  1. Topic is reopened for business. Again. So yeah here's a few rules and I'll copy-paste them into the OP and update the title so that none of you have an excuse to miss them. 1. No image macros. There's the statuses for that. Don't clog up the thread with this crap. Any posts with macros that take up a noticeable portion of a post's reason for being made will be deleted. 2. No fanboyism. We don't care if you're excited for the movie and want to piss on other fans with your passive-aggressive 'positivity,' nor do we care if you hate it and want to describe everything wrong with people supporting Sonic Forces this movie. You're free to express your opinion and civilly disagree with others, but if we catch a whiff of any ad hominems or intentionally pushing others' buttons you're gonna fucking get it. That also includes none of this Paramount executive shilling crap. We get it, there are higher-ups who make these seemingly questionable decisions because Hollywood likes to run shit through an eldritchian algorithm in the probability of generating the most money. That doesn't mean people have to put up with it and acknowledge it as even a remotely good idea. Also these executives aren't your friends so you can stop defending them. 3. Argue in good faith. This ties in with the previous rule, but it bears clarification. For fuck's sake, a bunch of you really do act like this series' target audience sometimes and we can't have that, especially on a public forum where your embarrassment is laid out for everyone to see. Members can pick up on your argumentative habits and learn how to poke holes through your paper-thin points and when that happens you better not act like a fucking crybaby about it. So if you want to avoid that scenario you should make a deliberate, conscious effort to discuss with others in an open and honest way from the get-go. Be upfront about your opinions and don't insinuate that others are dumb for not sharing them. It's not a competition and you're not more or less right for liking or disliking the movie. On the other hand you guys are free to dial down on the dogpiling. A lot. And by free I mean you have to because many of the posts we had to wipe yesterday were unacceptable. Enjoy.
  2. Topic will remain closed for a short while while we clean up posts, figure out how to deal with everyone involved, and let everyone cool the fuck off for a while.
  3. Hollow Knight is one of the best metroidvanias ever made. I'll be here day one.
  4. @Meta77, stop trying to police the discussion in this thread. You can choose to not participate and talk about other DB-related things, but don't tell people not to talk about it here.
  5. Naw dude I gotta stick it out for the world design. The Disney fanservice in this game is incredible, and the character interactions seem a lot more endearing and genuine than before. In fact combat issues aside I'm having a decent time with it so far.
  6. I finished the first world in KH3. So far my impressions are that it has by far the best world design I've ever seen in a Kingdom Hearts game. I loved exploring Olympus and checking out every corner of the map. I liked that it doesn't railroad you into one set path and there are multiple ways to get to your goal at the top of the mountain and the realm of the gods. Exploring the city after you complete the world is also great, I wasn't at all expecting it to be changed up to such a degree and it makes it worth exploring a second time. On the other hand the combat is not good. It's a downgrade from KH2FM's in every way, and there's so many different types of command reactions that the game hands you for doing the most basic shit. Forms, attractions, limits, buffed spells, dream eaters. I'm sure I'm forgetting like a bunch more. There's WAY too much shit and it doesn't feel balanced at all. They give you so many different toys to play with that it feels impossible to lose almost any battle, especially when you can stockpile them and chain them for an immediate win. Hell, I think KH1's combat is a lot better and more refined than KH3's. Movement doesn't feel good either - Sora's handling reminds me a lot of Sonic's from the boost games, almost like a racecar with too high acceleration or something. I knew I was in for a bad time when I replayed 0.2 after 2FM, but I was hoping they would have improved it in some meaningful way and bring it closer to 2FM's feel and depth. I was wrong to get my hopes up; compared to some games that came out 15 years ago it plays disappointingly worse. Also I'm playing on proud mode, which I've never done for any past KH games (I attempted it on KH1 PS2 and gave up due to its sluggish combat). So why the fuck am I having an easier time with this game than I ever did on standard mode for the past two main games? The difficulty is an absolute fucking joke, and despite being on the hardest setting I feel like I'm on autopilot the entire time.
  7. Calm the fuck down. You are seriously acting half your age right now. Any further shit-slinging will earn you a strike.
