Swiss got a reaction from Detective Shadzter in Spoiler Thread (Spoiler Tags Please)
Most people don't have any problems pressing all these buttons in heated moments (say...switching weapons with Y in L4D2 for instance?), but a simple game like Sonic 4 is nothing, surely?

I'm pretty sure he was referring to downloaded games in the DSiWare sense. Not flash card sense.

There are a bunch of problems with this statement, but I will sidestep them all and simply say that I am greatly saddened by the fact that the fanbase is seemingly so desperate for a handheld collection that a half-assed (which it is), barely-running homebrew emulator (which, even on the DSi, it pretty much is; and especially is on the DSL) with content-stripped roms (which they are) and a gameplay-breaking menu system (which it has), all for $30 (which it costs), is the definition "far more than adequate;" and I personally find "completely fucking pathetic" or "completely shameless money grab" to be far better descriptors.

Edit: And by all means, let the neg rep come in.

Swiss got a reaction from Tailer in 5 Episodes!?
^ I think I might just have to agree there. ^

As much as I'm looking forwad to Sonic 4, and as much as I'm really sure it's going to be a great game, something's telling me 5 may just be a little too much. Don't get me wrong, of course I'd buy them, but my only worry is variation in levels etc. If they could pull out some great variety every time, it'd be worth it.

It's a real shame about these leaks, but I agree...I'd very much prefer Sonic's shoes or or Eggman's suit to be honest.

I'd be willing to place money on the fact that most people, like myself, are just going to buy the game without even trying the Trial/Demo beforehand. And most of those would be people who were crying over the tiniest details of the game.

Granted, there are a few reasons why I'd see people would complain, but some of them are practically non-existent in terms of making the game a joy to play. If these people buy and play the game, THEN explain with some form of reason how they don't like it, that's fair enough.

The price does seem a little steep for just one character and one track...I thought it would be like music games and charge around 160 per character and 240 for a track.

Finally, here's my entry! After painfully trying to use Photoshop, I've finally coloured and put a background to my drawing.

I will be officially entering it (with my donation of course) tomorrow but for now...I'm tired.

A few things to bare in mind when looking at this...
    1: I can't draw bodies very well.
2: I'm not too great at drawing backgrounds, hence why I didn't draw one here.
3: I've not used Photoshop for an age, so my skills (as little as they were anyway) are very rusty.

Here's the image and caption, hope you like it! (Sorry if the image is mahoosive)

Knuckles: SONIC!! Have you been using performance-enhancing Chaos EmeROIDS??!!
Sonic: Uh...um...NO! Seriously, it's not what it looks like! Erm...Eggman must've planted them in my backpack!!

EDIT: E-mailed it off to Shadzter and donated my bit to Sonic Relief. Keep up the great work guys!

I actually think it looks horrible. No disrespect to the creator, as you can definitely see how much work he's put into it, but it's just not Sonic AT ALL.

How Sonic 4 should have been done? Seriously, no thank you!!

In relation to some of the bad Sonic clones/bad advertising that's been popping up lately, I stumbled across this:

Only today I found out about that "Ring Exploit" with Wentos and I gotta say...

    WENTOS IS A FUCKING MORON.

Why the hell would you sell someone something (Chocolate in this case), then buy it back from them at 5 times the damn price?

I'm not even going to attempt to read them all then.
Seriously though, you think this is bad? Sega's official forums are wrecked, no...FUCKED.

And that's the best decision for Sega (or any company in that postion), just truck on like nothing's happened.
I didn't bother listening to Endri's stuff and don't consider it a leak of any kind. Even if he did play it it's still his opinion, so what effect should it have on any one of us? NONE.

As I recall, the full beta of Sonic Advance 3 was leaked a few months ahead of the final game that same year and had about as much effect.

Just caught up with the last ten pages. Man, that was depressing.

Yeah, Endri's likely in the shit for leaking stuff. But that's Endri. Not us. Not Retro. Not anyone who decides they want to talk about it.

You can't blame a bunch of Sonic the Hedgehog fans for putting up - whether true or false - images and info pertaining to a not-yet-released game on their website. The worst Retro would get, if Sega decided to go after them, would be a request to remove it and (possibly) information on the person who supplied the information. Things that I don't believe the dudes at Retro are incapable of, they're cool cats. But as has been said, whatever they decide is their own business - far be it for anyone to tell them how to run their site unless its the copyright holder involved taking issue with something.

The idea that talking about something is a crime is so funny I won't even start.

And leaks happen all the time, not just to Sega. Yeah, it's a bummer for the company that stuff got leaked early, but again the business in that regard is only between those specific parties involved (i.e. Sega and Endri and Browny/whatever his name is). It won't make a blind bit of difference to PR and budget, because in an instance such as this companies are taught to 'No Comment' and act as if nothing happened. It certainly won't make any promotion Sega plan null and void - do you think the world and his dog sit at the Internet, on Sonic fansites every five seconds to glean the latest leak and information? Not really. A lot of promotion dollars will go towards TV marketing, print and other awareness schemes to attract the general gamer.

I'd like to throw a curveball to prove my point. Sonic Heroes. No a lot of you may have forgotten this, but it got the absolute shit leaked leaked out it, a whole month or two before general release. E3 demos were published online, assets were (again) bungled by Sega, almost the entire soundtrack was leaked... did it stop Sonic Heroes from being one of the biggest selling Sonic the Hedgehog titles of all time? I'll have a soda to go with my big fat 'NO' there, cheers.

The act of the leak may have been a breach of contract, and thus illegal. But it's not illegal for us. None of us are guilty of any crime. And it's certainly not illegal for anyone to get a little bit excited about an unreleased game. If anything, it's helping Sega's case by throwing it into the spotlight!

Sega will truck on regardless, as it always has done, and everyone will have forgotten about the leak in a week - unless of course, people start arguing over legalities, censorship and throwing communist insults at one another for ten whole fucking pages.
