  1. No Mania 2, and still no new music collections on Spotify. Ugh.

  2. I put myself on the Wait List for the F4F Varia Suit Samus statue they released last year IIRC. At least, their site said it was available for Wait List, so I did the thing.

I don't know if I kept my OG Samus statue from ten years ago, or threw it out.

  3. That "just did my taxes" feeling.

    1. Your Vest Friend

      Your Vest Friend

      Can't relate.

    2. Patticus

@Your Vest Friend Well, in the UK the HMRC will handle your taxes for you, but in the states, 'tis not the case.

  4. Speaking as someone whose primary music experience is Spotify at work (YT is forbidden), I'm real disappointed in the lack of Nintendo OSTs on there.

  5. I thought I heard the voters say
    "Leave us, Donald, leave us."
    Ten days 'til Biden inaugurates,
And it's time for you to leave us.

    Leave us, Donald, leave us!
Oh, leave us, Donald, leave us!
For the tweets are gone and the nukes won't blow
And it's time for you to leave us.

Oh, his mood was foul and the tensions high.
    "Leave us, Donald, leave us!"
He stirred his crowd and they marched on high.
And it's time for you to leave us.

    Leave us, Donald, leave us!
Oh, leave us, Donald, leave us!
For the tweets are gone and the nukes won't blow
And it's time for you to leave us.

He hates to serve in this rotten gov'.
    "Leave us, Donald, leave us!"
The press is loud and there ain't no love.
And it's time for you to leave us.

    Leave us, Donald, leave us!
Oh, leave us, Donald, leave us!
For the tweets are gone and the nukes won't blow
And it's time for you to leave us.

He fears the court so he wants four more.
    "Leave us, Donald, leave us!"
Impeachment looms, he's at Putin's door,
And it's time for you to leave us.

    Leave us, Donald, leave us!
Oh, leave us, Donald, leave us!
For the tweets are gone and the nukes won't blow
And it's time for you to leave us.

  7. Mitch better have my money

    1. Harkofthewaa

Do the idiots even realize that if they don't do this they're probably gonna lose the two seats coming up for grabs?

    2. Patticus

Georgia's senate seats going blue would be the best financial outcome for every American earning under $75k a year. So, most Americans. Without them, all we get is $600. With them, an additional $1400, plus probably more.

All I know is, I got debts to pay off, savings to restore, a new phone to look into buying ('mon over here, Moto G9 Power) and I am definitely eyeing up the Samus & Ridley statues on F4F - not to mention some very nice SixthScale Star Wars figures.

    3. CrownSlayer’s Shadow

      CrownSlayer’s Shadow

@Harkofthewaa considering they also lost the presidency, that’s not really surprising.

This just seems more like last minute spite on their end as a result.

    4. Winston

McConnell already got what he wanted, a conservative majority on the Supreme Court for years to come. He doesn't care about anything else, and will happily make other Republicans look better by refusing to hold a vote while they say "Well I'd support it if the vote did happen." He'll always get re-elected so he has nothing to lose. He's just there to make the other Republicans look better while they talk about how they'd do something popular even though they never would and never will have to because of Mitch.

    5. Patticus

He is definitely a bullet sponge for the GOP, no denying that, but he clearly wants to keep the Senate a one party chamber. If he can't, Biden can (and must) expand and rebalance the Supreme Court, and work to undo much of what McConnell has been doing these last few years.

Fo'real. I first joined SSMB before some people who browse it today were even born!

  9. The Sonic music compilations on Spotify are great and all, but not including the OG Ice Cap Zone in today's winter-themed album is some bullshit.

Michael Jackson is dead and buried. I can't imagine that there are any more revelations to come out. The world is dealing with much bigger issues right now. Just own the music already. Fuck.

    1. pppp

Problem is, Both Brad Buxer and SEGA are still fighting over who owns that track.

  10. Has anyone else noticed that it's almost impossible to post here on Android? Maybe other OS' are the same, but I can't speak to them.

For example, the formatting options are extremely limited in portrait mode; the quote box is only present in landscape mode. However, in landscape, the keyboard takes up around 70% of the screen, while the address bar takes up 20% (rough estimates), leaving a basically unusable sliver of 10% of actually visible post space.

  11. Why does Sonic look like a bad fan art now?

    1. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

You need "all that bad fanart looks accurate and on model now".

  12. This is the worst timeline.

i'll bet bernie won in that timeline tho

  13. So THQ Nordic did an AMA... on 8chan.

    1. blueblur98

could they not have chose reddit or, like, just about ANYWHERE else?

  14. So, Drunks & Dragons is the best thing.

  15. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs was an excellent movie. Highly recommend.

  16. Activision & Blizzard both lost their Chief Financial Officers within a week of each other. One quit, the other fired.

  17. Sonic Mania Adventures is the best of all the Sonic cartoons.

    1. ThePrinceOfSaiyans

Indeed. Part of me wishes it would be made into a genuine show, but I'm not sure how far they can take a series with silent characters.

    2. Kiah

That’s not how you spell SatAM.

Don't get me wrong as Sonic Mania Adventures is an absolute delight providing entertainment, humor and fine characterization and character interaction all without a single word which generally isn’t my cup of tea so that makes it all the more impressive.

At the end of the day while I wouldn’t mind more SMA episodes at all I want to see more with my Sonic animations as far as time goes and I need to have my boy and crew actually talking lol.

    3. Maxtiis

The fact that a Christmas episode was made just out of the blue has me hoping that the occasional new episode will become a regular occurrence for Sonic's social media.

