of being an origin story for Sonic being shot down because "Sonic Team wanted to explore Sonic's origins themselves" (HAH. Like that would happen.)
    Source: https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Sonic_Boom:_Rise_of_Lyric

Yo, smarty pants, Sonic Boom is a side series, it's origins has no effect on the main series, right?
But somehow they don't get it, and as such Boom was denied to have any kind of proper introduction and all characters and settings are just plopped down with no fanfare whatsoever.
And I suppose with Sonic just being HERO MAN and Eggman being EVIL SCIENTIST MAN, that works well enough.
But it would have been nice if Sticks had a proper introduction rather then just going "Hi, find shinies!" in Rise of Lyric in a cameo and voila, there she is. Not to mention Shadow the hedgehog being a more morally complex character requiring at least SOME kind of a backstory or context, but nope. he just shows up and we're supposed to cheer and clap like he's anything more then an empty shell.

Especially confusing considering Sonic did get an origin in SATam, Underground, Sonic the Comic and in the movie. I guess the first 3 were created before the mandate and the movie got away with it because the executives at Paramount probably used all of Sonic Team's suggestions as toiletpaper.

While I don't have any evidence for this, I strongly believe this is also why Shadow never got any kind of explanation in Sonic Boom and just randomly shows up as if we're supposed to know who that guy is. "His origin was already told in Sonic Adventure 2" I guess, so now Sonic Boom has to roll with that.
Granted, I'd pay good money to see Sonic Adventure 2 and especially Shadow the Hedgehog's storylines retold within the Sonic Boom universe, that'd be a sight to see.

And looking at that  Rise of Lyric page again, what about this:
" Cliff for example was originally an inventor, but Iizuka said that only Tails and Eggman could be inventors."
It's stuff like this why Sonic's universe feels so small and empty. The main characters are everything and the world around them can't contain anything of value. It's just Sonic, Tails and Eggman in an empty cardboard world, Green hill Zone floating in an empty void.
Assuming characters like Wave the Swallow or Sonic X's uncle Chuck are left out to keep it simple, or retconned out of existance, does this mean litteraly every piece of technology in the series has been created by either Tails or Eggman? So both or either is the main manufactorer of all technology in Sonic's world? No wonder they renamed their planet "Sonic's world", the main characters really are the center of their entire universe.

And then Sonic Team breaks their own rule barely 4 years later with Dodongopa anyway. Oops. They can't even keep up with their own stupid mandates.
