  1. We are getting a live action/CG hybrid movie of Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue rangers...also, God is dead.

    1. blueblur98

      live action/CG hybrids don't work

      please stop

    2. PublicEnemy1

At least we have the DuckTales reboot.

    3. KHCast

Disney fucking stop. Jesus Christ. This is going past obvious cynical nostalgia pandering and corporate greed now

    4. SupahBerry

I thought it was burning in Development Hell. I guess they're getting cocky after the success of their other remakes.

Also, Disney, if you really wanted to make another Chipmunks movie, remind yourself that you own Fox now. Just ask them to make it. Save yourself the trouble, y'know?

    5. tailsBOOM!

"The nature of the film is unclear, except that it’s being described as a meta and self-referential take on the source material, which initially saw Chip and Dale opening up a detective agency—a direction that, according to THR, the film will not be taking."

    6. blueblur98

'let's make an adaptation that's not even an adaptation of the source material!'

    7. Polkadi~♪

      who asked

of all people, who asked for this

    8. Emperor Robrainiac

      Emperor Robrainiac

      Damn it Bob Iger

    9. Ellipsis-Ultima

They lost me with "live action".

  2. Jesus Christ! My cousin's school had a shooter in it!

    1. tailsBOOM!
    2. Kuzu the Boloedge

      Kuzu the Boloedge

      Jesus fuck, is he alright?

    3. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

@tailsBOOM! @Kuzu the BoloedgeYeah he's okay, I just got the news from mom. She says a teacher got the shooter, but I'm still hearing stuff. I need to check in with my aunt.

    4. tailsBOOM!
    5. Dejimon11

Fuck man I'm sorry to hear that

    6. Milo

I'm really sorry to hear that, Balding.

    7. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

Okay, so my aunt and the other parents are there. They've started having bus drivers remove students from the school. I tried getting in touch with her but only got the voicemail.

    8. Failinhearts

      Oh fuck that's terrifying!

Hope everything settles down and your cousin remains safe...

    9. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

God, all I'm doing is waiting around to speak with my aunt and see how she and Blake are.

    10. Ellipsis-Ultima

Everyone is safe right? Really horrific to have that happen!

  3. That moment you realize the easiest way to bring Mutants to the MCU.

    1. Strickerx5

Just as I'd thought, it's lack of scope is what brings down an otherwise solid game.

    2. Plasme

It's not being criticised for a lack of scope. It's being criticised because the Sonic IP isn't as interesting as SEGA IPs and the bad story.

    3. Strickerx5

IGN and Gamespot specifically site "small roster" and "not bringing anything new to the genre" as criticisms in their pieces.

Hell Destructoid outright uses the phrase " I just wish it wasn't as limited in scope out of the gate" in there's. Seems to be a common complaint all around on top of the lack of other Sega IPs and bad story (the latter of which can probably fall under the lack of scope criticism too).

    4. Plasme

They are referring to scope mostly in terms of it being only Sonic and not SEGA, unless I'm mistaken. I read in haste to be honest.

    5. Strickerx5

I could see that reading for some of these reviews but the ones that specifically mention things like a limited character rooster or, in Trusted Review's case, feeling like a "a budget title"... yeah.

  4. Latest episode of Ducktales was a really good take on the Darkwing lore. I especially dig the massive jab at the Batman films.

  5. The hits keep on coming. David Benioff one of the writers of GoT soon to be on Star Wars cursed this foul Earth by writing X-men Origins: Wolverine.

  6. So...hard confirm that D&D are writing upcoming Star Wars films.

I'm sorry, but I'm cackling like a super villain over this. Nice timing Bob!

      Balding Spider

So I've given up on the movies at this point, so the shows are going to be the only Star Wars medium I'm going to try.

    3. Tornado
    4. QuantumEdge

Considering what my friends have said about GoT, I'm now more concerned than satisfied...

    5. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

@Tornado D&D stand for David Benioff and D.B Weiss. They are a writing/director duo most notably for Game of Thrones. They also were responsible for that Confederate show.

    6. AlphaRuby

Benioff was also a co-writer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The other one (Skip Woods) rewrote it so it's unclear how Benioff's script was beforehand.

  7. If you were ever curious what a low energy version of Prince Ali would be like, well here you go:

*sigh* I'm gonna watch the Broadway take on this song to lift my spirits.

    1. Ernest the Panda

      Ernest the Panda

      I think it sounds fine.

Much more suited to Will Smith’s vocal style.

    2. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

@Ernest the Panda The issue I have is that it isn't a grand enough spectacle and and Smith sounds flat to me. Dude's leading the parade, he should be better but the crowd is outclassing him.

    3. Ernest the Panda

      Ernest the Panda

Tbf, the zaniness of the animated movie version was always going to be harder to pull off in live action.

    4. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

@Ernest the Panda I can understand if they wanted to do their own take on the film like the live action Jungle book movie did, but they are doing a mostly shot for shot remake. And let's be real here, they did the Never Had a Friend Like Me sequence already, which is way more elaborate and nonsensical than this sequence. They should be easy to adapt by comparison.

    5. Ernest the Panda
    6. Ryannumber1gamer

I mean, it’s not awful, but I prefer the animated version of the song. It’s neat how they translated the large scale of the parade into reality, but I don’t think Will is doing enough to show off how big Genie went for this, and the visuals don’t support his magic either.

