  1. Hit that spot in a game where the enemies can rock you, think I'll take a break.

  2. The fuck is with Sony's Kickstarter keys always getting delayed?

  3. Okay, so the issues being that it has trouble maintaining 60fps, this is noticeable especially in two separate areas, and there are noticeable clipping issues like when enemies travel from the background to the foreground. Also I just came across a glitch that cheated me out of a boss Shard, and had to redo the fight.
  4. Didn't expect to like Miriam as a character

      Well, GOOD lol

  5. Playing this right now, and its early but I feel more than confident saying this is the anti-Mighty No 9, but that's not to say it doesn't have its share of issues.
  6. To it's benefit I think Bloodstained leans into the cheese earlier than Castlevania would. Like I had three times early in game that gave me pause. This is a good thing IMO

  7. Sweet, my copy of Bloodstained came early. Gonna poor an our into it!

Edit: As soon as it let's me. Damn this era of gaming and it's applications

What did the collective population do to you to drive it to poverty?

  8. Curious to see how the pokemon limit is going to effect tournaments

A small pool of Pokemon would mean the meta would shift. There might not be a big power creep and with some Pokemon not around, there's more niches to fill.

Maybe USUM becomes the "Melee" of the franchise until the situation is rectified?

@Miragnarok that would mean that even when everyone is back and they even try to emulate the style of USUM as close as possible they still play that over the current Pokemon game though.  I get the love for Melee, but the fan base of the competitive is toxic on a level I've never seen.

If anything Gen 4 is the "Melee" of Pokemon because the metagame really took off then.

      Spoiler

I seriously hope you aren't implying that Ultimate tries to emulate to style of Melee in it's gameplay, because that's absolutely hilarious if you are. Not to mention it being entirely wrong.

The only thing they have in common is that they're both speedy and even that is in entirely different ways. The base core gameplay and mechanics of both are very different, but do mesh together very well. Ultimate does feel like it's just "fast Sm4sh" depending on who you use at first, but very quickly reveals itself to be it's own awesome beast of a game with how things evolve over time and how characters get more tools an tricks discovered for varied ways of play alongside their better balance ideas this time around.

It's a big reason why, contrary to popularly misguided belief, a lot of competitive players of all Smash games, Melee or otherwise, all actually really like Ultimate a lot. Even a good amount who couldn't really figure it out competitively yet still like playing it casually with everyone. They might or might not like it as much as their originally preferred game, but there's still plenty of room in their hearts for Ultimate. Even for me, I'd say Ultimate is my favorite main series Smash game despite how much it pisses me off sometimes. The only thing I'd absolutely put above it is Project M and that's a mod. (A damn good one, though.) I see mroe toxic casuals complaining about rumored complaining from competitive people more than actual toxic competitive folks and that's always been the case ever since it hit the public eye. Both sides are equally guilty. (Though, to give oen point to casuals, at least they never threw a damn crab at anybody. I still think that's hilarious, though.)

Getting back on topic, I'd say Gen 4 + 5 are the "Melee", 6 is Sm4sh when it first came out and 7 is Sm4sh after all of the DLC was done and people were mad at some of the new characters being super good, one in particular over the others.

      Funny how well that fits.

  9. I swear every time I look back on Bendis work I find new things that make me cringe and/or offend me. In this case it's Riri getting upset that her teacher isn't racist enough toward her:

    invinc-iron-man-8.jpgWhat the actual fuck?

Yeesh, no wonder not many people like her. Thats just obnoxious writing and to top it off, you don't insult Tony Stark's facial hair.

    2. Diogenes

      Diogenes

that's more about sexism than racism, i'd say.

and, i dunno, i think it's kinda funny. she's not actually mad about it, she just wants someone to set up a wall so she can make it her goal to smash through it. spite as a motivator even if it's contrived spite.

@The Tenth Doctor Well it's writing like that, and the continuing trend of fridging the old characters to have younger characters replace them. At the time Marvel was adamant on repeating the Miles phenomena which is why we had an Asian Hulk, and a Hispanic Nova, and Riri taking over as Iron Man.

  10. So...anyone watching Agents of SHIELD or Jessica Jones season three? because I guess that just released on Netflix.

  11. Huh. I might be getting Bloodstained a day early, provided the estimated time is correct.

  12. How the hell is Batman the most OP character and yet so ineffective at the same time?

    1. Ryannumber1gamer

      Ryannumber1gamer

      Depends on the writer.

A good writer knows how to balance them both, making Batman’s victory hard fought, and deserved, usually by giving him an opponent that does put him through the wringer and force him to break his own limits to survive and overcome.

A lot of DCAU stuff, especially TAS is like that. There’s almost never a time Batman is ungodly OP and capable of doing insane things. I think the best example of this is Worlds Finest, where Batman has to outsmart, rather than using strength against Superman. Superman uses his abilities to discover his identity and immediately hold it over his head.

Batman then has to outwit Superman by sneaking a tracker on him and spying on him til he gives away the identity himself. It makes it clear Superman and Batman are strong in different aspects. Hush also succeeds with this general idea very well as well.

Oh I meant more in the context of the comics. The DCAU stuff established his abilities pretty consistently, but in the comics they had him kill Darkseid, and keep himself from getting sucked into the vacuum of space by having a strong grip, and yet he can't clean up his home which has only progressively gotten worse over time. I mean how many secret societies are we up to in Gotham at this point?

  13. Tonight I discovered Letterkenny, good god.

  14. So happy Marvel comic's made space cool again. It was a rough period when Bendis and Carol were in charge of it.

  15. In which Kirk Thornton (Shadow the Hedgehog) voices Donald Trump...

    1. Ernest the Panda

      Ernest the Panda

Is this movie getting a redub for America then? Because Trump’s supposed to be voiced by English impressionist Tom Culshaw.