  8. I've been playing this on my PS4 pretty obsessively the past few days and it's reeeeaaaally fun. I'm a big fan of the first two BioShock games but I've yet to play System Shock, so I went into Prey with an interest in a taste of what the latter was like. My first time with the original BioShock was a tense experience, and I was very cautious and analytical of my surroundings while I familiarized myself with Rapture. I love this game, but the problem with BS is that once I got to know the enemies and learned my way around the map, it stopped being terrifying, and on repeat playthroughs I would go on autopilot and cruise through the story without anything resembling a new challenge unless I'm playing on a higher difficulty, all the while my pockets overflowed with excess inventory and cash. It's a great game, but after a certain point you break through the game's relatively low skill ceiling if you're playing on normal, so you have to raise the difficulty setting and turn off vita-chambers to force a new experience out of it. Prey reminds me of how I felt when I played BS1 for the first time - except it never lets up on the difficulty and frightening atmosphere. I'm over 20 hours into the game and I still find myself on edge as I creep around every corner, because at no point can I just barrel through the lesser enemies like a fully upgraded Samus Aran can. Backtracking is actually an extremely stressful endeavor, because the more you progress through the story, the more difficult older areas become as they get littered with stronger typhon enemies. Even when I'm fighting a lone mimic or phantom, I have to exercise caution in how I approach them. Do I get up to their face and shotgun them to death with close combat, or do I just avoid them to save on ammo and health? After the 10 hour mark I almost felt overpowered and well-stocked on supplies, but it became progressively clear to me that ammo was very scarce in later areas and I found myself almost driven into a corner due to my gung-ho nature of killing everything in sight. As a result, I'm now back to avoiding certain encounters and figuring out the best ways of dispatching typhons using as little resources as possible. It was an important lesson I had to go through so that I wouldn't get too cocky before the game took off its training wheels and started getting serious with the enemies it was throwing at me on a regular basis. I'm not done with it yet, and I'm talking a break from the main story in order to focus on my ever-growing list of sidequests that I'm interested in knocking out first. I tend to lose track of time and I always think to myself "just one more area" because it's so fun and satisfying making any amount of progress and collecting stuff that I'll need for later. It's one of the best surprises I've encountered this gen and it's right up there with one of the most memorable FPSs I've ever played along with BioShock, Metroid Prime, and the original Doom.
  9. There's no special features in this collection.
  10. I don't care what you have to say about the other person or what the argument is about, because you were being rude and hostile regardless of what the other person was saying, which is what I'm putting a stop to because I otherwise don't have the will to engage in these playground arguments you instigate.
  11. Knock this antagonizing bullshit off. If you can't engage in a discussion with someone without bringing up your personal gripes with them, then try not to bother.
  12. No Sticks petition topics allowed here.

We’ll see lol. Thank you Sean! 🙂

  14. lol and just when I opened my PS4 copy of P5 that I bought a while ago It seems like it's a ways off (this is an announcement of an announcement I'm guessing?) so I think I'll still get around to the base version sometime soon.
  15. Nier Automata and Horizon Zero Dawn on the PS4 from my cousin. I'm not sure when I'll get to them since I have a backlog on this system already, but I was eyeing those two for some time so it was a pleasant surprise.
  16. Not really sure that there's much to discuss here that can't simply be covered in a status update, unfortunately.
  17. I'm just going to remind y'all to please be respectful of others' opinions. I can predict already many possible directions this topic can take and it would make it much less of a headache if you don't take anything you read here personally and relax before you respond to something someone else says about Sonic. Thanks
  18. Bass feels like a bit of a joke in-universe because his entire motivation is to prove his strength, which nobody (Mega Man, Dr. Wily, et al.) seems to care whether he does or not. I don't think he's a great character, but I prefer him over his Battle Network incarnation where he is quite literally Shadow the Hedgehog.
  19. We do not condone ROM distribution on the forum, so please refrain from posting links or directions where to find the game.
  20. I can somewhat empathize with "TSR is not ASR3" because under no circumstances will I ever accept Colors DS as Sonic Rush 3.
  21. Thanks for linking the topic, but next time can you use the report function instead? Gonna merge the two.