Here, he’s mostly just leading the parade, where in the animated version, he was shifting into many different disguises to get other people to join in. Off the top of my head, I remember him transforming into an old beggar to show off Aladdin’s generosity, and then into a belly dancer to convince a barricade of women to fall head over heels for him, that kept a lot of Genie’s energy in the song as he was constantly shifting form, moving, and shooting magic to make Aladdin bigger and cooler than ever, where here, he doesn’t seem to do any of that.

    7. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

@Ryannumber1gamer You just addressed the biggest issue regarding this remake. They are doing a remake of the animated movie, and yet it's ironically not animated enough. For example they released a scene where Aladdin is speaking to Jasmin and the Sultan's associates:

It's really... well let's just say a cricket chirping would make it less awkward.

    8. Ernest the Panda

      Ernest the Panda

I kinda got the impression it was *supposed* to be awkward.

    9. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

@Ernest the Panda That's not why I thought it was awkward. Between the delivery of the Aladdin and the actors playing off each other, with the camera cuts, makes it awkward for the wrong reasons.

  8. Not since Sonic Forces have I basked in such glorious salt. I almost feel guilty, but then stuff like this gets created:

And all that guilt flies out the window.

  9. Woolie's salt over Game of Thrones is giving me so much life.

  10. Huh. Mr. Ratburn, Arthur's teacher just got married to his partner.

    1. KHCast

Is that bad to you or...?

    2. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

Oh no, I just saw the character's name pop up in my twitter feed and was really surprised by the news.

  11. Okay I see a lot of people upset with Game of Thrones. Is it overblown outrage, or is this another case of a show failing to stick the landing?

    1. KHCast

The show is just not landing on expectations for most. To me it honestly kinda feels a bit rushed. All that buildup to certain events and they just...happen or aren’t as satisfying as you expect

    2. Ryannumber1gamer

Don't watch it, have a friend who does - according to him - the show creators were given an offer to work on Star Wars. Because of that, they denied the 10 episodes they were being offered, and half-assed it to 6 to basically be done with the show ASAP. The last few episodes have been some of the worst in the show's history, destroying plot points, stories and characters built up from what I understand - that's been built up since the show's beginning.

A good example of how much "not giving a shit" is currently on the show - they left Starbucks cups in scenes.

    3. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

@KHCast Oh, okay that would do it. Especially if it's a show of this scale.

@Ryannumber1gamer I heard about the Starbucks, but wow the rest of that is news to me. That's awful!

    4. LukA8

Both to some extent I guess. They're rushing through major storylines people have waited for for years and are throwing character developments and logic out of the window because they didn't want to work on it anymore. It must be terrible for people who were invested in this since the beginning.

  12. So.... Josh Gad is starring in a reboot of Honey I Shrunk The Kids

    Who....who asked for this.....?

    1. Teoskaven

Noone. Hollywood will reboot everything just to cash in on everyone's nostalgia, reguardless if they should or not.

    2. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

Yeah, but HISTK? God I remembered when they made a show out of that...

  13. So some stuff happened and my Mom's spending mothers day in a hospital waiting room, waiting for her boyfriend to get out of surgery. I was going to cook for her today too. So as it stands I'm pretty much re-stalking her refrigerator with breakfast, dessert, and dinner for when she comes home.

    1. Failinhearts

Hope her boyfriend recovers and returns to well deserved food thanks to you.

    2. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

Yeah he's expected to leave possibly Tuesday.

  14. Anyone else weirded out that Persona's 3-5 contain varying degrees of teacher obsession/lust?

    1. DanJ86

No. Plus obsession/lust in 3 is a bit of a stretch when it's unknown if the protagonist was aware he was talking to his teacher or even found her attractive.

    2. Penny

not necessarily weirded out, as that just seems to come with the territory, but it's definitely something I don't think should continue, at least if it involves underage characters

    3. JosepHenry

It's very gross. Buuut is something the writer thought it was fine when... It really isn't.

Positively written gay characters? That's wrong and weird.

Dating your 10 years older than you teacher despite you being 15? That's fine and dandy.

Ugh. Just use a fucking college setting for once if that's has to be a thing.

    4. Polkadi~♪

In 3, you can hang out with a character who lusts over one of your teachers.

Telling him to knock it off reverses your Social Link with him. Yeah, reverses, that was a thing in Persona 3.

    5. JosepHenry

Do not talk about fucking Kenji

he is the most punchable character in the history of everything

I cannot believe I went far with his social link

    6. Jovahexeon Ogilvie Maurice

      Jovahexeon Ogilvie Maurice

      So what about Persona 1 & 2?

    7. Polkadi~♪

Yeah, I kept telling him to tone it down, or to find someone else, only to find that he hates being told that. Maybe don't bring it up in every single conversation, for starters?

Hell, most Social Links in 3 have you needing to kiss up to the characters, whether you like them or not, so you can progress.

    8. Perkilator

Well, that’s tame compared to turning people old by shooting eye lasers.

    9. JosepHenry

      @Polkadi~♪Persona 3 is a good game.

Persona games are great but when do shit I don't like, they REALLY FUCKING NAIL IT.

    10. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

@Jovahexeon Ogilvie Maurice If I remember correctly in P1 there's a teacher that basically saves a student from a life of delinquency that comes back in P2. Though in P2 Part 1 there is a teacher that's... well crazy would be underselling it given the repercussions. I don't recall any actual lust or anything like that taking place.

      @Polkadi~♪Ugh, I forgot about Kenji.
