Regardless of the arguments I’ve seen about how “the actual inspiration predates the nazi ideology”, it’s affiliation is now a thing as we don’t live in a vacuum. Trump should have researched, as /many/ will see this as that. That again though, implies it wasn’t intentionally done to poke a stick at “the libs”

SenEDDtor Missile got a reaction from ProfGawhite678 in Would Sonic benefit from more of a backstory?
I'm of the opinion that if he does have a backstory, it's probably not going to be a tragedy-filled one like Shadow or could be considered particularly sad like Tails' early life. If anything I personally think that he'd probably have one of the most normal backstories out of the entire cast, much like Amy, Cream and the like (although on a personal note I tend to think of slightly darker backstories for Amy and Cream/her mother as a means to explain Amy's obsession with Sonic and for why Vanilla is a single mother, but that's just headcanon stuff). As for his speed, I just like to think he's always been a quick fella even as a kid, but constant running throughout his life and exposure to Chaos Energy (ESPECIALLY from Sonic 2 onwards) due to a headcanon regarding the nature of the islands in Sonic 1-3 (and Little Planet in CD) help augment him to the point he became capable of running at sonic speeds. Basically Charles Atlas Superpower with a bit of outside empowerment.

SenEDDtor Missile got a reaction from ProfGawhite678 in Sonic Forces: The War Of Wasted Opportunities.
I know that the torture line for Forces' English dub was kinda cringy, but much like everything else, I think there could have been some merit to it in the sense that it could have been expanded on in a cutscene, that shows what exactly Sonic suffered, but also could help flesh out Infinite and Eggman's roles and their relationship to each other.
Read further in the post for my thoughts. It's also something of an expansion of some previous thoughts I had regarding Infinite, so I have links for those as well:
    https://board.sonicstadium.org/profile/2255-seneddtor-missile/?status=897030&type=status
So the basic gist of it is that Sonic ends up getting captured and imprisoned, and Infinite comes along to taunt Sonic for his failures. Sonic throws back snarky quips like usual, but then Infinite gets angry (or Sonic hits a nerve with him), so Infinite decides to use his powers to torture him. Sonic then suffers a mixture of potential torture scenarios, ranging from his friends and allies turning on him and blaming him for Eggman conquering the world, to the prison cell he's in getting smaller and smaller until it nearly crushes in a tiny cage (thus resulting in claustrophobia and fear of being crushed), and so on for months on end. This eventually culminates in Eggman confronting Infinite about him torturing Sonic, not because he's concerned about Sonic's wellbeing, but rather that he finds it to be personally distasteful and far too personal, as well as a waste of time considering Infinite could be going about helping conquer the world instead of just satisfying his sadistic urges.
This would be an important cutscene because it fleshes out Eggman and Infinite's worldviews. Eggman, as much of a narcissistic egomaniac hellbent on taking over the world as he is, is ultimately not interested in such a personal and distasteful action because he wants people to worship him, not hate him (unless he doesn't like them, then he just doesn't care), and torture is just too messy and personal (now granted Eggman could certainly resort to it if he was pushed off the deep end, but I think he'd be more likely to just try to get rid of the problem rather than drag it out. More world conquering time after all!). He might be willing to taunt Sonic before getting rid of him, but torture is questionable for him.
Infinite on the other hand takes things extremely personally, and is under the mindset that tormenting people is a good way to establish yourself as the top of the food chain. Plus he also argues that the Resistance knowing about Sonic being tortured could be used to demoralize them (missing the possibility that they might end up being galvanized to rescue him instead due to being a sadist). He's too fixated on his own personal grudges and satisfying his own sadism that he tends to miss the bigger picture.
Sonic doesn't break however, even though he's being worn down, something that angers and frustrates Infinite to no end, resulting in him taking out his frustrations on civilians when he's called out to engage in Eggman's war against the world (and thus resulting in what happens to the Avatar later on).
That being said, Eggman is somewhat conflicted on Infinite's point, since on the one hand, he doesn't care for torture. On the other hand, he doesn't like Sonic very much and he does like the idea of the Resistance being weakened by such a big hero being broken down to the point of making it easier for him to take over. It's ultimately rendered a moot point since the Resistance catches wind of the situation and frees Sonic.

