  1. Is no one gonna talk about more DLC coming though?

We actually have a chance of more character rpisodes coming to this game.

      Blaze is a necessity

with equally bland level design, short linear stages, enemy spam and lots of automation, homing attack chains and boost fodder

because it's so fun you want to do it with all 50 of sonic's friends

I mean, I actually don't "hate"  (Because that's a very strong word) the game? I'm not part of "the bandwagon", I was pretty excited for it when it got announced and had wanted to learn as much as I could about it. That, and I bought into Sega's "we've changed" hype, especially with Mania being so good. But what I've seen AND played (I went to PAX West, so unlike most naysayers I have actually gotten hands on with the game), it is everything that I consider to be wrong with the current direction of the series ramped up to beyond what it should've, x150.

      Which again, are:

-lot of automation/linearity with not a whole lot of control/freedom

-lack of gimmicks/setpieces like to set levels apart from one another

-lack of alternate paths, the ones that are there amount to no more than a  quick diversion with very little reason to go there, or inversely make the main path pointless by skipping past most the level

-forced gameplay gimmicks which seem to take away from the experience rather than add to it, or split up time/development that could've been used to flesh out the main styles of gameplay even more (ti really is like they're trying to do too much all at once)

Also I've preordered the game so if anything I'm part of the problem, supporting the increase in laziness and style-over-substance. But mark my words, I'll refund the game if it's disappointing to me the whole way through.

i don't know why it double posted that

Listen to what I mean, not what I say. My problem is the constant repetition and increased volume of the complaints, not the complaints themselves.

That and these problems have nothing to do with being excited for more DLC characters.

Actually, it does have to do with the dlc. From what I've seen in the Shadow trailer, his level is even more of what I've complained about. There's a section which has the layout of the level he's in be used at least once more throughout the level (the one at the beginning of the video, at 6 seconds in, is nearly the same as the one 40 seconds in). If that's the level of quality for the level design I can expect from the DLC, it's not worth it to me, even if it's free.

Again, we're talking about DLC characters. I told you that, and you wrote another paragraph about why you don't like the level design.

But... playing as the character means playing through the level?
It amounts to the same thing for me, what's the fun in playing as another character if the experience is going to be the same?

If it's any consolation, I think it is a good thing that we finally do have more player characters and I am all for even more (as long as the number isn't excessive), but above that I think it's far more important they fix the glaring problems they have before they add anything more, or it'll take away even more from what they do have.
