  1. I wonder if Cartoon Network will try to follow Nick's success and start doing their own revivals.

      *gross sobbing*

      BUT, on the bright side:

so its like a 50/50 chance on being terrible or great

Edit: I notice though that of all the successful revivals, (Samurai Jack, Hey Arnold, Rocko's Modern Life, and Invader Zim,) that they went out of their way to get the creators of those series back along with as many of the original staff members as possible, with PPG being the only one with mostly all new staff and no input from the original creator. So basically thats the secret formula, they gotta get the original creators back on whatever they decide on if they want any other reboots to work.

*looks over at Codename: Kids Next Door*

      ... ill take those odds...

Heck the creator of KND tried to drum up interest in a continuaton of KND a few years back but Cartoon Network turned him down. they hate money and ratings apparently

Yeah when are we getting a revival of Dexter's Lab or the Powerpuff Girls?

    6. Ryannumber1gamer

That makes sense, usually when people want one of these revivals, it's to continue and/or conclude the original creator's vision.

The problem with Cartoon Network is half the time, they seem happier to cash in on a popular cartoon instead of giving it due care, with Samurai Jack being the exception, and even that was Adult Swim more than CN.

Hell, Young Justice is the only other show I can think of that's gotten a revival, and that's being done by DC instead of CN.

      I’m mad Galatic KND isn’t a thing.

I've wanted a reworked, semi-story-driven, but still comical Dexter reboot for years actually, inject some action elements into it, maybe have larger roles for Monkey and the Justice Friends, etc. BUT, only if they could get Genndy on board, and tbh he seems done af with Dexter, as he never really looked back after working on Ego Trip.

Either that or Sym-Bionic Titan, which I'll be angry about 'till the day I die that it was cancelled. That show really did feel like a western anime in a sense, and not like in an Avatar or Boondocks way, but in its own unique way

Symbionic Titan is pretty much impossible, along with Megas XLR and Beware the Batman. Since all three were written off, I don't think they're allowed to legally work on them again.

I mean John Dilworth has been wanting to revive Courage for years now. C'mon CN pleeeease...

all the nick ones have been good

all the cartoon network ones have been mediocre to bad

      food for thought

@Ferno @Ryannumber1gamer do revivals have to be shows? because i'd probably throw toonami on there too (although again, that's also a [as] joint)

in fact, that's probably something to point out for almost all of these revivals (the good ones, anyway), they're not airing on the mainstream avenues. the nick stuff's on netflix and the cn/wb stuff isn't on CN proper. (in a similar vein, an animaniacs reboot coming next year is planned for hulu).

the hey arnold jungle movie is the one exception that did air on the main nick channel (although i *think* the jungle movie is also on netflix. could be wrong though). (and while not mentioned, ducktales 2017 is also considered good although i don't think it has the original crew on it)
