It's not that nobody cares or is asking why... 

It's that people only cared for the 30-minutes before Banjo got revealed.

Honestly, while it wasn't something I was personally rooting for, I *am* glad to see Dragon Quest get some recognition. That series deserves way more credit for giving us RPG's as we know them.

It's also the closest we get for Goki in Smash.

That’s all good and all, but he’s still pretty bland and I just cannot give much of a shit for the games.

The only reason I felt disappointment at first was because I didn't think we were going to get more than one character reveal today, and we had already gotten a JRPG character that I personally had no attachment to. So I went in hoping for Banjo or some other crazy out-of-left-field character to pop out and blow my mind.

And then they did exactly that 30 minutes later so all is well.

I prepped myself for DQ for awhile, so I guess I wasn’t as disappointed as some who went in blind. But I just had a meh expression for the reveal. The actual gameplay of him looks nice, but nothing new. 

On a serious note isn't it weird that Square seemed more lenient with Dragon Quest stuff in Smash compared to Final Fantasy? 

@KHCast That's fine, but at least respect that there are other regions with a different preference. And ya know, Smash is a game made in Japan too. 

In what way did you take me not liking a character and finding him personally bland, as me insinuating other people can’t enjoy them and the franchise, or that I underplay it’s importance or significance in certain regions? Like shit, I don’t give a fuck for Minecraft or fortnite, but acknowledge the impact it’s had within the industry and social sphere. It’s why I had no issue personally with if Steve showed up instead of Banjo. I even said to defend Erdrick a few statuses ago how it was more of a character for the Japanese player base since they barely ever get a rep they want.

Usually with Smash reveals, people have this extreme sense of entitlement when it comes to the characters they want and treat any character that's not their preferred choice as a "wasted slot", so sorry if I misinterpreted your statement.
