Gotta say, some of these scenes in the last story of SA2 hit a lot harder without the background music and a script that's not poorly localized.

To be fair they did that with a lot of stuff in SA2. It's what happens when you try to write a self contained story, only for the popularity to change their minds and bring stuff back without getting why it worked in the first place. It makes me really curious what the development of Heroes was like, but we might never know the full details.
