I'm pretty sure most people around here will know this very well, but Sonic's insta-shield move in Sonic 3 & Knuckles is really useful in a lot of situations. For example:
-You can use it to easily defeat spiny enemies such as Orbinaut, Skorp and Spikebonker, as it makes you immune to their spikes!
-You can use it to hit monitors, enemies and bosses much more easily, since it increases Sonic's attack radius.
-If you time it just right, you can pass through  projectiles, flamethrowers and other small/thin hazards unharmed!

Well even with the backtracking, I still managed to beat the game with all the Crystals and Blueprints within a day. So hearing that there's going to be more stages in each level makes more comforting to know that within each level, there's going to be 1 or 2 main stages and a couple of extra ones. It seems like there's going to be much more bang for your buck with F&I and that's pretty neat, if I say so myself.
Also GameInformer posted their first impressions of Fire & ice and it's positive, surprisingly.

He mentions that the game is more closer to the classic speedy gameplay the series was known for. Which I kind of already expected, again that Tokyo Joyopolis fottage from a year back showed how fast Sonic's Air Dashes and Spindash can go, it's very likely this could be a game that I would speedrun for the fun of it.
But here's something that caught my eye, when the guy mentions his experience with one of the bosses (The Tiki Montser thing). " As Sonic, I dodged the attacks of the giant tiki monster's hand and then countered with a homing attack, then swapped to Amy to hammer the ground to build a platform for Sonic to jump up and attack the monster's head. "
I wonder if Fire & Ice will pull an Advance 3 and make unique strategies for a boss with whatever duo you use? That could bring in some nice replayable value tbh so that's another nice plus in my books.

To all Spanish SSMB members: Sonic Boom has finally debuted in Spain's Clan TV channel last Monday the 11th! They air at 20:10 every weekday, -and again in the morning at 8:40, I think-. Any episodes you've missed can be watched in the series' Clan website in both Spanish and English.
I actually find it funny, and potentially entertaining for all audiences despite being clearly aimed at children. What do you think?

To Hogfather: you should fix "March 23rd 00" to "March 21st 00".
By the way, how excited are you all for Big's Big Fishing Adventure 3? It's less than two months away from now!
In all seriousness, after having played the ROM hack "Big's Fishing Derby" by flamewing, it would be cool if they released a fishing minigame of some sort, maybe as a browser game. I'd find it disappointing if we don't get anything at all after all the teasing!

    Hello everyone!
My name is Javi, and I live in Cáceres, a small town in Extremadura (Spain), a region full of nature and beautiful landscapes. I really like platforming games such as Mario, Sonic and DK, but Sonic clearly stands out above the others: traversing huge, beautiful worlds at high speeds is the best experience I've found and I'm sure to ever find in the gaming world! I'm currently studying Software Engineering, so I'm hope I'll soon be able to create my own little games, though I'm always a little too lazy with such things .
I've been lurking this site and forum since the times of Sonic Lost World (which I really liked and I'm playing right now in my winter Holiday), and now I'm joining right in time for the 25th. It's always nice to find people who still appreciate Sonic in this era when platformers and classic videogame series and characters have fallen behind new types of games.