The core problem is that he can't stand the idea of co-existing if his past words are any indication. He's pretty much made it evident that he'll only accept his world as being the sole canon.

So to try to change up the subject from just Penders' nonsense and ramblings for a bit, I kinda want to actually try to tackle a bit of the story that he's hinted at so far in the few scripts he's bothered to release. I'd go and link the scripts in question, but I honestly cannot remember which page they were located on.
The bit that I do remember was in regards to the notion of "Assignment Day", and I have to say this:
Is it just me, or does it come off as strangely dystopian/authoritarian? It also kinda makes me think of the City of Ember book.
Anyways, combined together with the whole thing regarding the council not being happy with Lara about her flaunting of her future Praetorian duties and creepy disturbing implications, and it seems like Ken made his Suetopia lean heavily/potentially authoritarian.

We have about 115 delegates from Super Tuesday to go, and Biden is ahead by 91. He will most likely maintain his lead.
Current polls put Bernie as non-viable in Florida. If that continues, Biden will win 200 delegates from it, and this is basically over.
Now, as for this upcoming Tuesday. I looked at polling averages, which admittedly are flawed since most don't account for this being a two candidate race (lol Tulsi), and split the delegates in each state proportionate to the candidate's share of the vote:
Idaho (20) – No polling. Sanders stomped Clinton here in 2016.
    Michigan (125) – 70 Biden, 55 Sanders
    Mississippi (36) – 25 Biden, 11 Sanders
    Missouri (68) – 43 Biden, 25 Sanders
North Dakota (14) – No polling. Ditto with Idaho.
    Washington (89) – 46 Sanders, 43 Biden
Net: 181 for Biden, 137 for Sanders. Even if Bernie sweeps Idaho and North Dakota, he remains behind.
It looks like Biden is on the path to crush Sanders. But a lot can change in a two-candidate race. If you are a Bernie supporter, going out to vote is more important than ever now.
What is most eye-opening about the current polls is Biden's surge in Michigan. It is possible he's just enjoying a boost from every single Democrat coalescing behind him, but if Bernie can't beat Biden in the Rust Belt, I just don't see a path forward.
Multiple things. In general, the South is more conservative, so black voters from there will reflect that.
Speaking of the black community as a whole, there has been some research done on the topic. In some cases, it's the influence of the church in many communities that pushes it a little more towards conservative ideology, but the racism of the Republican Party keeps even conservative black people from joining the GOP for the most part.
There are other factors in play as well. What has been found is black voters tend to feel moderates deliver more on their promises than radicals. Clinton signed into law a bill that fell heavily on African Americans, but he also oversaw their greatest period of economic prosperity. Meanwhile, black radicalism in the 1960s paved the way for Nixon's Southern Strategy and the modern American police state that imprisons and murders black people with impunity. In addition, the experience with racism seems to have overall lowered black voters' expectations, so going with a moderate means the least chance of being disappointed.
But yes, last I saw, about 40% of black voters identify as conservative and 40% as moderate. Social pressure goes a long way to maintain cohesion with the Democratic Party, but there are strategic reasons to as well.
Of course, then you have black leaders like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, who are tied very heavily to moderate Democratic politicians. But it's better to look at black leaders in the aggregate... the issue they tend to rank most highly is not police brutality, but affirmative action in college. They, the relatively well to do black Americans, are more interested in putting their kids in college than keeping everyone else's kids out of jail.
There is a reason Black Lives Matter groups tend to politely tell traditional black leaders to piss off. They recognize the affiliation with the neoliberal leadership of the Democratic Party only benefits wealthier black people.
This is the same pattern we have seen for hundreds of years. A colonized population's leaders are just agents of the colonizer. The Palestinian leaders live in plush mansions while their people can barely fit in their housing, if their house isn't demolished by Israeli settlements. Is it any surprise that black leaders tend to celebrate moderates like Biden as helping to fend off the evils of Republican racism, even though Biden's weak commitment to ending the Drug War or overdue investment in black communities means oppression will continue with little change?

