They're called tagging barbs, and you're supposed to feed the slim end back through the hole to get the barb out in one piece.

  2. I can't really take your rap seriously when it's named after a Nickelodeon cartoon character (and sounds bad too).

"Cosmo, Wanda!  I wish I had my own rap song!"

      "You got it, Timmy!"

"Nevermind.  Why not give me a baby godparent and an annoying talking dog, instead?"

  3. My stance on MLPFiM from best to worst by season:

    2 > 1 > 4=5 > 6 > 3

  11. Let me show you something!

  12. Voted earlier today. And honestly, no matter who wins in this election, God is still in control, even during the politics in Jesus's birth and when face to face with Pontius Pilate. His plans still prevails and are in effect, no matter the circumstances.

    I recommend give John 16 a good read: http://biblehub.com/niv/john/16.htm

But the verse that stands out and gives me peace and hope is the final one, v.33: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Unless you're an Atheist and don't believe in entities.

Or believe in a different god.

      Or believe in multiple gods.

Tbh the whole "God's plan" thing is one part of Christianity I can never quite understand.  Like if you assume everything ever is part of God's plan then what is the point of even living life, you have no control over anything, everything that is bound to happen will happen.  God is all loving yet billions upon billions of people will suffer in the only life as we know it they will ever get to have because of some mysterious plan we are unable to comprehend.  And it means you may as well tolerate all the evil in the world with open arms too.  Then you get "Christians" who are supposed to believe this yet apparently (depending on the Christian), equal marriage, sex before marriage and abortions are not part of God's plan and must definitely be intervened upon.

If it gives people peace of mind then power to them, but it's not for me.  Trying to put myself in the mindset of "it's all God's plan", as I'd been partially raised to, when my best friend committed suicide at age 20 didn't make me feel any better about it.  It just made me think "if that's the case, I hate God and have no interest in blindly worshipping him because a book written by men told me to".

      The Deleter

Yeah, and that control sort of indicates He wants the country to go down the crapper, just by these nominee choices alone. I wouldn't necessarily take heart in that. For personal matters, sure, but not for global ones.

Focusing on one side of the control while ignoring the other never really makes sense to me, and can come off as incredibly wrong when it goes to the degree of claiming to know God's will in advance, tbh. But that's another topic entirely

You can't have one without the other

@JezMM: Exactly. It's just a way to focus on specific things to make your own thoughts and choices feel better, while ignoring the rest for whatever reason.

As for why accept the aspect at all, well, typically it means that in the grand schemes, what will happen, will happen. It's not exactly "everything is meaningless", as God's control mostly means he's never not in control, but he isn't exactly the only deciding factor of what goes down. Free will can't exist if, well, it doesn't exist. People's actions still matter, as if you just took this perspective of Christianity as literal and sat around doing nothing, plenty of bad stuff will happen that you could have prevented. Heck, if Christianity as a whole took that perspective to heart, no one would attempt to spread the word to anyone, and therefore, Christianity as a whole would be utterly useless.

It's sort of confusing to try and get into words. Basically, the guidelines for this kind of relation are: God's will is, to the maximum extent, everything that he has planned will go down and nothing will stop it, and he can never really be out of control, as he wouldn't really be omnipotent in the first place then; but since the concept of free will is the whole idea this world revolves around, that will keeps a loose enough grip for our decisions to actually matter in the grand scheme of things, and the ultimate deciding factor for a lot of things. So things like personal decisions still effect those in the world around us to a degree, while stuff like disasters are mostly set events waiting to happen, in a way just like death.

It's why I have a problem with people constantly going about saying "GOD'S PLAN, GOD'S PLAN" as it just makes it seem like exactly what you're saying, but I believe it mostly comes down to the individual regardless, and whether they accept or deny it in the first place. That's the basis of the religion's core in the first place, and you can see it reflected in thousands of people's choices and aspects of life. I won't go into examples, as it's just callous considering what the religion deals with, but in essence it's exactly why I see the singleminded mindset as more harmful than not: Your choice matters, first and foremost, and what you'll do with the knowledge.

That does shed some more light on the concept for me, as a thing people can believe in to feel better about the world, thanks for the detailed response.

  13. CN recently just released some original minisodes that look really promising pilots for actual series. First up Infinity Train:

Next up is Victor and Valentino which has this Gravity Falls with Mexican culture:

More of this CN and less of TTG.

    1. Briraka

      Dear Cartoon Network,

I want more Infinity Train, please.

      Sincerely, Briraka

    2. Ryannumber1gamer

Why less of TTG though? It's your new favourite show!

    3. TCB

Holy crap Infinity Train looks promising.

    4. kirby1up

but surely something like these can't compare to the superior ben 10 reboot series currently airing.(honestly even though I do enjoy the ben 10 reboot. if it gets the axe for infinity train or victor & valentino then I won't complain)

    5. Adamabba

That infinity train girl looks like Frankie from Fosters home
