  1. What's great about this is that looking at the kind of paint that's been used (and going on similarities to the old Sonic statue that was outside Sonic's Spinball at Alton Towers) is that the statue's now going to be weatherproof to a degree as well. Assuming the supports it's on hold well, that statue's set for a while I'd say.
  2. Without a doubt my best Christmas film of all time. There's just something incredibly endearing about the character being a believable, grumpy old northerner. 😋 Kind of makes that heart of gold all the more apparent when it comes out. Some of my own to add. One film I frequently watched with my sisters around Christmas was the movie "Rudolph the Movie". It's a unique, oddly well produced musical movie which is a fun Rudolph origin story. Plenty of problems though, don't get me wrong. I rather like it though given it pretty much goes into and covers off each verse in the song in a fun and interesting way. Also... the movie in its entirety is online! Next is a wildcard. It kinda fits into the "Die Hard" classification of Christmas movie in that it's not specifically about Christmas, but it takes place around Christmas, and I love to watch around Christmas time - "Why Charlie Brown? Why?" It's a Peanuts film/PSA about leukemia/cancer and it's a genuinely heartwarming watch. There's little footage of the movie online anymore, but I implore anyone to check it out if they can. The ending still gets me every time.
  3. I never touched Sonic and the Secret Rings again after realising just how terrible the waggle-controls were implemented and how unplayable they made the game. Looking at YOU "Don't touch the rings" missions. Empire City's night stage had my raging pretty hard too.

  5. I can't say I've received anything along those lines, however it is listing my expected delivery date as being the 16th rather than the 15th of August. Will just have to see. Got the digital download pre-ordered from the PS Store either way so I'll be able to at least play the game on launch day.

  7. You can catch all the goings on right here:

  9. Would it be possible to see a sample before I hit that download link? I don't want to seem paranoid, but I wouldn't mind seeing both the font and the package contents of what it is I'm downloading

  12. Amiibo in the UK have gotten MUCH easier to get in the past month or so. It's simply a matter of keeping an eye on a few retailers (GAME, Argos, Smyths etc) and then just ordering when you see them. Even the official Nintendo Store has been pretty great with Amiibo availability as of late. Another hint I have (if you don't want to pre-order) is to not just check online stock, but local store stock as well. This is especially true for places like GAME and Argos. I'm pretty sure Falco won't be available to P/O for a little bit anyhow.
  13. And in one fell swoop... Weston Super Sonic has hit its funding goal! We're amazed. Thank you to everybody who has donated thus far! We have the means to host the event! If the donations keep up, we can afford to bring in some great guests and more! Right now, we're batting at £1156, which puts us not far away from being able to add a further two guests to our lineup People will be wanting to hear who we've got in mind for our guests, but be assured that you will be finding out soon. Thanks again everybody!
  14. As it was my leaving meal at work, and boy did my colleagues come up with an awesome leaving present...11816092_10153160645373892_4097727083346

  16. The more I see of this series, the more I find myself thinking that not even Scott knows what the actual story is. There seem to be so many inconsistencies and (possibly) errors coming up. At this point, I honestly think that Scott is just making everything up as he goes along and having a bit of a laugh with it. With every new bit of information, everything seems to become more convoluted and confusing instead of more clear. Kind of like how somebody tries to keep making up lies to cover themselves on something. At the end of it all, I'd LOVE to be proved wrong and for there to be some kind of official release that coherently and magically explains everything. At the moment, I honestly don't think there's a story that we can put together to make remote sense anymore. Especially with all the new details coming out of this game.

  18. Oh holy mutant teddy bears... This is different! The biggest question I'm asking now is how Scott will tie THIS one into the lore...
  19. Yes, we know ForeverSonic He helped us out a great deal as well as DJ the event for us in January this year. Awesome guy! Fastfeet joined us as well, and we received a whole load of help from James as well. All a class set of people Any help with promotion will be a brilliant help to us all of course

  21. I don't want to give the impression that I'm speaking on his behalf here, but I'd say that if Sir RubyEclipse was down with the idea of a Q&A thread, he would've created it himself But again, what do I know?
  22. Seriously. Alton Towers is a very safe resort. Anything you see coming out of the tabloids here are looking for a quick story and nothing more. After all, the very paper who seems to have gone about making a daily habit of bashing Alton Towers is now publishing stories about the attraction's 'accidents' being a result of the place being cursed by evil spirits. Right. In all seriousness, the risks we take day to day such as taking a drive in the car, taking a plane to go on holiday and even climbing into lawn chairs carry much higher probabilities of serious injury. Heck. You're more than 3 times more likely to be struck by lightning than you are to sustain bad injury on a roller coaster. Of course, if people are still unwilling to go even with odds like that, then I guess there's no stopping them from doing so. Even if most of the discouragement is from scaremongering tabloids.
  23. Yeah. The Mirror just seems to be insanely trigger happy on Alton Towers. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if somebody sneezed on a ride, and they say report with some crap like 'Ride responsible for massive hay fever outbreak' or something.
  24. ... The mirror is a trashy tabloid. Do you realise that? Roller coaster breakdowns happen all the time. There was no 'accident' here. It's a minor inconvenience that meant the ride had to stop. There was no danger to anybody in any of these situations. The Smiler's crash was certainly an accident/incident, make no mistake about that. If this had happened any time before The Smiler's crash, then sites like this simply wouldn't care. It's non-researched, click-baiting sensationalist garbage, and nothing more. Even a few weeks ago, they reported another ride at the park (Octonauts) had a horrible problem... When it was actually a standard ride evacuation. And sorry. Lines like 'Left dangling upside down for hours' just make me and other ride enthusiasts cringe. That's like... the absolute lowest. That's the kind of shit you hear from your friends on the playground when you're 7. Are they upside down in that picture? No.
