Just finished my Julian Robotnik speed sculpt! Limited myself to just over an hour on this one, still learning the ropes so it could be better but it's not too bad I hope!

Swiss reacted to Doctor MK in Mario Kart 8 (Wii-U)
Following up on the Mario Kart 8 E4 promotion that was detailed earlier, I saw an advert for the game on the channel today along with a few details of the competition they're running - full information on which can be found here:
    http://www.channel4.com/explore/mk8/index.html

Want to win a Special L Mario Kart Cup and have your MKTV replay shown on television? It's a simple as getting the game, uploading your footage directly to YouTube, and copying the URL via the entry form. And you can enter it as many times as you like, so if you're from the UK, you may as well give it a shot!

All 32 of the track videos from the website strung into a sequence, this is worth just listening to because of the pure sound track

I believe the wii-u may have a partial saviour in this game, I mean the detail and care put into every aspect of this game is simply amazing, I mean alone, the soundtrack, the courses, and the mechanics could sell tons, them all combined into one package is simply awedropping

Swiss reacted to Dr. Homem in Bob Hoskins - 1942 - 2014
The closing sequence in The Long Good Friday really demonstrated what an incredible actor he was. You see about eight different emotions pass over his face in the space of seconds. He was also a great Smee in Hook, and we can't forget his performance in Who Framed Roger Rabbit - you have no idea of the caliber of acting it takes to talk to nothing and make it look convincing. What a tragic moment. The group of criminally underrated talent that Hollywood has lost this year continues to grow. Such a shame.

    Been a while since I updated this, eh? Not that I have much to update with right now. ;___;

This seems to have gotten way more love than it deserves, so I might as well dump it here.

This was a failed idea for a sig a while back. I say failed because it was too small for the text to be read clearly. I couldn't be bothered to go back and change it so I just scrapped it.

I've got a lot more work I've done/am doing in the pipeline, I'll post them up in the near future. Not that anybody will probably look at it, but I'll do it anyway!

Swiss got a reaction from SuperStingray in Nintendo 3DS
It wasn't necessarily the different route that irked me the most; it was the lack of story, flawed battle system, forgettable characters, lack of companions, tedious puzzles and so forth.

This is coming from someone who loves Super Paper Mario, too.

Swiss reacted to Nintendoga in Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Wii-U)
People seem to forget that Retro wanted to work on the sequel to DKCR. It's not as if they're being forced against their will to work on this.

If they made a third game, I wouldn't mind. Would I want them to take another shot at Metroid or a new IP or even Zelda? Yeah, but  when it comes down to it, it's what they want to do rather then what the fans want them to do.

They're not wasting their talents on this game or making this game as filler just so the Wii-u can have something. They poured their hearts out while making DKCR (arguably one of the best platformers last gen), and Tropical Freeze, and it's sad to see a majority of fans do nothing but complain about how it's not "Metroid Prime 4".

It's also completely juvenile to even compare this to the NSMB series. Seriously? Common complaints of the NSMB series is that it's souless, mediocre, bland, and rehashy.

Does this game even remotely look like any of those four words I just said?

I'm not telling you to love this game or buy it day one. I don't care if you even hate it, but at least hate it for the right reasons.

"I don't like this game cause it doesn't look that fun."
    "I'm not a DKC fan."
"There's nothing really throwing me in towards this."

    That's fine.

"I don't like this cause Retro is wasting their talents on this."
"Retro should be doing Metroid Prime 4."
"I want to see a new IP, fuck this game."

    That's utterly retarded.

Swiss reacted to SuperStingray in Microsoft acquires rights to “Gears of War" from Epic Games
It feels weird calling Gears of War a generic cover shooter considering that it was the one to popularize the idea; it's like criticizing a Shakespeare play for using quotes that everyone's heard a million times.  If anything, it's one of the few series of the genre to actually do cover well.  A lot of games have problems creating the right amount of "stickiness" and general feedback, but Gears gameplay is intuitive and satisfying; I always use its reload mechanic as an example of QTEs done right.

That being said, they really need to evolve the gameplay to keep it relevant.  Ever since Vanquish raised the bar for cover shooters, GoW's been tepid at best.
