Sonic Adventure - Open Your Heart (ft. EkoNeo) (82% complete)
I still have to record the last half of the vocals, and finish editing what I have already. That will come soon, but the news I have about this is even better.
My guest guitarist has sent through all his clips and we are ready to move on! This guy and I have worked together before, and he's one helluva guitarist! The main composer for the Sonic Legacy main theme, "Our Legacy", and you'll also hear him in the Sonic Legacy issue one voicedub in the race scene between Sonic and Tempest.
The really talented prodigal guitarist from Italy, ladies and gentlemen give it up for EKONEO!

Some good news, some bad news and some better news
The good news is that my guitarist is coming through, and has almost completed his part. All that he has left is a few edits and the solo. It's really sounding amazing so far. I had no doubts, this kid is talented. Once I have his full clip ready I'll reveal who it is.
The bad news is about my guest singer. Due to licensing and master rights, he will not be able to help me out with this track. In this case, I'll have some more recordings to make, and I might as well finish what I have to edit already.
The better news however, is that my guest has agreed to join me on an original project! That will probably mean a lot more than some independent remix anyhow. I had some really great ideas that at least I'm writing down, because I cannot get to this project immediately, no matter how much I want to I do have a few deadlines to make with other projects.
This is gonna be quite a busy few months for me. I'll try to have this one finished as soon as I can. But for now I've still got priorities

Sonic 3 - Let Me In (Marble Garden) (38% complete)
Lyrics are done being written and I'm a little further with the beat as well! I've spent a lot of time mastering the sound so that the rest of the project will go a lot smoothly. I'm on a part now where I need to mix up the drum pattern a little bit so I'm brainstorming ideas. As well as a few new instruments to add, and more sound hunting to do. I can't wait til this one is done. The lyrics I wrote are about how you should never bottle your emotions, and how friends are supposed to be there to see you through the hard times
Project Legacy 2-2 (8% complete)
This one has a deadline, so I have to prioritize to this one for a little bit. I'm to come up with a good tune for Sonic and Tempest to run away from a lava wave and fight badniks, so I'm trying to come up with something really hardcore and intense. I would LIKE to shoot for a full six minute theme that I can break up into a version for the voicedub, which will be less than two minutes. However, inspiration is finally kicking in. Turns out I need to work backwards from a certain point (Turns out I started creating what's gonna be Loop 5 or 6, and now have to work around it). This is really challenging

You may have heard this one in the third scene of Sonic Legacy's voicedub for Issue 1. This is the scene where Sonic and Tempest confront the first badniks, and find the capsule filled with captive animals. You can see this video on the Sonic Legacy YouTube channel by clicking this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4x5nTrSWCbQ
It's a collaborative effort with fellow Sonic Legacy musician, SonicString, who got the track started and did most of the first half of the track. The objective was to stay somewhat orchestral while adding a little intensity for the badnik battle. I myself had the honor of scaring Sonic with the sudden burst near the end of this track, in the part where they first find the capsule. This was definitely an interesting project for sure, with a tempo change, style change, and having to time the music out to what was going on in the comic (a term known as "Mickey-Mousing").
I feel like it turned out ok, we kinda had to rush production since deadlines were coming too close, so there wasn't a whole lot of time to edit. But the upside is that we had accomplished out objective and the comic dub turned out very well because of it.

Thank you all very much for the listen! I would love to hear honest thoughts! I could use some pointers when it comes to this style of music. Nonetheless, I hope you all like this!

This is a collaboration effort by the music team of Sonic Legacy! Our objective was to create a main theme inspired by the main themes of Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes. It all started when our very talented guitarist, EkoNeo, sent over a guitar riff foundation, and we all just built it off from there. We had to find the right sound when it came to the vocals, so we found Cody James Scarlett of the band Serenity Seven, and he did a wonderful job executing them. The track was then edited by fellow member of Serenity Seven, Jerry Alexander.
Overall things have gone over very well! and, as a team, we are all very proud of how this turned out! You've probably heard this as the opening theme to the Sonic Legacy official voicedub on YouTube, which you can check out at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4x5nTrSWCbQ. This taught us a lot about cooperation and teamwork, and how a much it pays off. It was a blast making this, and so far its gotten a great reaction. We at Sonic Legacy hope that you all enjoy this just as well. I'm proud to have this available for download! Thank you all for listening! Sonic Adventure - Open Your Heart (55% complete)
Yeah, it's been a while since I've been able to make any good updates, simply because there's so much time, and so little to do. I edited up the instrumental a little bit more, and sent it out to my guitarist, but I still have much to do with it. Yes, going back through and editing it does count for part of the editing process, but not as much as the vocals. It does however, take a lot of mathematics and counting. I'm not sure if this was the easiest way to approach this track, but I will find every detail and fix it all. I'm doing well with that so far. My guitarist still has a few things to take care of, so hopefully I'll hear more by the end of the month
I have just today went out and recorded the second verse. This will be one of the parts that my guest singer will sing, This part has the original lyrics, but I decided to throw in a couple more of my own in there, maybe I have to change the lyrics a little bit before I send it out, but so far not bad. At least I've got the idea down. He's not ready yet either but the time draws near. I have to finish getting these lyrics edited, recorded, and sent out, real soon. But I'm not too worried, it's coming together quite nicely. Piece by piece

