      Ehhhh....

The anime is a simple way to understand the plot of the first game, but it will ruin the experience for you. There isn't enough time to develop many of the characters, so if they die... they don't make as much of an impression on you as the game would.

I do recommend playing the games but I also recommend playing the games in Japanese because the localization isn't great.

I will forever stick to saying that Super High School Level is more iconic than "Ultimate" for example and some things I just find super weird in it in general like the changing of names for some weird reason. This kind of localization isn't acceptable when Persona 4 did it faithfully.

You can watch the anime yeah where it has a better localization but it goes by fast and you don't get to learn about the characters as much as you would in the games due to the games having free time events. Its up to you if you how you spend your time ultimately.

Please just play the first game, it’s on PS4, Vita, PC, and both IOS/Android.

The anime is a very bare basic adaption, and rushes to fit everything into the episodes they got, meaning a lot of daily life is cut entirely, leaving most of the cast painfully underdeveloped.

What people said, play DR1 or at the very least watch a playthrough of a game. The anime is pretty barebones.

Also a word of caution - DR3 anime (not to be confused with DRv3 the game, those are different things) is considered to be bad, so watch at your own risk

crow, you know this is an english speaking forum, right?

The best way to enjoy a series is through it's source. So yes, play the games. They go for crazy cheap during Steam sales.

       Play the games sure.

Just make sure to get them on sale and cheap when you can.

They're better in english though. Sure it's localization may not be as great as Ace Attorney's, but it's still the better way to play them.

Just keep in mind the games are going to be delisted from stores as the publishing rights for the games are being changed. So if you wanna nab Dangan before it disappears for a tad bit, best get them now.

Oh FUCK RIGHT they're getting delisted for a while.

Okay I'll try the first game and see what's up. Thanks everyone.
