  6. I'll remember you as the guy with a lot of red in his sig. The roads outside are getting really full of water, and my basements starting to have water leak inside...
  7. Over here in Maryland the metro system connecting us to Virginia and DC has been shut down. It's also been getting increasingly rainy and windy. Schools here and in DC have been cancelled for today and tomorrow as well. Also my aunt is bringing me chinese food because some stores don't care. o:
  8. *scurries in* So... I do have a slight issue with a first Hispanic princess being white but not because I think all Hispanics are brown or anything, especially since I'm Hispanic and I'm sort of (very) white. :V tl;dr- There's racism in Latin America too, with a preference for white people. If you've ever watched telenovelas or programming from latin american countries you might notice a lot of the actors are white Hispanics. Even in Latin American countries there's a preference for white features and such. White actors or those who look very white are in leading roles, while those who are darker or look less white are assigned minor roles. Now speaking from what I know from my culture (Peruvian), those that are darker are also stereotyped to be uneducated, uncultured, or naive. Even in Latin American countries they treat certain people differently than others. Would be nice for darker skinned Hispanics to get a darker skinned princess, so it wouldn't have to always be shoved in their faces that looking whiter equals looking prettier. Even then though it feels like Disney just slapped on the Hispanic label and aren't really going to use it so whatever. :V Latin America did have empires though, good sir *smokes pipe*. The Aztec and Inca empires to be exact, which had princes and princesses. Knowing this, I wish Disney would finally come to terms with the fact they already have their one true Hispanic Disney princess. @Walrus person Having the first black president (whether you like him or not) was a mile stone for minorities. Did you notice before that that every single president was white? Any minority couldn't have dreamed of becoming president a few decades ago. It's a sign that times are changing little by little and for the better. That's why a lot of people were excited. What I think you're describing (ignoring ethnicity, culture, gender) is color blindness, which is actually a form of racism. Although well intended, it's quite bad. This article explains it far better than I could. http://www.psycholog...-is-form-racism