Sonic Adventure - Open Your Heart (53% complete)
I've finished laying out the instrumental! A few more tweaks here and there, getting the basics sorted out, and I'll be ready for my special guests (er, one of them, at least)! Then I'll have to go back and do a more thorough fix-up with the beat. Turns out it's just as I predicted, it'll be somewhere from 6:00 to 6:10 in length. I will know once everything is together. Piece by piece. I still need to record the rest of the vocals, and after that I'm very much free until I get their contributions. I do know that they've all been busy recently and I do hope they get some time to rest and recuperate after all they do. But still, the thrill of being able to work with such wonderful people has me feeling really good about this track. The guest reveal is close at hand! Stay tuned!

Sonic Adventure - Open Your Heart (48% complete)
I know it's been a while since I've made an update. Most of the work I've been doing has been adding more sounds and polishing up what I already have. I found a wah-wah bass like dubstep, and some bells for later on in the song. I look forward to getting the guitar track on this. I've got about a week and a half or so before my guitarist is ready, I have no doubt that I can at least send over a foundation for the whole track and then go back and fix everything up. That part is almost done. I'm on the final chorus now with the instrumental. I also finished writing the new lyrics and am ready to see what my singer thinks. I still have to go out and record the rest as well, as I only have the first verse of the vocals down at the moment. But things are heating up, that's for sure

Sonic Adventure - Open Your Heart (41% complete)
It's been a really slow process, but probably for the better because I need to time this just right for everyone involved. I've been spending a lot of the last few days just going through what I have so far and tweaking out the sounds, making everything smooth and unique. The guitar solo backdrop is finished, I'll shortly be able to analyze the rest of what I need for a more accurate reading. I've recorded the first verse of the vocals tonight as well. My new microphone sounds SO much better than what I was using. Editing this is gonna be just great. It'll be so much easier to place everything else I'm missing once I hear a guitar track. The last thing I want is to overpower the guitars and I'm being as careful as I can to leave room. But things are going so great right now. There's definitely no turning back, not like I'd need to

There’s a little bit of context to this one. This remix is actually TWO parts, and this particular submission is NOT the full remix. Sonic Legacy is currently trying to put together an animated series based off of the comic. This remix will be heard in the very first scene, of the very first episode, where we get an introduction to Sonic the Hedgehog, Tempest the Dolphin, and their first encounter together. This really is quite an honor to be kicking off the series! You can follow Sonic Legacy on Tapas (https://tapas.io/series/Sonic-Legacy) to read Issue 1 of the comic (https://tapas.io/episode/1191915), and check out their YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4NJ6kc_DLlLpXyiqVqZ1Jg) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/sonic_legacy) for updates on this particular animation!
The first part of this remix was done using a technique musicians know as “Mickey-Mousing”, and it’s a technique that’s entirely new to me, but not unfamiliar. This is where one is provided either an animation or a voice-dub (in this case it was voices), and so we have to shape our music to fit emotions and action throughout the scene. Hyper Potions did this with Sonic Mania Adventures, and Tee Lopes did this with Team Sonic Racing Overdrive. You can hear this in many of your favorite cartoons and shows (a particular favorite of mine is Sean Callery who composed for TV shows like Bones and 24). I was also given a stipulation that the scene took place at a beach, so using instruments to represent such was crucial. I’ve added steel drums, Hawaiian guitar, brass instruments, and a fretless bass to help illustrate this. Due to spoiler alerts, and for contextual purposes, this part of the remix IS NOT in this submission. I will release the full version some time in the future, when episode 1 of Sonic Legacy has been released (I will title it as Legacy VIP). We’re all working very hard to take this into fruition, so please stay tuned! It won’t be too long
This submission you are listening to now is the second part of the remix. After the Mickey-Mousing part was over and my submission was ready for Sonic Legacy, the result was not even two and a half minutes. I figured I still had plenty of time on it, and I had actually planned for this from the beginning, so I decided to add a full-on remix to follow it. The total result will be just under five and a half minutes. In this part I added a few things, my signature synth Sky Synth to accompany the Hawaiian guitar, modified marimbas to accompany the steel drums, and plenty more. The intensity in this part is practically double of the first part. Plus, of course, I like to jam out a little bit with a few solos and modifications of my own. Sonic Legacy will not be using the parts you are hearing, except for the intro. I decided to edit that in. Everything was particularly simple once it all got rolling.
This whole project was definitely one of the most fun times I’ve ever had with a Sonic remix! I hope you all have just as much fun listening to it. And please, stay tuned! This isn’t over, not by a long shot! Make sure you subscribe/follow Sonic Legacy for updates as well as new issues! If you liked this, you’re really gonna love the full version! Feel free to leave an honest review! Thank you all for listening and for the continued support! It goes a really long way!
