I've got like 50+ amiibo, so I can't remember what I named all of them. XD I know I have some obvious (and totally original) ones such as Weegee, Lonk, Teen Lonk and Helga. Oh, and Sanic, of course. I might have said this before, but if the soundtrack wasn't already the weakest aspect of the Pokémon dub by far, it suffers the most whenever the Japanese original used an insert song. Not only does the dub make no attempt to use an insert song itself, but it just has the same damn shitty BGM they use for the rest of the dub. Parts that were originally meant to be cool, 'special' moments that warranted an insert song just feel like they've been turned all the way down to 1.

As such, the outlines do look a little rough around the edges (annoyingly they looked fine on the 3DS, but I guess imperfections show a bit more once you export it at a higher resolution (they're almost invisible on the 3DS screen). So yeah, I've had the idea for this in my head for a while now. Admittedly having a fixed canvas size and shape did make the perspective quite tricky, and I did have to make a few compromises in terms of proportions/ anatomy just to fit everything in the picture the way I wanted. I'd heard some comments on the WIP version that it looked like Charizard was sitting down, but at the same time I couldn't really afford to make him any taller or he'd go off the top of the picture. So I tried drawing a bit of shadow under his foot to make it look more like he's walking away from the viewer (and dragging Dragonite with him P: ) Also, god damn drawing Dragonite's wings at that angle was hard. D: I still don't think I got them spot on.

I just wish they'd do what they did with Dawn and have one of the travelling companions pull second protagonist again. Rather than just relegate them to the sidelines, actually have someone who gets just as much focus as Ash does. They're fleshing out Serena a little beyond the cardboard cutout that she was for the first year or so, but she's still very much second fiddle.

Not even wanting to sound like I'm being overly snarky here, but at the moment the most optimistic I can basically be is "Well, it probably can't get any worse than it is at the moment, so hopefully things will get better from here". Admittedly, as others have said, there is the fact that the main Sonic Team group hasn't done a game since Generations, which was good. So hopefully the next time they put out a game it'll be good, too.

Huh, apparently quite a lot of the dialogue was changed between the US and EU versions of the game. Apparently the US version is more deliberately cheesy-90s and puntastic. ...kinda glad we didn't get that. >_>

My guess would be 'desperation'. When it was obvious that Rise of Lyric was a steaming heap of ass and that everyone hated it, they probably realised that they needed to cast the net as wide as possible to try and sell more than five copies.