  18. I had a dream that Sega was developing a new Mania-inspired Sonic title; a "super chill Sonic vacation" taking players through 5 or 6 classic zones (all new level design of course).

    1. JosepHenry

      I will take 7.

  19. What fucking idiot green lit that Sonic design.

  20. Oh no, not you too, NDG. :(

      come on man

    2. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

@Blue Wisp No, and it's a dangerous way of thinking when you begin to tat everyone with that brush.

    3. Blue Wisp

      Blue Wisp

It feels like every week a well-known and respected name is exposed as being an asshole.

Like is it a side-effect of being famous or what? Common sense tells me that I should wait for confirmation or a verdict before judging but with the current social climate it's really hard to do that.

    4. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

There's definitely been a shady practice and culture of handwaving sexual assault by people in positions of power (be that celebrity status or otherwise), thats fortunately now starting to come to light. But as it's typical of all these things, our attention is skewed entirely towards those who are committing these acts and no attention is given to the fact that these people make up a minority (because it's impossible to bring attention to what is an absence of news). Those not involved outweigh those who are, but have remained silent either to protect themselves in a situation where they're powerless (much like the victims have been) or because they genuinely don't know what's going on.

In also cynical enough to expect that at least a few of the claims being made are totally false in an attempt to jump on the bandwagon, because people are shit. As claims against Tyson have come about they should be treated as seriously as any other and the pattern suggests that he is indeed guilty. But... Don't get get into the habit of expecting the worst or thinking that there's reason to be suspicious just because of someone's status.

  21. Geonosis & Obi-Wan finally making it into Battlefront II, if anyone here still plays:

    1. Failinhearts

I got the game recently, and there was no better time for me to get into it with all this Clone Wars love.

Also, next week, the Clone Troopers are getting 212th Legion skins. Been saving up my credits...

    2. Patticus

Awesome! I hope you've been enjoying the game - since progression and microtransactions were revamped it's pretty much been the game we've all wanted. The only trouble is EA downsized the BF2 dev team significantly for BF5 and due to sluggish sales so new content takes a long while. :(

Here's hoping for Cad Bane & Rex, and Ahsoka & Ventress, at some point soon. I can't see them focusing on TCW after Dooku and Anakin show up though, it'll be time to shift to Rogue One or the sequel trilogy, maybe the OT but I feel like it has enough content for now - though a Blockade Runner map would be cool to see.

    3. Failinhearts

Apparently the game got datamined and Grievous has lines referring to Ahsoka and Padme.

So you'd be surprised about the Clone Wars love here!

But yeah, I'm enjoying the game quite a bit! I play offline, but that's more than enough for me to get a Star Wars fix.

    4. Patticus

Padme? Eurgh, really? When we could be getting Rex? God damn... Oh well.

Online is more rewarding for me tbh, matches get incredibly intense at times, it's so much fun.

    5. Failinhearts

      I get you.

Just overall anxiety to play online on any game.

      and yes, when's rex

    6. Patticus

Is it the rude talk of other players? Because if you don't have a headset plugged in you ain't hearing your teammates.

    7. Failinhearts

Not really that, I know you can disable chat. Just overall anxiety of sucking in a game in front of a ton of people.

    8. Patticus

I can relate, but the reality of games like Battlefront is that you have your good games, and you have your bad games. Everyone has runs of both, and sometimes things go incredibly well or really horribly. Nobody's laughing at the people doing badly, and the squad system helps.

It can get frustrating AF, esp. when one or two players dominate everyone, but it's still fun to me.

    9. Failinhearts

Yeah, and you can have your fun with that. I know that online playing has its appeal. Just isn't me for pretty much any game. Even something like Smash, I never touch the online option.

    10. Patticus

Fair enough, I'm not really an online game either tbh, but these games are a mighty good time to me, so I make an exception for them.

    11. Failinhearts

Yeah. I just enjoy going on arcade mode myself and just setting up my own match up to shoot shit up.

That's more than enough for me.

  22. Y'all are completing Spyro way too quickly. That shit took me weeks, nay months, as a child.

    1. TheOcelot

The Spyro trilogy are tough games to beat for first-time players no matter how old they are.

    2. Ferno

especially now that we're all crotchety old adults with jobs and time-sapping responsibilities

    3. TCB

Havent never played Spyro 1 (and life gettingin the way) im just finishing it today.

  23. One wonders if Sony may be following Nintendo's example by giving up an E3 conference in exchange for smaller, more numerous video events scattered across the year.

They have a history of following Nintendo's lead wherever practically possible, and it would more than likely prove quite the money saver in the long run.

    1. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

E3 is becoming increasingly irrelevant, so I'd be game for this.

    2. The Deleter

      The Deleter

Just save everything for PSX imo. I never found that event all that appealing when they reveal all their heavy hitters for E3 beforehand, but if they switched focus as the main event, I could easily see PSX replacing all E3's needs. They wouldn't have to ditch the live attendance and demo booths, either, unlike Nintendo.

Either way I'm of the increasing opinion that predetermined showcase events shouldn't have so much weight on their shoulders as E3 does anymore, so I'm cool if it morphs into something else. Companies should reveal titles when they're good and ready rather than filling a "winning" reveal checklist, for both the devs and the industry's sake.

  24. I guess 2020 well be the PS5 reveal year, then.

    1. TheOcelot

No Last of Us Part 2 or Death Stranding to show off at E3 2019 will be disappointing, unless both will be out by then.

    2. Patticus

Sony could just hold another event at another time.