It's honestly funny when you think about it, because Penders' almost definitely would've had a legacy had he just not been such a dick about everything. Regardless of actual quality of his works, I think they would've still been appreciated. For better or for worse, Penders did pave the way towards a more story and lore driven universe for Archie Sonic, even if his lore and story weren't particularly good.
I think what kind of sucks is that Penders did have some genuinely good ideas. He's not a great writer, but some ideas were good, and were utilised with Ian. Regardless of quality, a lot of people grew up with the world he helped raised up (I absolutely have to empathise this though - this was a team effort, thanks to the likes of Gallagher, Bollers and such on top of Penders).
I do think had this whole thing had just been about royalties, and that was that. No domineering control freak nonsense, no approval stuff, no "letting me use SEGA characters in personal projects for profit", etc. Literally just Archie paying Penders (and by extension - the other creators) what he was deserved, we would all be singing a different tune today. We'd probably be on his side on the matter, and more importantly - he would've actually had a fanbase that might not like his work, but appreciate it all the same.
@horridus has said it himself - he used to be a fan of Penders because he grew up with the work, but then when Penders kicked off this shit, it tainted everything else about it. Finding out that these stories you grew up with was created by a selfish, sad little man with petty vendettas against whoever he can get his hands on. The lawsuit did not kill Penders' legacy with this comic, Penders killed his own legacy with this comic.
I am 100% on the stance of if Penders had been more reasonable, if he'd just moved on with his life and created new characters, a new story, and a new world, and just let Archie have his old works - albeit - with full credit and royalties, he would be fairly liked. Maybe not liked as a person, but if he kept his head down, his legacy would've remained untainted. His stories might not have been good, but they would've had nostalgic value, and appreciation from quite a lot of people who grew up with it.
But since Penders had to raise such a massive stink, since he had to be an egotistical little shit, and insult people, and get his random Sonic OCs back, he forever tainted that legacy. He revealed himself to be a petty shit to the people who grew up with him. He caused all reprints of his work to be lost to the sands of time, and he practically forced everyone to return back to his stories with a critical examination to reveal that they were always terrible, and honestly have little to no value. As concepts for a better writer - maybe, but as written by Penders? Hell no.
He lost royalities for everything he wrote, he lost a fairly decent chunk of fans, and he lost a legacy, and for what? For some misshapen mutated ugly versions of the characters someone from ten years ago vaguely remembers? He's a man who ruined the only small insignificant legacy he had for something that is doomed to fail. That's what it all amounted to. A failure. A big, fat failure.
You know what other writers did? Moved On. Bollers went on to write for Marvel, including a widely praised run on a Emma Frost X-Men comic. Bollers is still getting work to this day. People still like his contributions and characters because he moved on and didn't ruin them with petty drama and bullshit (Hell, I'm in that camp - Mina is still one of my favourite characters in all of Sonic). The dude was a editor for Marvel, and is a senior editor for Valiant Entertainment now, and was nominated for an Eisner Award. You don't see him chasing down old glories and ruining his legacy, he's moved on and continued to grow it more and more.
The more you read into Penders, the more sad, pathetic, and absolutely depressing it is. Behind the grandeur, and the bold claims, there's just an bad writer who never quite got over his one and only source of legacy, and instead of moving on with his life and trying to improve and make an even greater legacy, he's still pathetically chasing after old glories and the one thing that people had a slight liking of when someone else wrote his concepts and ideas. While everyone else moved onto better things, he's still trying to stir shit and convince SEGA, people, and possibly himself that he actually mattered in the grand scheme of things, and to SEGA.
As mentioned above, what else is there to say than...
