  1. Wow that was quick fix for Sonic's design:

    Spoiler

Though seriously that the ripoff character design looks more decent than Sonic's and that this is fully animated really hurts inside. Also, there's a female love interest named Rose (sans Amy) and speaking of the Dio Brando jokes with the trailer scene with Sonic and missiles, Dio's VA is actually in the ripoff movie, no joke!

How is it that the ripoff movie, even though not that great, feel like it get things more right than the actual $90 mil Hollywood budget one?

  2. If they're willing to fix some of this crap, it'll be better if they delay this for a year or two. To fix Sonic's horrid design as well as the lame @$$ script that needs an overhaul, getting rid of the uselessness that is Tom (replaced with Tails) as well as the cliche military/govt. baddies. Or better yet just do a hard reset on the whole thing to make it fully animated. But sadly Paramount already dug their money pit grave worth of $90 mil for this sh!t already and minor tweaks won't cut it.

Anyways, even though it's been talked about how Gangster's Paradise is an ill fitting and low energy song for Sonic (how is any of this gangster anyway?), I'd like to throw in some better suggestions that are fits proper, being more energetic, amp/pumped, upbeat, catchier and/or speedy tempo. Or at least, fits Sonic mostly, not necessarily the trailer.

    Spoiler

Speaking of the Blue BLUR, I think this song is more apt esp. with the WOO-HOO/chorus that can easily be matched when Sonic bursts into high speeds.

Going with something a bit ironic in title but still catchy as well as matches Sonic's persona lyrically wise (even if out of context) esp. with the part

    Quote

Cause 99 miles per hour, baby is how fast that I like to go

and that alone fits better than all of Gangster's Paradise:

Or for something just for a speedy pace and fun/playful despite lyrics, maybe something like this:

I'm the only one who didn't found Jim Carrey's scene funny? He just sounded... Annoying. "Here's a bunch of fancy words and -SCIENCE STUFF-, you don't get it because you're DUMB! BOOO".

Not funny at all... Felt forced.

Visually he looks nice at the end, but in the other scenes? That's just the Lazy Town guy playing Ace Ventura.

Yeah, Jim is hamming it up in the worst way possible. Heck, the writing is awful even Sonic's quip about running an amount of steps was just blah and the part with him in the bag wasn't even that funny IMO. It's like Pontac/Graff hijacked the script but even that sounds unfair for them too.

  4. So this week’s episode is The Point of No Return or what I like to call Finding Dusty Pages: The Montage. Seriously, nearly over half the episode was basically this.

It was rather meh for me. Definitely down from last week’s.

I did like the flashback leading up to the first episode of the series, some of the world building, and the jock pony that had Dusty’s mail.

The plot didn’t appeal to me and rather predictable even the contrivance of the overdue book’s title. Twilight freaking out and overreacting to minimal things has become less of an endearing trait and more of a tiresome running gag over time. Moondancer being a mere cameo, not engaging in the plot more was kinda disappointing. Again, much of the runtime was dedicated to the montages which for the most part wasn’t that interesting and just mere padding.

    A so-so episode for me.

Don't you know? Much like gloves and socks, people being bald is just simply too unrealistic and silly for this film about a 3-foot tall bipedal hedgehog that runs fast and busts up robots.

I mean, come on, an older person not having hair? That would just be silly.

Also, having a big round belly is unrealistic too. What is he? Santa Claus? PAH!

Thinking about it, Will Sasso would have been a good if not better choice for Eggman.

  6. This week’s the 200th episode, Twilight’s Seven. And the VAs had a hand in the writing as well.

I find it quite alight, likeable. I seem to be leaning towards Slice of Life as the better milestone episode though.

I like some of the jokes, esp. the parts with the princesses, much of the continuity nods and callbacks, and Spike.

Personally, I wasn’t fond of the premise of the whole sibling rivalry nor crown heist plot esp. for something that is for a milestone episode. It felt too much a normal/generic episode for it and would’ve been place at any other time. Not that I was expecting something like Slice of Life, but maybe some more Equestrian lore around the Princesses in their prime/youth with Starswirl and the Pillars. Or maybe an in-depth villain backstory like Grogar or Chrysalis would’ve been a better fit. The jokes felt hit or miss for the most part, sometimes it felt a bit too off or random at points.

    Overall, it was okay.

  7. So this week’s episode Uprooted focuses on the Student 6 and the demolished Tree of Harmony, two things I barely care about in the show. Though I still prefer it if they just replanted the Golden Oaks Library in place of the ToH and have it come back before series end.

Still this was a rather dull episode. Basically, a rehash of Castle Sweet Castle and not as memorable or good.

The montage of getting the permission slips felt like unnecessary filler and could easily omitted. The premise isn’t interesting for me and the standard plot of the friends bickering each other over how to do things with the one who kept silent having the compromised or overall ‘best’ solution. The students were kinda annoying at parts. Didn’t like the song at all (maybe if there was Mane 6 version it might sound better). Didn't care about the tree coming back as another gaudy castle structure either.

Again, it’s a rather dull one.

  8. It’s the Beginning of the End for the start of the final season of FiM. And marking the return of a villain! Well, a weak villain from a weak season, S3, that even the announcement of his return I felt rather ho-hum. But does the premiere convince me otherwise and do a turn around?

Eh, not really. Kinda mixed on this one.

Things to like: the whole league of villains is interesting enough but feels like there should’ve been more villains there to feel like a greater threat. Yet still like to see where this goes. Some parts with Pinkie Pie and mostly with Discord.

I just really didn’t like the whole putting down the princesses and referring to their uselessness as a joke. It doesn’t excuse bad inconsistent writing in the slightest and how the writers keep changing over the seasons doesn’t help. Pointing out the plot holes/devices doesn’t make them go away. Also, the retirement angle felt a bit force and doesn’t make sense in a way. I mean, how was there a period of peace in Equestria for years? You mean, in intervals between seasons when the threats happen with yearly gaps? Because even though they stopped threats in the past, didn’t mean that all the dangers stopped coming. It would’ve made sense if the sisters were just taking a vacation and have Twilight and friends take care of things when they’re gone.

Yeah, Sombra is just an evil tyrant through and through where egotism was his downfall and just didn’t do it for me. Sure, he destroyed the tree and all, but still. Also, as usual, Shining and Cadence gets shafted a bit early too. The pacing is also a bit everywhere too, hopping between multiple locations and throwing in many characters. Twilight panicking felt tiring along with the whole relying on others thing.

Overall, it’s a mixed bag for me.

  9. Yeah, the current writing style for jokes in the games are just poorly written and executed without any kind of wit to it, trying too hard to be 'kewl'. Honestly, the writers from DMC series would be perfect to give Sonic the fine balance of humor and wit.

  10. Speaking of Sonic's friends and since they won't be in the movie, what I would really hate is that they nickname some of the human characters as characters from the games for a cheap 'wink wink nod nod' reference. Such as "Hey, look! This guy on the police force is an ace pilot and likes foxes! We call him Tails!" and "This guy used to be a heavy weight boxer and mainly uses his fists to solve his problems! He's called Knuckles!" or an officer named Amy Rose that uses a sledgehammer to fight off robots/badniks in the movie's climax. I'd say 'screw this movie and hard!' even more so.
